I'm on Edge (see my signature).

I'm starting to get concerned that I haven't heard from the shoreside concierge and my cruise departs next Friday. It's been nearly 3 weeks since my EV bid was accepted and I've been studying up on the benefits since then, but I would have expected to hear from them by now. Is it possible to contact them without being contacted first?

On the Joy going to Bermuda 11/`12 Balcony Cabin. Bid on 8 Haven Cabins, bids varied from 350pp to 650pp. Bid 200pp on Club Balcony Suite. 7 days ago there were at least 35 Haven rooms still available.
Just got my upgrade, a Club Balcony Suite. How much does one have to bid to get into the Haven ? Last time I got in there with a 400 bid per person on the Breakaway. Oh well, will make the best of it. Thought I would get into the Haven, but it was not meant to be.
In order to increase your chances of getting a Haven upgrade, you should not bid on the Club Balcony Suite. It's more advantageous for NCL to upgrade someone already in a Club Balcony to Haven even if they've bid less than you, since they can then upgrade you to their former room. Club Balcony upgrades in general are more likely to happen since there are more of them. If you forego bidding on Club Balcony that keeps your Haven bids open for potential last minute cancellations, whereas once you win a Club Balcony bid you are disqualified from bidding on Haven.

I submitted my bids 50 days out and was upgraded to a suite 30 days out, at which point all suites showed sold out. It is definitely worth submitting your bid as early as possible.

We have an Canada/NE itinerary for Oct 2023 onboard Liberty so am I to assume that Bar Harbor will be a no and when will RCI notify us about this change?
The initiative is supposed to permit any existing port bookings to continue as scheduled, so your itinerary will likely remain unchanged. Fall 2024 is when the changes would start to come into effect for cruise lines that haven't already confirmed their schedules.

I did see they are offering Extra Double Points offer starting today for select 2023 sailings!
TWO EXTRA LATITUDES POINTS PER NIGHT ON SELECT CRUISES
Booking Window: November 9, 2022 - December 5, 2022 11:59 pm EST
Applicable sailings: Fleetwide - 3+ night sailings in 2023 only
The second extra point is new, but unfortunately it's the same select cruises as they have shown for at least the past 3 months.

It would if any of the others had Pepsi. I don't think any do now?
Carnival serves Pepsi.

I didn't notice before but of the 8, 2 are handicap accessible, further limiting the standard inventory to 6. Those will be hard to come by, like most of the suites other than the Seaside Family ones.

Have looked throughout the entire ship and cannot find any Category labeled Sky Junior Suite (all the JS I can find are Sea class). Just curious what is the cabin number you booked?
There are only 8 of them, near the front of the suite neighborhood on decks 16 and 17. The forward-most suites on those levels are the 10 Panoramic suites, with the Aqua Dome enclosing what would otherwise be the balcony on those rooms. I'd expect both categories to be very similar aside from the balcony design.

History shows that no matter how ridiculous suite prices look on the day a brand new class of ship opens, they only go up from there. If you really want a suite you're best booking on the day sales open, or you may be waiting a few years to get a lower price.

My PCC has been calling 2-3 times a week lately. I tried to tell him to take me off his list, but he still calls so I just don't answer. When I'm ready to book I'll do it online.

Does NCL have any Black Friday sales for excursions, beverage packages, etc?
I can't say I've ever seen a cruise planner sale on NCL. Most beverage package and excursion discounts come via Free at Sea and/or loyalty perks. As for cruise fares themselves, they'll likely just continue the same sale they've had all year with a different name.

You “think” that? If you don’t know it, you shouldn’t say it. You’re spreading fake news. It's not fake news. Anyone who was watching prices when they first started the % off "promo" can tell you they greatly inflated the prices before offering the "discount".

Don't all the Oasis class ships have them leading to the gangway?

There was a 2 year extension on CruiseNext certificates purchased pre-COVID, so those would now expire in 2025.

The biggest issue with the vaccine requirement is for those of us stuck with cruise credits from 2020. They won't offer any refunds, only name changes. After rebooking 3 times I've ultimately settled on a December 2022 date that I'll be going on solo if they don't let my unvaccinated partner sail by then. I don't really want to sail solo and don't have anyone else to take. I'd rather keep my credit until they lift the restrictions or just get a refund, but they seem set on the end of 2022 credit expiration date with no plans on changing the rules. I just want things back to normal like they are in my everyday life, with people free to manage risks on their own terms.

This is one of the things we considered when we booked out Alaska cruise on the Encore in 2024. Our sailing is 10/20, so not only are we hoping for a some great deals, but with it being in late October, our weather might be a little more "Alaska-like."
That date is so late, I wouldn't be surprised if most of the tourist-oriented stores and attractions have already closed up for the season. NCL looks like the only cruise line that operates through the end of October, while the others are gone by the first week of the month.

When I first saw this article, I figured "sooner than expected" meant by this summer. I have a hard time believing any restrictions make it another full year when everyone else has moved on. If they're going to allow people who were vaccinated over a year ago with a single J&J shot to be considered fully vaccinated, they might as well let everyone cruise since the efficacy is about the same.

I don't understand why NCL sends out so many brochures. I'd gladly accept spam emails instead, but at some point I opted out so now I only get these. I don't recall getting them this often before COVID either, which makes me question where they get the money from to pay for them.

excellent. should be interesting what that name will be.
then comes the ICON class which I think will also be very interesting to see if it is going to be a combo of the last two classes or something really different.
Icon is actually due to be delivered before Oasis #6. Icon #2 will be after though.

What's the reason the first sailing back should start on the Atlantic side of the canal?
We were booked on the March 20's cruise from Panama to the Caribbeans (wanted to go diving in the ABC islands) and b2b on the March 29 from Colon to San Diego. Now the 3/20 is cancelled, we're not sure if we still want to do the 3/29 which involves buying flights ourselves, and getting from Panama city to Colon. NCL may still cancel the 3/29 cruise.
Norwegian Jewel is currently in Marseille, France and ultimately needs to get to the west coast in time for the Alaska cruise season. It makes the most sense to only do a single Panama Canal transit to get in position for summer. Since 3/20 was scheduled to depart from the Pacific side of the canal, it would have had to reposition empty through the canal in order to be in position to do the transit back through the canal as scheduled on 3/21. Transiting the canal is expensive and congested, and without paying passengers doesn't make a lot of sense.
The 3/29 is probably safe since it departs from Colon and the ship has to do the canal transit at least once anyway. There's always a chance that port restrictions or COVID cases could force them to reposition directly to the west coast without passengers, but I think they'll make every attempt possible to generate revenue from the necessary canal transit.

I was booked on the 3/20 Jewel and despite deciding not to go a long time ago, I held out until last week before cancelling. The writing was on the wall when they cancelled all the previous cruises, as it made no sense that they would reposition the ship through the Panama Canal empty just to sail right back through with passengers. The first cruise back was always going to start on the Atlantic side of the canal. I hoped to get a discount certificate when they cancelled, but in the end it wasn't worth making a financial commitment.

They sometimes have the fancy seafood buffets on special sailings, such as inaugurals. It is not typical on every sailing.
