  1. So I get an arrival time of 1:00-1:30. I get in line at 1:15. I then have to wait in line to go through their security check. I get past the security check and it's 1:45. They direct me to the line that says "late check-in" which looks to be 10x longer than the "on-time" line. So, to be "on-time" you have to arrive at least 30 minutes (better yet an hour) before your scheduled time. What a fail by Carnival. ☹️
  2. My friend has an early flight with his cruise out of Seattle. I wondered if anyone can tell me (or him) appr time to get off the ship if everything goes right. Obviously he'll be up early and walk off but I didn't know if anyone had any recent or past experience with this ship/cruise port. The other thing is his brother only has a birth certificate. I'm not sure if that will add more time for him getting off the ship. Thanks
  3. The hardest thing for me is keeping a smile off of my face knowing how peaceful my cruise will be.
  4. Forgot to ask. Do you when, and how to tell when double points show up? My booking will be 13 months from now so I should get the double points with the $50.00 OBC.
  5. Did the OBC show up while your booking or after? Did you contact a rep or did you just go through the online process for booking?
  6. I wouldn't be too concerned because many people aren't isolating anyway. I'm sure there are some but I'd bet there are many who are going about their daily routines regardless of Covid status. At least that's what I've been witnessing.
  7. I just the email myself.....so happy. 😁
  8. The question lingers as to what exactly "lab-administered" means. When I've done CVS/Walgreens tests I pulled up to the drive through, swabbed my own nose, handed my "test kit" to a cashier, and drove out. To me that's not any more "lab-administered" than a proctored at-home test. I'll bet people will be able to board using the at-home proctored method but I wouldn't want to bet my vacation on it. Hopefully someone here on the boards will "take on for the team" and try the proctored method after Aug 29th to possibly give us more clarity on this.
  9. If MSC will still be accepting CVS/Walgreen then I can't then proctored tests should be ok since IMO CVS/Walgreen tests are not "lab-administered". In fact, the last time I went to Walgreens for cruise Covid test the associate handed the test kit to without even asking for my ID.
  10. Probably the same thing he would say if he was infected by someone untested in the airport, restaurant, grocery store, shopping mall, amusement park, etc.
  11. My guess is they would react the same as if they were infected at the airport, restaurant, grocery store, gamily gatherings, school, work etc....
  12. Has he ever vacationed solo? It's really no different imo. I've been doing traveling/vacationing, cruising for the past 25 years and love it.
  13. The status of "Orange" is useless because ships are unlikely to ever be "Green" again and if they do make it to "Yellow" it will likely be short-lived. Covid isn't going away and if someone has concerns that a ship had over 0.3% of their passengers testing covid they probably shouldn't be cruising because 99% of the ships are at that threshold now.
  14. 93 out of 94 cruise ships are currently in "orange" status. This is information is useless.
  15. It looks like travel is not covered by insurance. Am I correct? If so, do you think free testing was available in the past and is not currently available? COVID-19 Testing & Health Services | Curative Under what circumstances is COVID-19 Testing not covered by private insurance? COVID-19 testing is NOT reimbursable by private insurance (outside the state of California) for purposes including, but not limited to, the following: Epidemiological purposes Surveillance Community tracking Employment purposes, including staffing decisions Determine need for personal protective equipment Screening (e.g., travel, sports, school, camp, recreational, social requirement)
  16. Looks like OnPoint has a few "glitches" but if you're prepared you can get by some of them (have confirmation number, cruise booking number, and passport number on hand). Some said it went easy while others struggled.
  17. Please follow up with your OnPoint experience. Thank you
  18. Just learned about this option from a different thread. You can have your at home test read online (proctored) and they will email you results that should work for travel. https://onpoint-testing.com/product/certified-teleservice-covid-testing/
