  1. My son and I ate at Primo's Italian Kitchen & Bar and had a nice meal. It is in the little mall that is between the Marriott and Doubletree. You can access the mall near the check-in desk. The are restaurants, a few stores for convenience items, a pharmacy, etc. Look at the DoubleTree by Hilton Biscayne Bay website and it will give you an idea of some of the restaurants that are there.
  2. I made a mistake and moved to 6570 (I confused port and starboard). Are we above the smoking area in 6570? There are 3 of us in the room and I'm hoping to fit 3 chairs on the balcony. This balcony looks a little bigger (on the deck plan). 6562 is available and it looks even bigger. I just don't want to be above the smoking area because one of my friends has asthma. If we are above the smoking area, any suggestions on which obstructed balcony stateroom for 3 I should ask to move to? Thanks.
  3. Thank you. I didn't realize some hotels offered transportation to/from the port. I thought we'd have to Uber or take a taxi. With that in mind our budget should be $300. If we can get a good rate we thought about staying someplace like the Embassy Suites Berkeley Heights NJ the night before, and parking at the port the next day. The hotel looks like it is "on the way" and google maps says will take roughly 30 minutes to get to the cruise terminal from the hotel. Does this sound feasible? The part that is appealing to me is the ability to "get on the road" after the cruise and not have to shuttle somewhere. I'm the driver, and I have to work the next day. 😞
  4. $200-$250 for the hotel if it includes parking. Likely route: PA turnpike to 78. Thank you!
  5. Hello, I hope I am in the right place. I apologize if this has been asked and answered, I'm having trouble with the search function. Last night we booked Anthem's 3/22 sailing. Our group is 3 ladies, late 40's to 70. This is our first cruise from Cape Liberty. The current plan is to drive from Pittsburgh the day before. We're looking for a clean, safe hotel with two beds and a roll away or sofa bed for Saturday 3/21/20. It would be nice if there is a restaurant at the hotel or one nearby (within safe walking distance). We've been to NYC before so we do not plan on doing any sightseeing. We don't mind waking up and having an hour to drive, but really don't want to be further than that. Also, Is parking at the port our best option? Thank you in advance.
  6. Host Clarea, I moved across the hall to 6570. One of my friends has asthma and h20skibum pointed out the other stateroom was above the smoking area. There are 3 of us, and it looks like the balcony might be a little bigger. What is the bed/sofa placement in this room? Thanks in advance. Robbiesox15 I just booked this room type and found this web page helpful. You can't click the yellow photo icons without a membership, but you can see the black photo icons and the links to YouTube videos. https://www.cruisedeckplans.com/DP/deckplans/deckbydeck.php?ship=Anthem-of-the-Seas&deck=6
  7. Thank you! This will be the first time I've been in a room with the sofa by the balcony. Now I'm trying to find out about the obstruction. I can't believe I just booked another cruise! 😁
  8. I just booked 6168 about a half hour ago. I hope it is OK. Does anyone know where the bed is - by the window or by the bathroom?
  9. August 2nd? I'm on the same cruise. Can't wait! Have a great time!
  10. Thanks for the tips and review. I'm sailing on her a week from Friday. I loved Coco Cay in June. Can't wait to return! I agree about Nassau. It would be so much nicer if we could stay overnight at Coco Cay.
  11. This came in the mail yesterday. Sorry not the best picture
  12. We didn't get a free lunch. Is this only for certain cruises?
  13. I took a chance and booked the stingray excursion simply for the lower price. Our cruise was last month. Other than a wristband that indicated we had the stingray package, and having to pay for food and drinks, there was no difference. We never saw the stingrays. We simply got off of the tender, went straight to the desk to rent an umbrella, and stayed at the beach all day. The umbrella rental was $25 and came with 2 tickets for free rum punch, Bahama Mama or non-alcoholic punch. I was with my 16 year old son, and we had 2 free drinks each. . As I mentioned, you're on your own for food. There is a "hibiscus lunch package" you can purchase which I think might be the same or similar to the "included" lunch with the deluxe beach package. It is $20 per person. There is also food available a la carte which is what we chose. I bought pieces of pizza (they were actually round, 5" in diameter), and an order of fries for $21.28 including tax. There were dispensers of ice water around the seating area. I'll try to post pictures. I didn't get a picture of the a la carte menu but have a picture of my receipt. PS. I'm also from Pittsburgh 🙂
