  1. I have done the Cartagena Walled City tour. It was a good tour unless you have mobility issues - very steep incline walk up into the fort. The only other issue was the constant, in your face vendors, but our guide "protected" us as much as possible and the trick is to just keep walking and pay no attention. I have also done Tours with Dora, the first time there, a private tour. It was excellent, smaller group, and we moved right along and saw more different sites/areas.
  2. Still trying to figure out if paying $15 - $25 a day for Orange Club could possibly be worth it?
  3. Greetings, I agree with just about everything that the previous responders have noted. At age 75yrs I don't need the climbing walls, go carts, water slides etc on the ships anymore. Those kinds of activities I still do at ports of call like: zip-lines, snorkeling, ATV's. I do enjoy the relaxation on HAL, pleasant fellow passengers, excellent service. The only thing I miss on HAL is better evening shows like those on Celebrity, Princess etc. I do enjoy Lincoln Center Stage and music walk venues. One thing I have most recently noted with HAL is that they have not drastically raised their cruise prices when compared to some other lines, especially compared to Celebrity which I also favor as a cruise line. I've already booked two HAL cruises for 2023 because of price and perks currently available. I think you'll find HAL very pleasant but I also would not go to Alaska in October.
  4. In all fairness to VeriFly, I actually got an E-mail return answer today to my inquiry. I was told that one cannot actually enter the required information, even booking number and name to get started, until 1-2 weeks out from the actual sailing date. Being a super organizer, I was trying to get ahead, with our HAL cruise in December 2022. Guess I'll need to practice more patience especially since we're also booked with HAL in February and December 2023!
  5. Thanks. Tried again to contact Verifly, as I've previously done, with no response. After the weekend we'll see if I hear anything.
  6. Support.MyVeriFLY.com is an invalid address when attempted!!
  7. And after repeatedly putting in our 6-character booking number and last name, and deleting app and stating over again and again, it constantly said: ERROR has occurred, try again later. Tried again multiple times over four days with same result. To heck with Verifly!
  8. In Bonaire - check out Renee Snorkel Trips. She actually didn't have to drive us very far from where the ship was docked. We did have to climb over some large rocks to get into the ocean but, NEVER have I had better snorkeling. Every type of exotic fish imaginable was there plus octopus and even barracudas. Renee would always come to the surface and tell us what spectacular fish we were seeing. She was also very patient since the friend I was with was not real skilled at snorkeling but she reassured him and he was fine.
  9. I weigh myself before the cruise and during the cruise. There is always a scale in the gym. I never allow myself more than a 1-2 lb weight gain and if I hit that level during the cruise, I have to sacrifice additional creme brulee and tiramisu!!!
  10. Are there plenty of private tours that would include some decent time at Boka Tabla available at the pier?
  11. Have previously taken this train trip. You'll want to sit in the open area upstairs. Believe me, it's nothing like the White Pass train trip in Skagway! You basically just go around the island with a few nice sighting as well as some rather trashy areas. There are free drinks onboard. Unless it has changed, I'd give it a rating of 5/10 at best.
  12. Yes, this link worked for me. As an RN and Hospice volunteer, I received notice in two days that I would receive the additional $100 OBC for both my December cruise and next years February Cruise.
  13. Especially when they used to possibly have fit on you 20 yrs ago!!
  14. So sorry that you have to go through this "entanglement" after your loss. I was scheduled , several years ago, to go on a cruise with a best friend who was treated for almost 5 years prior to the cruise for disease related to Agent Orange exposure. We did have travel insurance secured from a company outside of the cruise line. He died 3 weeks prior to the cruise. I simply filled out the paperwork and submitted it along with a copy of his death certificate. His full refund went to his daughter, mine to me. I hope you are able to work this out with HAL soon.
  15. HAL clear luggage plastic cases with metal connectors for attaching to luggage are available at Amazon. I have a set for cruising with HAL and a different set, narrower in width, for cruising with Celebrity. They are fantastic and of course place on our luggage when leaving from hotel to the cruise port.
  16. CVS is doing the same, due to "governmental rule changes." The sooner the cruise lines take a stand and stop the requirement of pre-testing, the better for their own booking numbers. Luckily, I do Hospice visitations and vigils so I simply place that as the reason for testing. Not cruising again until December so hopefully no pre-testing required by then but, who knows.
  17. We're on the same ship and arrival time on 12/17/2022. Last March we had an 11AM flight home from FLL Airport. We walked off the ship, each with just one roller suitcase, whipped through immigration because the cruise line we were on used facial recognition. Walked outside, saw a number of 12 passenger vans going to the airport for $11pp. We used skycap check-in at the airport, have pre-TSA check-in and were at our gate with almost 2 hrs to waste!! You won't have any trouble at all assuming the ship arrival is on time, which they usually always are on time.
  18. This is the second time I've used VeriFly. We have a cruise in December 2022 so I figured I'd move ahead, and had nothing else to do today anyhow! Went to Manage Checklist (previous photo already in system) that lists the three additional checklist items. The only one I could do now is Upload Proof of COVID Vaccination. However, when I hit it, nothing happens to allow me to photo my vaccination card and upload. Is it simply too soon to be doing this? Inquiring minds want to know,
  19. Yep, after TWO days at sea! Naturally no one needs a Rx for Benadryl which is why I figured the medical facility would have it.
  20. Indeed, best to stay out of the medical facility on all cruise lines unless something truly life threatening. Was strung by a honey bee on the small finger, last March, while sitting in FLL port. Naturally some immediate pain and swelling. Stinger pulled out correctly and ice applied. Really only needed a little Benadryl as swelling continued. Went to the medical facility on this X vessel to seek same, since I spent 28yrs as an RN in a major city ER. I was immediately told that it would be $142 to see the physician who might prescribe Benadryl! Turned around, went back to my cabin, remembered that I had brought some Alka-Seltzer Plus which has 2 mg of antihistamine in it and along with the ice " healed thyself" over the next two days. LOL
  21. The occupancy numbers will undoubtedly continue to rise to whatever parameters HAL establishes. Our 10 day cruise last February, on the Eurodam, was at approximately 58% occupancy.
  22. A good friend and his wife booked through FlightEase for European roundtrip for this summer, 5 months ago. Just discovered that even though they paid for round trip, only the return trip was booked and no flight over. HAL representatives have no explanation as to how this happened or where their money for round trip went nor, after ongoing phone calls, do they seem concerned or even interested in helping. I would NEVER use HAL FlightEase after seeing how this couple is being treated.
