  1. I downloaded OceanReady and couldn't get it to work, it's really glitchy so I gave up on it. Will I still get the Medallion when I board or will I get a regular cruise card?
  2. I know with the private tour operators you have to book in advance as the passport data has to be submitted to Russian authorities at least 4 days prior. But what about the cruise ship tours? Does the same rule apply or can you book last-minute? We'll be in St. Petersburg for 2 days on a Princess cruise and I'm considering booking a private tour with a local company (due to the fact that we are traveling with children and none of the ship tours seem suitable). But what if the local tour guide doesn't show up for whatever reason? That would be horrible as we wouldn't be allowed to leave the ship (unlike other ports where in the worst case we would just explore on our own). Would getting on one of the ship's tours on Day 2 in St. Petersburg be an option (so at least we'll see something)?
  3. We are considering booking a private 2-day St. Petersburg tour with Anastasia Travel. They are asking to prepay the tour in full. Is it customary? I would expect paying a deposit now to book, and paying the balance once we get there. For those who used Anastasia Travel, what was your experience?
  4. We will be in Copenhagen with kids ages 14, 12 and 10 in August. We want to walk around Downtown to get a feel for the city, and also visit Tivoli gardens and take a canal cruise. We do not want to go to museums and none of the ship tours sound appealing. Is it reasonable to DYI or should we hire a private guide? Since there are 5 of us, getting a taxi that fits us all is a challenge. We've never taken public transportation in Europe before. Thanks in advance for your help!
  5. We'll be in St. Petersburg this summer for 2 days on a Princess cruise with 3 kids (ages 14, 12 and 10). I'm looking into local private tour companies and need help developing an itinerary. The kids are easily bored by museums, churches and long narrations about history. I'd like a brief overview of major historical landmarks with photo stops (vs going in and spending hours there), and what I'm actually looking for is EXPERIENCES. For example, lunch in the Russian restaurant with locals, visit to a Russian market, etc. What type of kid-friendly experiences would you recommend for my itinerary? Thanks in advance for your help!
  6. We are a family of 5 (2 adults, 3 kids) taking a cruise out of Helsinki this summer and flying in the day before. What hotels would you recommend to stay prior to cruise? Thank you!
  7. Is unlimited Internet package that I can buy on princess per passenger, per cabin or per device? I called customer service and the rep said per device, but can I log out of one device and then connect another device? Or once the device is paired with that internet account, there is no way to switch devices? Thanks in advance!
  8. I booked our international flight through Princess EZ Air. I talked to the Princess reps twice before booking the flight through Princess EZ Air website, but they gave me conflicting info and didn't seem to know what they are talking about. I'm hoping maybe you guys can answer by questions :) 1) The flexible fare that I got was $500 per ticket less than restricted fare, which doesn't seem right. What is the catch? 2) Is the price on my booking confirmation locked, or can I end up having to pay more if ticket prices go up (since I haven't paid anything yet)? 3) Since I selected a direct flight (and there are very few direct flights there), is it guaranteed that this is the flight I get, or can they put me on a different (non-direct) flight? I'm flying with kids, so getting a direct flight is really important. 4) Is it worth calling Princess air department today and pay for those flights, so they can issue tickets and make them restricted? Thanks in advance for your help!
