  1. I have been trying to find the answer to the height of the bath tubs, no one even the travel agents I've dealth with can't seem to get that info from the cruise lines. I broke a hip 2 years ago and want a larger room, seems the larger rooms have shower in bathtub. I don't really need a handicap room it's just that I am unable to lift my leg very high.....I was once told when asked this question while on board RCCL that they would give me a stool to step on. WOULD YOU BELIEVE THEY WANT ME TO USE A STOOL TO GET IN AND OUT OF A TUB ON A MOVING SHIP? I'm hoping some one that's in a room with a bathtub/shower can give me the height of the tub. THANK YOU ANN
  2. Cannot thank you enough for the your replies and pictures. I believe this will be doable for me and will be contacting my TA to book a S2 Suite, hope some are still available otherwise will go on waitlist. Cruise is for Mar.2015 Thank you, Thank you, and again Thank you. Ann
  3. Know this souunds like a strange question to anyone who has stayed in a sky suite on the Equinox. I need to know how high is the bathtub, I know they don't have a separate shower, so my problem is trying to get into the tub. I'm a short person 5' tall had hip replacemend last year, I don't need a handicap room siince I can walk fine and don't need assistance with anything else in my daily life. No one from Celebrity can tell me how high the tub is so I can determine if I can manage it. I really like Sky suite for the extra room. Thanks for any info you can supply. Ann
  4. thanks for your quick responses....happy to hear of the wine policy, now if we can figure out how to get them, we won't be putting them in our checked bags, we are flying and have a plane change, so you know how they handle luggage, don't want to take the chance of breakage. Will be arriving late in Fll and will be picked up by hotel van and checked with hotel, no liquor stores near by that we can walk to the following morning before shuttle takes us to pier. Will work on a plan. Thanks again.
  5. Have sailed Celebrity before, however am not sure what their policy is on bringing wine on board for consuming in your room, am confused by some saying it's limited to 2 bottles per stateroom, if so can this be in your checked bag or carryon only. We are flighing in and getting in very late. So stopping to by wine would not work. The other question is regading bringing a clothes steamer on board (not an iron) I think I may have in the past but rules may have changed. Any help on above would be appreciated.....Thank you. Ann
  6. Guess i was not fully awake...staterooms codes the same on the silhouette as the other s class. Sorry.....
  7. Hi, We sailed on the Equinox and are planning to cruise on the Silhouette. I noticed when looking at the deck plans for Silhouette (Celebrity Brochure) that the stateroom codes that show if the room has a convertible sofa bed are not coded the same as the other S class. I checked our room on the Equinox and it had the code, same room on Silhouette does not....with further comparing I see this to be the case through out. Don't know if it's an error on the deck plans, or if in fact it is changed....now I'm not sure if the Bed is near Balcony or Bath. Anyone else notice this? Ann
  8. I don't know if this has been already covered...We sailed on the Equinox and are now planning on the Silhouette, looked at the deck plans (Celebrity Brochure) and noticed the stateroom markings are different than the other S Class. such as the symbol that indicated a convertible sofa bed is not on the same stateroom #'s as the other S ships. That means the bed near the balcony or bath are not in the same location as the other ships.....am I wrong? Any one else notice this...? I'm not sure if Celebrity can answer this change, or is it an error, sure does confuse things.? If anyone has any knowledge of this, please let us know. Thanks, Ann

    golfing?

We will be in Falmouth in Dec. on the Allure. My brother would like to golf, the last time we visited Jamaica we docked at I believe Montego Bay and he booked a Golf tour. Is there a possibility that he can book a golf tour from Falmouth? I understand it's about 40 minutues to an hour to travel to the other side. The Tour page does not list any golf outhings. I don 't know if he will have enough time. Has anyone looked into this? Thanks for any info. Ann
  10. Booking air today for Dec.2011 cruise on Allure...I can get a non-stop on SW but it departs at 11.35AAM.....Will I have enough time to get to the airport, check in and make that flight....the next one is not until 4:15 and they won 't let you check your bags until a few hours before departure. Also, not sure if SW has express valet, they said it's not always available and need to check with cruise line when we board......we would not be able to carry our bags off the ship for early disembarkation. Any info would be very appreciated. Dan
  11. Thanks to both of you for your quick response....I appreciate the info on the noise from the oceanview cafe above, but we wanted an S2 sky suite, can't handle the aft cabins, I find them a little rocky for me, tried them before on several ships and don't want to use a patch or motion pills every day. I guess we will have to tolerate the noise. We did book stateroom 2118, thanks for the video it looked great. Thanks again Ann

  13. We are planning to book this category on the Resort Deck port side. We notice that the Oceanview cafe is above us, that would not be a major problems for us. Our concern is if our balcony would have a large overhang from above to provide enough shade, we spend a lot of time sitting on the balcony and some balconies we have had only were 30 to 40% covered, we prefer fully. Also, we don't want the Aft staterooms. We are aware that even with a large overhang, depending on the time of day you may get some sun, but that's Ok we can handle that. Any info you can provide on this, would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Ann
  14. I just received my printed doc's from Celebrity for our upcoming cruise in Jan. I read the contract and in their forbidden list is states among other items, clothes irons, hot plates, -no mention of steam irons, could their contract be outdated? Also, 2 yrs. ago while on the Jewel of the Seas Royal Caribbean (which also owns Celebrity) they were selling steamers in their ship's store, didn't look any different than mine. Don't know if I'll get the correct answer by calling Celebrity I'm sure if you talk to 2 different people you get 2 different answers.... Ann
  15. Thanks to all that reported on my question about the alcholic packages..we will definitely use the convience of the availabiliy and not having to keep track of receipts knowing it's paid up front. Thanks again, Ann
