Recently I played cabin roulette and had to spin the wheel a 2nd time. For my upcoming cruise on the 16th of January i booked guaranteed stateroom. Booked my voyage in early November. Received and offer to bid for an upgrade but declined to bid. Nov 18th: Purchase voyage for Jan 16th in guaranteed stateroom Nov 20th: Bid upgrade received (declined bidding) Nov 23rd: Cabin assignment appeared on my account Dec 15th: Cabin assignment switch back to guaranteed Dec 20th: Cabin assignment appeared and now in same category but now on mirrored opposite side (ie starboard side instead of original port side). Regarding points accumulation, I believe the sky is the limit (There is no limit). However I also believe BoA points will expire 5 years after they are earned. So my Jan 2022 B2B 10 day per leg voyage on the Gem was booked under 1 reservation. On the 1st leg I think we skipped the 1st 2 ports and on the 4th day of the voyage we ended up in St Marteen. We would later learn that we were staying in St Marteen overnight and the next day. It was also announced that the remainder of the 10 day voyage was cancelled and we would be returning to New York and getting a refund plus a FCC of 110%. At first people were angry but we returned to NYC on the original scheduled date (10 days later). The 2nd leg of our B2B voyage in Feb was slightly different. It made more stops then the 1st leg but to random destinations but the 2nd voyage wasn't cancelled and returned to NYC as scheduled 10 days later. The thing was after we returned, we received a full refund to my credit card plus a 110% FCC for both voyages (1 & 2) as we booked them under 1 reservation. They refunded all of our purchases made for both voyages. They even refunded the 60k in BoA points that I had used to upgrade the room. We used the 110% FCC and the funds to book another voyages in Feb & March 2022 on the Gem. Same itinerary as before but all different (random) destinations. They were also without a single supplement surcharge so it was cheaper to book 2 rooms and get double the sapphire benefits for both rooms. My only thing on voyages 3&4 were and I have since corrected was that passenger #2 wasn't' a stock holder with NCL so I wasn't able to apply a shareholder benefit to their cabin and they didn't have a Cruise next certificate in their own account so I've transferred CNCs to their account so they always have at least 1 ready to go. The offer from AmEx will show up in some people's account as a Reward Offer and not others. It's not random, but I don't know how they decide how and when it shows up. You just have to look on your AmEx account every now and then. The way I use it is to pay down the remaining balance on a future cruise booking by what ever the amount is. I believe you may be able to use it to pre-pay your gratuities. For bookings made on or after April 1, 2022, that prepay their service charges before their sail date: $20.00 USD per person per day for The Haven and Suites; $18.00 USD per person per day for Club Balcony Suite; $16.00 USD per person per day for all other stateroom types Typically I'll use my NCL BoA card for all NCL related purchases, but when this deal comes up I'll use my AmEx for the $1k purchase. I submitted my shareholder benefit in March 2022 for a cruise in Jan 2023. The benefit was approved and was attached to my account in April 2022. When I went to check my account and voyage in Oct 2022 the shareholder benefit was no longer associated. I send an email to the normal shareholder benefit submission along with a screen shot of the benefit there in April but not there now (Oct). They sent me back a case number to follow up with them. The light switch for the bathroom/closet area functions normally. In the shower, making small adjustments to the water temperature can significantly change the water temperature. The TV sometimes forgets how to operate and need the power cord reset in order to return to normal functions.

I understand there is a weight limit to the baggage allowance of 50lbs per piece, but I always wondered if it would be possible to bring a full size appliance if I kept it in my room. The thing is that I have a house in near San Juan in Puerto Rico. Since last year, major appliances such as dishwashers, refrigerators, washing machines and dryers take a long time to get to PR even if they were possible to order. However if the ship starts in NYC and goes to San Juan, PR, I've wondered if I could transport the item with me in my cabin and then bring it ashore in San Juan, (if it didn't exceed the weight limit by too much) or if there was an extra cost involved. I know a bribe would be required once and if it reached PR to get it ashore. I've seen passengers on different cruise lines (not NCL) allowed to bring their own motorcycles. But I imagine it was also very expensive to do. - WYB

On a recent B2B voyage I asked my cabin steward from Indonesia if he wanted anything and he asked specifically for pork rinds. So I got him a bag and also some bags of chips. Have you ever ask you cabin stewards if they would like anything from the outside? If you haven’t give it a try.

I go with candy as a gift on the 1st day. I find it's just a positive morale boost as turn around day is typically their hardest day.

I like to bring a few bags of assorted chips for the cabin steward, and I'll also bring a big bag of candy (from costco, sam's or bj's_) depending on the department size for the front desk, excursions and cruise director staff. Then cash also at the end for the cabin steward.
