Had Covid-got it from a cruise-extremely sick for over a month, but WON’T cruise IF mask mandates are in place. I now having breathing issues (long covid) so wearing a mask makes breathing even more difficult...if you are worried about getting sick then by all means wear a mask, but please don’t impose that on me!

Wondering how spectacular the NZ fjords are compared to the ones in Norway...is it worth it to do the 22 hr flight? Thanks for any first-hand info you can provide!
-
Ours took almost 4 weeks (just got it last week)....they sent me an updated cruise summary of the booking once it cleared...i checked my account everyday....good news is that you can pre-book excursions using that OBC
-
Did the OP possibly go through a third party booking agency..,sometimes you think you are on the official site when you look up the phone number, but instead are booking through someone other than Princess

you can pick your AA seats at booking IF the flight is not a code share...I always look for the non-code share flight (they usually run $75-150 more)

early ticketing allows you to upgrade using your own airline points for specific airlines before all the seats are filled...but if you want to change your flights then you are charged a fee

If only 1 person has a serious case of Covid, and it increases 100%, that is still only 2 serious cases...just saying....

so if you are not allowed back on the ship after testing negative, do you need to pack up everything just in case you test positive?
-
You definitely do not need a jacket or tie...question answered
The OP wanted an answer, not the tired dress code debate
Times change, be flexible and go with the trending informality...life is too short to get caught up in others annoyances

One glimmer of hope is the decision of bringing Rudi Sodamin from Holland America to oversea Princess food operations. From out recent experiences (pre-COVID), HAL's food quality is much better. We'll give him 1 year to see if any improvements have been made (he came over this year).
On our HAL cruise 2 yrs ago the food was so bad I sent it back 2 nights in a row...I have never ever sent food back in over 60 years anywhere! The third night I was too embarrassed to send it back so went to the buffet and got a handful of crackers...spent the rest of the cruise eating off ship as much as possible...actually lost weight on that cruise...lol

Husband was disembarked in South America due to medical condition. We had to pay out of pocket for everything...flights, meals, transportation, hospital etc. We were told to keep all receipts and we would be reimbursed....we were reimbursed for everything, but it took almost 3 months...the total was just shy of 12k!

Any thoughts on when the next sale will be coming...waiting to book Japan
-
Just ask to be seated with others...larger tables for 6 or 8 will be easier..we have often had solo cruisers share a larger table
-
IMO there is no comparison between them...Norway has spectacular high mountains with steep cliffs that you cruise between, Iceland has mountains that you drive to (much like ours in the US). Norway is a different experience when cruising through the fjords! IMO...Norway without a doubt!!

Formal nights
in Princess Cruises
Posted
Those of us on the “other “ side of the pond are much less formal than most Europeans. PCL is definitely not a premium cruise line and therefore when they “suggest” that you dress to pretend like they are, well......
We can go out to dinner and easily spend $400 for a couple and have much better food and service, I wear jeans (which cost about the same as our dinner and are more fashion-forward than some of the formal attire we’ve witnessed), others are dressed in similar fashion, and everyone is happy...(nobody snarks about others attire)
Cleanliness is absolutely a must, but let’s not try to impose our values on others when we’re on vacation...if Covid didn’t teach us that life is too short....well, enough said
