  1. While I'm unsure about the source, we were on Vision in October and she was in really good shape for her age and the crew was outstanding. We encountered no pushy wait staff, but lovely, helpful folks were everywhere.
  2. I left my iPad on Vision in October. Put in a claim with RCCL, but nothing came of it. Insurance/Applecare covered replacement, though, so it worked out in the end. But I wouldn't count on ever seeing your lost item again.
  3. I don't think so. The "bus stop" is toward the aft of the ship, starboard side. Other smoking area is on deck 15. Bad news, your cabin's view is partially blocked by a lifeboat.
  4. Been on both. Liberty is fine, with more things to do, more food options — if you have kids the pizza is much better, plus more activities and facilities. Enchantment is more of a chill experience, which I love, too. If you liked Enchantment, you'll probably like Liberty as well.
  5. Glad to know it's not just me -- my last cruise was Sept. 22, and my next is Oct. 23. Seemed aggressive for a muster call....😀
  6. Starlink also isn't going to fix some poor WiFi mesh implementation on RCI ships. Although I have no first-hand experience (yet) with SL equipped ships, much of my issue in the past is tied to poor WiFi performance and coverage (and a mesh that gets overwhelmed with too many users). This is forgivable on older ships, not designed with WiFi in mind, but actually seems to be more of an issue on Quantum and Oasis class ships, which should have had better on-ship wireless networks, especially when encouraging everyone to do everything through the app. Ironically, I've had the best WiFi on Vision class ships. I can get decent connections early in the morning -- thankfully that is the time I typically deal with work stuff -- but that degrades as the day goes on. So, while Starlink is cool, RCI needs to invest in on-ship infrastructure -- a more robust WiFi network -- to make it a meaningful improvement.
  7. Based on our Aug.Sept trip on Oasis, the MDR is a mess. As it is the only time we've sailed on Oasis class (and likely the last for quite a while for numerous reasons), it's unclear whether it is local management issue or just too many people on board creating a critical mass issue.
  8. We had similar issues on Oasis in Late Aug/Early Sept. I happen to be a medical marijuana user (not on board -- and I take capsules at bed time), so I was more annoyed at someone risking smoking anything on a balcony. I did not complain, figuring it would not go anywhere -- but did complain when the same folks started blasting music at 7 am on their balcony. Security promptly took care of it. I frequently see people using MJ carts in the smoking area when I'm enjoying a cigar -- which honestly, I don't have an issue with, even though RCI forbids such behavior. I suspect we're 5-10 years from having legal use in designated areas and maybe edibles.
  9. Another vote for Pirate Republic Brewing -- great craft brews, solid food.
  10. MTD was kind of a disaster on our recent sailing (end of Aug. into Sept.). We had 7:30 reservations and arrived at 7:25 to find they were still seating those with 6:45 reservations. And the ship was max full, loads of kids. Honestly, for us, it was a bit much, although I see the attraction for families with kids. There are many great aspects -- including Central Park -- that make this a unique experience. But for what it worth, a full Oasis class feels more crowded to us than a full Quantum class ship. YMMV, of course.
  11. We sailed in one on Edge. It's a hybrid of giant Ocean View and balcony. Plusses: makes cabin feel bigger, more light and great views if the weather isn't ideal. Minuses: when open, AC is off and room gets pretty sweaty/humid in warm locales. Some people really dislike them, others are passionate fans. We're sort of in the middle and would sail in an IV on the right ship and itinerary. Looks like Icon will have more of a mix of traditional balconies and IV than Edge-class, which has mostly IV cabins.
  12. 7:30. We arrived promptly at 7:25 an they were seating the 6:45 reservations, with a line running back past the elevators.
  13. We, too, were on this cruise. OP pretty much has it down -- we had MTD and never made it to dinner in the MDR. Staff was great, but a lot of issues with overcrowding. I rated the cruise as a 7.5 on a scale of 10. First time we've been on one lower than 8.5. Going to be tough sell for us to sail on anything larger than Quantum class -- two excellent sailings on Anthem for us to date -- going forward.
  14. Food on Enchantment is MDR, Chops, Park Cafe and nibbles at the Coffee counter on Deck 6. Might be the most limited selection in the fleet -- just spent nine days on here in May and found the food to be fine.
  15. We had 7:30 reservations. We arrived at about 7:25 and found that the 6:45 people were still being seated, let alone 7. Line stretched back quite a ways...
  16. Just getting off Oasis this morning, I would advise NOT to use MTD. Wait times were 45 minutes past reservation time on this cruise, living many (including us) frustrated. Ended up not eating a single dinner in main dining room, a first for us ever on any cruise line.
  17. I, too, have had back surgery -- spinal fusion -- and find the beds very much too hard. We just bring a foam topper (queen -- king is too big for Royal's "King") and tip our cabin attendant to put it on day one. It's an extra $100 (we get a good one), but well worth it for the much better sleep and reduction in pain on my part.
  18. Actually, no. The federal government enabled the suit from Havana Docks, Inc. which owned the docks before 1959 when Cuba nationalized the docks.
  19. It seems unlikely before 2025. While Biden may not agree with the changes Trump made in 2019, he's unlikely to move to anger Cuban-Americans in Florida before the 2024 election. I was lucky enough to go on the late Majesty in 2018 and hope to go again, once the ban is lifted.
  20. We were less than thrilled with the beach -- long line to rent chairs/umbrella and -- the sand isn't really pink there. We've been to other places on the island with actual pink sand and less crowds. If you're going off on your own, you may consider looking elsewhere.
  21. We sailed Edge last summer after our trip on Oasis was cancelled. We thoroughly enjoyed it and would happily sail Celebrity again, especially on an Edge-Class ship. It's a different vibe, a bit higher end, but still very enjoyable. The family connection between X and RCCL comes through pretty strongly.
  22. We're 15 days out from a trip on Enchantment. My expectation is that we will have a great time, but are prepared for hiccups, largely because all of the ships are short staffed to some degree. RCI is working feverishly to hire, but it takes time in the current situation. So, "Patience" is going to be our mantra. Each trip has exceptional moments and some that are less so. Plus as semi experienced cruisers (we'll cross over to Diamond on this trip), we've learned a lot of little things to make our trip easier and more enjoyable.
