To me, that's like saying I have never worn a bicycle helmet and, so far, have never had an accident involving head trauma. It doesn't necessarily mean it's a wise thing to do. You have simply been fortunate.

My BIL booked a cruise leaving out of Miami last year out of Nashville, which is a reasonably short flight. His flight was delayed and although it eventually landed before sail away, he could not make it to the ship on time.

He didn't have trip insurance. He ended up taking a beach vacation in Florida that probably cost double on top of what he paid for his cruise.

I never said it was a wise thing to do! No where in my comments did I say that it was wise. I simply stated that I haven't had a problem with going to the port on the same day. Not that anyone else may or may not have experienced problems, delays or something beyond their control, Life happens and it Happens to All of Us. If you would have kept reading my response I also stated, It's best to go down to the port a day ahead if you can do that!! Sometimes, you can't always make that work.

Yes, I've been Very Fortunate and Highly Blessed! Thank You!

yeah, they’re a lot like gorditas or pupusas if you’re familiar. Thick cornmeal stuffed with cheese in this case…. They’ll be at the Blue Iguana like @crewsweepersaid, and the good thing is that everyone generally lines up on one side for breakfast burritos, but the other side you can just stroll up and get arepas and huevos rancheros with generally no to minimal wait

    Thanks!

  3. I've flown out the same day as the Cruise and so far, I haven't had any problems. I do try to book the first Plane out, which is usually at 5:30 or 6:00am. This way I do have some wiggle room if anything happens. Yes, it's best to do down a day ahead and I've do that too but sometimes depending on things, I may need to fly out the same day as the Cruise. Either way, Enjoy Your Cruise.

  4. Since you've eaten at Guy's Burger, what do you think of the French Fries? I know many are complaining that they are not the original French Fries from when Guy's First Opened and are saying they are some frozen type of fries, so I'm just wondering what is you opinion of them. Thanks!

  5. Just got off the phone with Courtney Taylor. His tours and definitely up and running. He said you do not have to show him your vaccine cards or anything because that is done already when you board the Ship. Right now there are no masks mandate but if you feel more comfortable with one on then by all means wear it. You can communicate with him through his website, fill out the contact portion and chat through email. Or you can get his phone number off his tour website and call and ask your questions directly with him. That's what I did.

How does Carnival handle their Muster Drills now? Just off NCL-Encore. Was directed over to a staff member, who showed us our muster station on a ship map, checked off our names/cabin # and that was it!

On my September Cruise on the Horizon, my DH and I showed up in the main Theater. We were greeted and shown how to put on a Life Vest. Then staff told us where our Muster Station was and how to get there. Another staff member asked us our names and cabin number. That was it! Total time maybe 5 minutes. Easy, Peazy, Breezy!

Maybe we could share some pics of our door decor of past trips to give others' ideas...I myself don't have a crafty bone in my body so I leave that to the pinterest/craft room folks who are much better at it them me...but I enjoy seeing them all the same.

This is me as well. Not sure if I can pull it off for our December Cruise but since the Hubby asked I'll give it a try. I don't have an artistic bone either! I'm looking forward to seeing what others have done as well.

We always make our own. They really do help as navigational points while on board, plus making your decorattion gives you soemthing to do to make a weekend pass quickly while you are waiting to cruise. We use Command strips to hang them and have never had any problems.

This is the one I made for our cruise Jan 31:

and the one that we are taking on our cruise next week:

This Banner is Very Cute! Love It.

I orders some command strips with my decorations as well because people have said due to multiple coats of paint and weak magnets it may not stick.  You can only put things on the door though--not the frame is my understanding.

I'll definitely bring some extra Command Strips with me. Thanks!

    One cool thing

with door decorations when they're on my strip of corridor

    - they serve as navigational way-points when I'm headed back to the cabin!

    Don't laugh.

Late at night we can all use a little help!

Agreed! LOl. I think that's The Real Reason Why my DH wants the door decorations to begin with.

Remember to take magnets!  Some doors need extra magnets to hold things in place, even when they are already magnetic, which we found out the hard way the first time we decorated.  LOL

    Thank You.

  12. So My DH wants me to decorate our cabin door this time around when we cruise. Do all the items you  use to decorate have to be Magnetic? What did you use to hang a banner? I looked on Amazon yesterday and it does seem like they have a lot to choose from. How about Port Items for the door? Like last year someone had things that referred to each Port we visited. For Example: Amber Cove. Do you use something specific for the Port or do your own cut outs, etc.? Any information will be helpful. Thanks!
