  1. Heh, I asked the exact same question last week! It made no sense that Celebrity would charge more for 2 people 2 devices vs 1 person 2 devices. The answers I got was that there is no disadvantage of getting the cheaper plan. You just have to login with the same user account instead of 2 different users. BTW, if you are going to get WiFi plan, get it now with the Flash Sales. I just cancelled my pre-book premium WiFi and switched to the Flash Sales price and saved over $200 for 12 days cruise with 1 person 3 devices plan (there are 3 of us in the cabin). The original price for 3 people 3 devices was like $1000. Changed it to 1 person 3 devices was like $7XX. Now with the Flash Sales it is $5XX almost half off the regular price.
  2. That's $2503 for a 7 days cruise for 2 people with 20% tip just for drinks. 😁
  3. Just want to report that after catching up on this thread this morning, I went back to the site and look. The drink package price went up just like other people posted. It still says 50% but the original price went up so 50% off also went up. Zero proof package remains the same at only 5% off for Pre Cruise Sales not Flash Sales. I would totally get the Zero proof if it is also 50% off! Come on IT dept... make that mistake and accidentally make it 50% off.. I know you can do it!
  4. Haha thanks! I cancelled my previous order and ordered the same again and saved $200!
  5. Travel router could connect to hotel, cruise, or other internet (wired or wireless) and then create a private Wi-Fi connection for all your other devices to connect to. It was really popular back in the day when many hotels only has ethernet connections, and when Android OS does not have the same functionality. They are not expansive and could save you a lot of money especially on cruise when they charge you an arm and a leg for each additional device.
  6. Yeah that's okay. The price difference was pretty significant too for Premium Wi-Fi on a 12 night cruise. My Pixel 7 could do shared Wi-Fi connection when it is in airplane mode with hotspot on. Technically, I really only need 1 person 1 device plan and just shared my Wi-Fi if any other devices are within 10 to 20 feet of my phone. Interesting enough, iPhone does not have that capability.
  7. I found on internet $3 for soda, and $5 for premium water. You will have to drink 10 cans of soda every day to break even with the zero proof package.
  8. If I just buy Wi-Fi for 2 devices for 1 passenger, it is a LOT cheaper than buying Wi-Fi for 1 device per passenger for 2 people. I am not sure I understand the logic. Any down side of just going with the 2 devices for 1 plan and the devices would be my phone and my wife's phone? This is on Apex.
  9. None of us drink alcohol, so we didn't do all included. I thought about buying the $30/day zero proof package but with 7 port days and 3 sea days, the 3 of us can't really drink $1000+ worth of beverages on board. If they still have the previous cheaper non-alcoholic package, I may have gotten it just so don't have to sign receipts.
  10. 5 days! You would be lucky if it is 5 weeks now with expediated service. I just renewed mine, earlier this year, with routine service and it took 12 full weeks.
  11. I think Spain, France and Italy only need 3 months so you should be fine. Although if you renew it now with expediated service, you will probably get it back before end of July. Not sure if you want to risk it or not.
  12. If you don't have any drink package, do they still just scan your room card and give you the drink? They can charge the drink to your account, right? Does it include the 20% tip or you have to tip each time in cash?
  13. Exactly. When I was a cashier at a gas station, we all (all the cashiers) hated the $2 bills, but the most hated bills are $50 bills. We also hated the $1 and $0.50 coins. There is no place to put those in the cash register. If you put them outside, they might get lost. If you put them under the other bills, you could accidentally give out the wrong change. The only place is under the drawer and that's supposed to be $100 bills only.
  14. Tokyo is the cleanest city I have ever visited. The problem with that is that they removed ALL the public trash cans. People take their trash home to throw away. I once carried a piece of trash for like 2 hours because I can't find a place to dispose it LOL. I thought a public bathroom in the mall will for sure have a trashcan, right? Nope, they don't have paper towel just air dryer for hands. I finally found a MacDonalds, and they do have trash cans!
  15. Wonder if they will let you bring sodastream on board. I know the CO2 canister is not allowed on flights, but if you are driving to the port... Sodastream is probably lighter than 12 pack of seltzer and one canister could make 60 liters (over 100 bottles) of seltzer. 😁
  16. Are people who got booted booked directly with Celebrity or used a TA? Or a mix of both? I wonder if they are more likely to cancel the people who booked directly with them (because no one is backing them up), or more likely to cancel the people who booked with a TA (because they want to encourage people to book direct to maximize profit). I was just in Maui recently and one of the tour guides was telling us that when the car rental companies were all overbooked for their cars after covid, they would boot the ones who booked early at lower price (in order to maximize profit), but they would not dare to boot anyone booked with certain warehouse store travel agency names start with a C. He said the travel industry knows not to mess with them.
  17. Aren't most cruise ship's tap water from reverse osmosis filtering? That's same water (reverse osmosis) I drink from home. I remember they tasted pretty good at the cruise. Hotel tap water, on the other hand, is hit or miss.
  18. I think on Infinity, there are Euro outlets near the fridge and American outlets on the desk. You can call, but you could also email them special_needs@celebrity.com to request extension cord and distill water. My guess is that even with confirmed call or email, you won't find extension cord already connected when you got to the room. You will still have to tell your room steward to set it up when you got there, but at least you tried. I think most of the older (not refreshed) ships do not have outlet near the bed.
  19. This is not good, because one of the reasons to do that is to reuse the tail shell to plate the next lobster plate. There is really no other reason to remove lobster meat from the tail especially one of the reason to have them on the shell is to make it look bigger. Once removed from the shell, even bigger lobster tail meat will look small.
  20. Spam is actually quite expansive. I just paid $4 for a 12oz can of spam at local Stater's Brother because I was craving musubi. When on sales at Stater's Brother, rib eye steak could be down to $4.99/lb which is cheaper than Spam.
  21. And there is small "SM" after it meaning it is a service mark. So it is a service they are providing that is related to "FULL". I am thinking it is just the same "Everything is included" but given an unique name to represent the brand. Also "Everything is included" is probably misleading as not really everything is included such as excursion and specialty dining, etc...
  22. I am almost certain that it will be a small piece of NY steak as Manhattan is a small piece of NY LOL. IMO, NY steak is already kind of small comparing to ribeye or T-bone. I would rather have the Prime Rib than a full size NY steak.
  23. I think what you described is "Beef Manhattan". "Manhattan Steak" is a smaller trimmed cut of New York Steak.
  24. It is about the same price as candy in movie theatres. Grocery store inside-store shelf: $1 to $2 Grocery store shelf by checkout: $2 to $3 Movie theatres: $4 to $5
  25. Does it work on cruise ships? It uses GPS right? Unless you are on the top open to sky deck, I found that GPS location does not work at almost anywhere else on the ship as there is too much metal around like you are in a parking garage. I remember using a GPS app to track my location of the ship on my last cruise. It ends up showing me in Florida, then teleport to the next port, showing up in the middle of ocean, teleported to the next port, etc...
