Cool Cruiser

Cool Cruiser (2/15)

  1. I actually thought some of the entertainment was ok but the last cruise I recall was Norwegian and Norwegian's entertainment was much better. They had Mick Jagger, Elvis impersonators that were awesome and they also had much better Dueling Pianos performance I agree MSC is cheap. I think one of my mistakes was booking so close to Xmas, but it was week before so didnt realize that parents actually pull kids out to go on cruise to save money from Xmas week
  2. Not to be a buzz kill but I recently sailed the Seascape out of Miami and the food in the regular dining rooms was awful, so was the service. The buffet was awful too and overcrowded. Their private island in the Bahamas is nice but also the food served there , the lines were ridiculously long, it was painful. This was week before Christmas (not week of ) , ship was sold out but in this case you get what you pay for. They also added surcharges if you decided to try a second entree during dinner , which was unheard of on cruise ships. If you do MSC I urge you to specialty dining and if you can get a good deal do their "Yacht Club" level but that will offset any savings. You can bid for Yacht Club after you book a cabin but people have reported in the MSC forums that if you bid , you get twice the amount you bid if you are a single in a cabin Btw, if you visit the MSC forum you will see mostly positive reviews as it is full of fanboys and fangirls , but most of them do the premium level Yacht Club I got a great deal on a solo balcony for a week with Fantastica experience (which is higher than Bella) and also added wifi and drink package with booking which was worth it I tell it like it is, if you have been on other major cruise lines based in NA , this will not compare from a food and service perspective. The ship may be nice but thats about it. Little things irked me too like no tissues or washclothes in the cabin, my shower had a plumbing issue where it would not drain and my feet would soak in gross water and they seemed to be "out" of any food item of value - like smoked salmon (just an example) - and lines in buffet were ridiculous and often when I got to the front of the line they closed and crew could give a rats a.... Knowing what I know now I would glad pay several hundred more for another cruise line including Carnival April is Spring Break season , you might get less kids though given the itinerary
  3. Thank you. I didnt notice it was in lower right of screenshot
  4. What cruise is this? What departure port, how many days, etc?
  5. This is your ship : https://www.royalcaribbean.com/cruise-ships/voyager-of-the-seas 😂 🖖🏼
  6. Damn, just did a solo balcony for on MSC out of Miami for 7 days , week before Xmas for about $1200 with taxes, drink, wifi package etc. Nice ship but food sucked and buffet was overcrowded. Definitely need to buy dining package
  7. Hi, did you do this as a travel agent or just a regular guest organizing a group? Is it a minimum of 8 cabins? I am guessing I should contact the group department to find out. I am wondering which line is the easiest to deal with NCL, RCCL or Carnival
  8. I was searching the web for details on this, and it seems like they need 16 full fare deposits (8 cabins) within 30 days of group creation. When I search for cruises, I typically search for discounts and deals that I am not sure would be considered full fare. Has anyone (non-TA) done groups and is it worth the hassle? Are there other North American cruise lines other than Royal, that make it easier? I have some social groups where I could promote a particular sailing so I was considering this
  9. That could have been it. They even have a pic of one of the raccoons .It was also $36 taxi from Langosta cruise port for 1 to 4 people. It was not free to enter though the price did include chair and umbrella
  10. Multiple cab drivers instead there was only one Palancar were they took us to a mediocre beach in a private club with $20 free. There was a $45 fee that included 2 drinks and a meal. The food was mediocre. There were raccoons all over going on the dirty tables wave begging the waiters for food. I would not recommend it
  11. Ironically the butter chicken was one of the few things I liked. The Indian food was decent (apart from the uncooked naan type bread) but again there were always lines as there were a lot of Indian people on board....
  12. Just came off an MSC cruise for the first time and noticed they recently started adding a $5 surcharge if you order a 2nd entree. I can how this cuts down on waste but it was a real turn off because a lot of times I did not like something, I was discouraged from trying something else. This to me goes against the principle of cruising. I was wondering if this is a specific MSC thing or if other cruise lines were doing the same
  13. Not sure why you doubt my word. Tipping would solve about 10% of the crap I experienced on the ship. Not sure why you love to stick up for MSC - the food in the main restaurants and buffet is crap (YC excluded) . If you can't realize that perhaps you are just use to it. Tons of people I met on the ship also complained about the food being crap. Its crap.
