  1. We had dinner at the Pizzaria in Waves, right outside the Terrace on Deck 12.  Mama Mia, the pizzas and salads were so delicious!  We had the pizza with burrata infused with truffle and pepperoni.  The shared salad had the truffle infused burrata, fresh tomatoes and arugula and pita bread.

The setting was very romantic with blue checked tablecloths and tea lights on the tables.  Add a glass of red wine, we were very happy cruisers even though we have been circling around the Atlantic for awhile!

What 2 days are you going to be docked in Jacksonville?  We live in the area and would love to see the ship.  What day & time do you arrive & depart?

We're in Ponte Vedra Beach - home of The Players.

Ditto what Qruzon said - Jacksonville Zoo and Gardens is close by the cruise port.  See my link #85

We will be docked, hopefully, tomorrow, March 17.  We will overnight tomorrow night and depart tomorrow afternoon, March 18 around 5 p.m.

I just talked to the Destination Desk and they said there will be a free shuttle tomorrow for downtown Jacksonville, but no free shuttle to St. Augustine, only Oceania tours on Saturday, March 18.

We’re in Miami, looking off our balcony at some Regent ship docked at Terminal J. Weather is great here. Spent a couple of hours messing around the Brickell area, which we had never done before. I never worry about posting the details of my flights here and hotel stuff. We’ve been here since yesterday and are lucky to just be here due to flight delays, but it all worked out.  Probably won’t post anything else till tomorrow. D72F8B04-E923-4A6A-9456-64F29B43DB42.thumb.jpeg.31911d5286c9455d26c9938954210ded.jpeg

Beautiful pictures Orv.  See you at the Meet and greet.

  4. My husband and I were on the Insignia for 28 days for a Southeast Asia cruise and on the Nautica for 18 days for a  Far East cruise.  These cruises were pre-covid.  For both cruises (same cabin location), we were in an inside aft cabin, category F   Our cabin deck was right under the band/pool area.  We were only in our cabin to sleep.  We were out and about the ship all day during sea days, only going back to the cabin to freshen up and sleep.  Never heard anything above us in the early morning and at night - one of the best sleep we've had.  Our cabin location was great.  Very convenient to dining and the library.  Cabin size was fine for us (we were not exactly the model size).  The bathroom, especially the shower area was small, but we managed.  Overall, we were fine with an inside cabin.

Sailing on the Anthem next week & we will stop in Miami on 11/3/2022. from 7:am to 5:00 pm  I have never been to Miami. What is there to do, any beaches & how to get there?  I have looked all over this website & have seen nothing for activities in Miami.

Check out Vizcaya Museum and Gardens.  Uber would be a way to get there.

I know day passes are few and far between on the island.

As a thank you for watching my parent’s dog for a few weeks while they were out of town, my parents would like to treat me (and my travel mate) to a hotel room on Bermuda so we can access a beach with amenities and a pool for 2 of the days we are docked.

we will be on Bermuda the 25-27 of October and was thinking of getting a room for the 26-27. I have a room booked at the st Regis, but with the ferry not going there I am reaching out to see if someone in the know on here would recommend something different (or a different way of doing things). Some of the hotels seem to be fully booked that day, but if anyone has any suggestions I’m all ears.

I am fair skinned and need a chair/umbrella and bathroom access. My travel companion loves the beach and a pool. We like to snorkel off the beach and want a relaxing vacation as this is our first since Covid and don’t feel like dealing with taxing/bussing all around the island this trip (which we normally do on islands).

    thanks in advance

    Hello swissh40,

We are also getting off the ship and taking the ferry to Hamilton and staying at the Hamilton Princess Hotel for one night.  They have a complimentary shuttle to their own beach on Sinky Beach.

  7. Thank you bbtondo for sharing your experience on the Riviera.  We are also doing the Oceania shore excursion Florence On Our Own.  Where did the bus drop you off and how far a walk to the Ponte Vecchio?  Thank you.

  8. Hello RollWave,

We love the smaller Oceania ship, the Insignia.  Since it's a smaller ship, it can go to ports closer to city centers. The crew and officers were wonderful.  The food was truly the best cuisine at sea.  We were on her for 28 days to Southeast Asia in an inside cabin in 2017.  We were on deck 8.  All we had to do was go up one deck and we had access to the Terrace, Waves Grill and pool area and sea air!  The cabin size was a non issue for us.  A bigger shower area would have been nice, but not a deal breaker.  We actually loved the lectures on board, the Afternoon Teas, and the low key entertainment.

We have also been on the inside cabin on deck 8 of the Nautica for 18 days.  We have also been in a penthouse on the Marina and Nautica and concierge veranda on the Marina and will be in a concierge veranda on the Riviera next year.  IMHO, one can't go wrong on whatever cabin you choose.

    Enjoy your cruise!

  9. One of our ports of call on the Nautica October 2019 was St. Tropez.  It was a tender port.  From where the tender docked, it was an easy walk to places we wanted to visit.  We visited a beautiful church called Notre Dame de l' Assomption.  We also visited the Musée de l' Annonciade, a modern art museum housed in a beautiful 1500's chapel.  We also visited La Maison des Papillons, the home turned museum of artist Danny Lartique.  His butterfly collection and artwork are beautifully displayed.  It's a very interesting place to tour.  We also stopped for a tea break at the La Tarte  Tropèzienne on Places des lices.  The famous tarte tropèzienne cake was so delicious and was originally created here.

  10. We were on the Singapore to Rome on the ATW last year, so we got on as you got off. Guess we remember each other from the CC roll call. We have friends on your cruise. I think you will be in Kobe before us. We have a food tour scheduled at 10am in Kyoto and have to rush off the ship to make it into Kyoto in time. I’m hoping that we will be docking at Naka since getting to the train station will be less complicated and more predictable if we can just walk to the station. We’re planning on taking a different train than you since we need to go to Nishiki Market fo the tour.

Your food tour sounds like fun - so many things to see and do - so little time!!!

Are your friends on the Roll Call for Nautica March 6th sailing? Please have them contact me on the Roll Call - would love to meet them at our Meet and Greet.

Hope to meet you in person on future cruises.

  11. Hi Tea Snob,

We may be on the same cruise, Beijing to Sydney on Oceania Insignia? Anyway I don't think that the shuttle drops us off at the JR Motomachi Train Station. We were on the Celebrity Milennium a couple of years ago and the shuttle droped passengers off in Motomachi, directly across the street from the big shopping center. It is about a 5 minute walk to Motomachi Station and a 10 minute walk to Kobe Sannomiya Station. As Bruce stated, the shuttle leaves when it is full and it takes about 15 minutes to get to the shuttle stop. It was also quite busy at the beginning and many people had to wait for another shuttle. We were fortunate to be the last ones allowed on the first one out. I am hoping that we are docked at Naka Pier, since it is about a 15 minute walk to Hanakuma Station where we can take the train to Kyoto. This way we can exit the ship as soon as it docks and just walk to the station since we are on a tight schedule. Ship to Portliner to Kobe Station is a much longer trek.

Thanks Betty. We are going Shanghai to Tokyo on Oceania Nautica. I thought I recognize you from postings on the ATW 2017. We were on a segment last March/April Bali to Singapore on Insignia.

We are trying to get to Kyoto as fast as we can after we dock. We are taking the train and overnighting in Kyoto, then back to the ship before our 8:00 p.m. sailing the next day.

  12. Thank you BruceMuzz and The_Big_M. Now if I can just figure out which terminal at the Port of Kobe (Port Terminal or Naka Terminal) we will really be docking. Our cruise line says Naka Terminal, but the City of Kobe says berth 4Q1 which is Port Terminal. It's making my head dizzy!!!

  13. The free shuttle bus can be found just outside the front entrance doors to the Cruise Terminal. The bus departs when it gets full - which can happen quickly or slowly. Travel time to Kobe JR Station is about 15 minutes, then another 15 minutes to unload everyone.

10 meters from the front entrance of the Kobe Cruise Terminal is a stop for the train that runs between Kobe JR Station and Kobe Airport. The train stops there every three minutes. Travel time between Kobe Cruise Terminal and Kobe JR Station is 4 minutes. Tickets are ¥140 per person.

Thanks BruceMuzz, but our ship will be docked at the Naka Pier Cruise Terminal not the PortLiner Terminal with the monorail. Still trying to figure out timing.

  14. Has anyone ridden the free shuttle from the Naka Pier Cruise Terminal to JR Motomachi Train Station in Kobe? How long is the wait to catch the shuttle, and how long does it take to get to the station?

    Thank you.
