  1. This forum is anti-Carnival. So, don't expected unbiased opinions. I suggest you make your decision based on itinerary.
  2. Even if one lives near a cruise port, you will be limited by the itineraries served by that port. Going back and forth to the same Caribbean Islands would be a waste of time after a while. You can't cruise the Greek Isles or Iceland or Asia or many other cruise destinations from FL. So, being in FL would be useless.
  3. Don't cancel the person. Allow them to be a no show. I think that's the difference.
  4. I don't get why the Diamond/Platinum "party" is such a big deal.
  5. Air con as in air conditioning? It's 2022. All modern facilities have air conditioning.
  6. You could make it a Florida land based vacation.
  7. Or it could be long Covid. People are having symptoms months and even years later. Some have permanent damage. Most doctors are not equipped to treat.
  8. Yes, there are cruises that embark/disembark from different ports. You have to look at cruise booking sites to see available itineraries.
  9. Ok. Now what? More useless internet complaints or choose a cruise line that meets your needs?
  10. So plan ahead. If you know you like a snack at 11 pm every night, just call at 10 pm.
  11. On another forum, when comparing interior vs balcony cabins, a woman noted that the smaller interior cabin was better because she didn't have to make as many decisions as to where to put stuff when she unpacked. I guess space and choices bother some people.
  12. Honestly, I don't see the problem. There was an unexpected change. They offered another tour later in the day. It was declined by the OP. Viator's refund policy is clear: "You'll receive a full refund if you cancel at least 24 hours in advance of most experiences." The OP tried to cancel with less than 24 hours notice. This was an unfortunate circumstance but Viator did nothing wrong. The tour operator tried to make it right by offering the tour at the next available time slot.
  13. You must have gotten an old batch. I received Binex tests in January and they are good until July. I would order new tests. Also, you can test in person at a local location that offers rapid/express results.
  14. Usually they will offer early disembarkment to people who are doing self assist, which is essentially walking off the ship carrying all your luggage by yourself. They will tell you what time to be at the disembarkment deck.
  15. Tip: Don't compare to Royal Caribbean. Let the cruise be its own experience.
  16. They offer laundry service for a fee. It's a small price to pay to save lugging around extra clothes. Just pack casual wear that can take a strong washing.
  17. Are you concerned more about the physical backpack or the amount of clothes? I only travel with a 19" carryon and one small backpack. I only pack clothes for half the days. So, for a 7 day, I would have the clothes I wore onto the ship and then three more days of clothes. Clothes wise, you should be okay with less. Most ships have self serve laundry rooms. A few have ship laundry services.
  18. A quick bit of advice. Please plan on doing or seeing something memorable (to you) and/or unique to the particular country/area. So many people just get off the ship, look around for 10 minutes and then get back on the ship. As if the location meant nothing.
  19. Cruises are vacations. Most people are there to enjoy the ship's offerings or they cruise for the ports. Most don't cruise with gambling as their primary motivation. One would think true gamblers would find better places to gamble.
  20. Are you saying this because you think most on this forum aren't big time gamblers? Or are you saying this because you think most on this forum don't have $4500 to spend (lose)?
  21. Have folks done a cost analysis? The OP is spending $500 a day in the casino for a 9 day cruise. That's $4500. Without the special deal, that cruise is like $3000 give or take. Is it really a deal when you run the numbers?
  22. Why? Do you really want to spend so much on gambling? They can't make you gamble.
  23. No purpose? What about the crew that were exposed? Then the new passengers will be exposed to that crew. Contact tracing is important.
