I only did Celebrity once way back in 2010 for a Mediterranean cruise for my honeymoon on Celebrity Constellation. Since it was very port intensive with just 1 sea day I do not recall much of the actual ship itself but in my opinion it was the best food I had on a cruise in the Main dining room and the entertainment onboard the ship in the evening I recall was great. Although I assume now the ship is probably considered an older ship.

Is Adventure Ocean open on the first of the cruise to drop the kids off or is the first day just for registration and Adventure Ocean does not open for the kids till second day?

My cruise end of next month on Anthem will occur during 2 Eagles games as the Eagles will also be the Thursday Night game that week. Not necessarily planning to watch the entire game each time but hopefully will have the opportunity to catch a little bit of it. The cruise will also occur during the World Series. Phillies will most likely make the playoffs but they will probably not make the World Series. If they somehow do then oh boy will have to figure that one out in the evening on the ship....

My take on tips for cruises is simple. Whatever the cruise line charges for tips is what I pay. I will not go to guest services and have them lower the amount but I will also not tip more.

I checked in this morning for my cruise in 45 days and did the apple wallet trick and it showed my cabin room number for the GTY we booked below the barcode.

Will be on Anthem Oct 29th out of Cape Liberty NJ. Cannot wait. First cruise post Covid.

It never hurts to call to see what they can do if anything. I had to recently call them for another issue and there was no wait time to reach an agent so go for it and see what happens.

Regardless just in case I will still bring the vaccine cards for my cruise next month.

Cruise companies need to bring back the "cruise to nowhere". I would certainly do that.

You are allowed to bring 2 bottles of wine and a 12 pack of soda per stateroom onboard. I really cannot answer question 1 as it differs per person but if you think your husband will have at a minimum 5-6 alcoholic drinks per day then the drink package may be worth it especially depending on how much other non alcoholic drinks you and your husband have.

Does not matter, OP bid on a spacious ocean view upgrade and Royal Caribbean screwed up in his Royal Up which should be part of Royal Caribbean.

Will there be Halloween activities for kids like a party for them. I will be on a different RCL cruise during Halloween as well and plan to pack costumes for my kids.

Worth is a relative term. You are on vacation. MDR food is usually pretty good. But if you want to instead have every meal lunch and dinner in a specialty restaurant then go for it and get the package. If I bought it I would have all my lunches and dinners in the specialty restaurants to get my moneys worth. Have fun, you are on vacation. Plus another poster said if you like wine this can also be a great thing to use to save money on alcohol on the cruise.

So basically at a freestyle machine you can only use the thermos? So if you do not want to have the thermos around and want a soda then you will need to go to a bar to get soda?

About the soda tumbler you get, can you ONLY use that at the free style coke machine or can I use a plastic cup there. My thought is having to keep that cup clean on a cruise could be difficult. I like it as a souvenir but would not want to be frequently using it on the cruise as it might be difficult to keep clean.

Update: Due to my wife's medical condition and the medications she takes, with the doctor's note I was able to purchase the drink package without her having to purchase the refreshment package. The RCL customer service agent I spoke with was very helpful in guiding me through the process and granting me the exemption. My wife is fine with me getting the package which is why I wanted to see if there was a way to be able to just get it for me and I am glad Royal Caribbean was accommodating.

Can you get real fruit Smoothies on Anthem of the Seas and if so where? I looked online and it seems like the answer might be no but maybe I missed something.

I do not think there really is a "best time to buy" it is more you need to be diligent and monitor the prices and if you see a price you are willing to spend then go for it. Also make sure you put in your state of residence, you may get a discount based on the state you live in depending on the cruise.

My experience with cruises in general is as long as you check in morning of when check in time starts you should get an early check in time.

Towels and bathrobes?
