  1. @Portolan@Scout16 Let's hope the new normal is like the old normal. I was concerned when I read about an early Regent post-covid sailing where solo travelers had to eat alone--and even had to play trivia alone.
  2. When making a reservation as a solo traveller, can you request a shared table? Or do you have to book a table for 1?
  3. Don't think anyone wants it as part of a yearly routine, but you do what you have to do. I think Moderna is working on a combined flu/covid shot, so at least it would be only one jab a year.
  4. Wow this is great news! (Presumably Florida will appeal but in the meantime NCL has require proof of vax.) I guess I'll go ahead and make the final payment due tomorrow on my January 6 cruise (Navigator) out of Miami.
  5. I'm curious to know this as well. Interesting that they have hired Dr. Scott Gottlieb as a consultant, and that the ships will have "ICU level" medical facilities. https://www.travelweekly.com/Cruise-Travel/NCL-vaccine-mandate-is-a-competitive-advantage
  6. This would presumably doom the Tauck Bridges family tours, since only children 12 and older can be vaccinated now. We are booked for a Rhine family cruise in 2022, including 3 kids under 12. Have to hope vax for younger children will be available then.
  7. So in the meantime Crystal can require proof of vaccination for passengers boarding in Florida?
  8. Thanks. It was just odd to me that all the other ports had excursions listed, but not Santo Domingo. Has Regent gone there before? I can see why they wouldn't go to Port au Prince these days.
  9. I'm booked on the Navigator Caribbean cruise starting Jan 6, 2022. Made my selections for shore excursions a while ago, but at that time Santa Domingo was shown as TBD. Just checked again today and there still aren't any shore excursions listed. Does this mean they are thinking of omitting the port? Or just not offering any excursions there?
  10. First trip on Regent will be Navigator Complete Caribbean, 30 days starting January 6, 2022, from Miami, assuming ships can sail from Florida by then. I think this is Navigator's first scheduled cruise back.
  11. Thank you so much for posting this!
  12. We were booked on two Tauck river cruises in 2020--family Rhine and musical Danube. Those were cancelled and moved to 2021. Now THOSE have been cancelled and moved to 2022. Surely by July 2022 cruises will be happening more or less normally. Waiting to see what vaccination requirements will be by then. Adults and oldest grandchild are vaccinated; younger grandkids are not eligible yet. I don't think Tauck is requiring vaccinations from under 12s right now, since that's impossible, but I suspect that will change.
  13. Today (April 29, 2021) Tauck cancelled all its European cruises and tours through July 15. We had a family Danube cruises scheduled July 3, but could see the writing on the wall, so postponed to 2022 a couple of weeks ago. My TA said the Tauck rep told her that it was going to take them "three months" to reach out to everyone they were cancelling. Hopefully the rep was joking, but perhaps that's a heads up NOT to wait for them to call you.
  14. Today we cancelled and rebooked Rhine and Danube cruises from this summer to summer 2022 - Tauck. We were able to get two triples on the Rhine before they got sold out. These are of course already rebooked from 2020. Here's hoping!
  15. Florida gov Ron de Santis is banning vaccine passports there. So how will this work for Crystal once they start sailing from Miami again? I suppose there are other ways of proving you've been vaccinated, the CDC paper card for one.
  16. Our Rhine and Danube cruises starting in 2nd half of July have been cancelled. Rebooked for 2021. Here's hoping!
  17. My travel agent said she was told Tauck is doing the cancellations in semi-monthly batches to handle the volume, and that cruises through July 31 would be cancelled this week. We shall see.
  18. As of today (April 15) Tauck has cancelled all its cruises (and land tours) with departure dates through June 30. https://www.tauck.com/travel-policy-update We're booked on a Rhine river cruise in mid-July, which is looking pretty unlikely right now.
