  1. Hi CC community, I'm sailing on the Carnival Miracle for a 6 night cruise in January 2020 and it's been a minute (13 years) since I have last sailed out of San Diego. I do not remember what it was like at all. However, we sailed the Carnival Inspiration last year out of Long Beach and it was an absolute breeze - I think we went from arrival at the terminal to stepping on the ship in 15 minutes. I'm flying in a day early and staying at the Hotel Republic, but I want to know what embarkation is like for those who have cruised more recently. How long did it take you to go from arrival to check-in to being on board? What is the cruise terminal like - is there food available for purchase? My husband is a T1 diabetic and I need to know 1) how long embarkation usually takes and 2) if there is food/juice available for purchase in case his blood sugar crashes or if I should bring my own. Also, should we take a Lyft down to the terminal, or is it walkable from the Republic? Thank you all in advance.

Do. Not. Miss. La Guerrerense. I cannot emphasize this enough. The cart is fine, but try to hit the sit-down place and get their fish/shrimp tacos. Unreal how delicious they are.
  3. Hi. Cruised on the Inspiration in May, before the dry dock. In February for a 4-day, it should be pretty quiet. Not a lot of 'college drinking', as it is too early for Spring Break on the West Coast. Not a lot of families either, as it is a M-F cruise. Probably some, as a few will likely take their kids out of school or are home schooled. If you want a quick, relatively relaxing option, this will not disappoint.
