I have booked a surprise cruise for my husbands 60th birthday, this will be our first cruise so sorry in advance for all the questions.I really wanted to keep it a surprise until we landed in Palma but I’ve read that you are given luggage labels at your departure airport,is this right? I’ve decided to go on the ship excursions this time, has anyone been on the Florence/Pisa excursion is it worth doing or should I just pick one of them? Can you have beer in the MDR or do they only serve wine? Can you order 2 drinks at a time from the bar to save having to queue ( I’m not an alchy honestly):) thanks so much for your help .
We have just come back from a cruise starting in Palma & got a luggage label put on our cases before we got to bag drop

Excellent Kanes I hope you have a great time, looking forward to review, pics etc.
Are you going from Gatwick too?
So far I haven't found anyone going in March but I'm sure somebody must be!
No, we are travelling from Birmingham, it’s our local airport so we always travel from there

Don't worry we all do, we did Valetta for the first time last year it was May day absolutely fantastic time. Caught the lift up from the port and you can pickup the BRB for a trip round Malta. Be on deck for sail in and out [emoji3]

So nothing Summer 2019?
Enjoy your cruises, but this is a thread for Summer 2019. Just trying to keep it on topic.
Apologies. I answered on the wrong thread

Hi does anyone know for definate whether any visa's are needed for the cruise with the following itinerary please:
Langkawi, Penang and Malacca - Malaysia
Singapore
Koh samui, Bangkok - Thailand
Phumy (Ho chi minh city) - Vietnam
Sihanoukville - Cambodia
Port Klang - Kuala Lumpur
Also does anyone know the distance from these ports to the main areas/city? and what the weather is like Mid March please?
Thank you
I am doing that trip in Jan 2019 & was told by a TUI travel agent that visa would be arranged on the ship. I’m travelling on an Irish passport & my husband on a British one. I will check again nearer the time cos I’m still concerned about it.
There doesn’t appear to be a lot of information available. I contacted Marella & didn’t get a satisfactory reply that made any sense to me.

Hi all,
Does anyone know if they will be going out to the Far East in 2019.I would love to do the cruise on the Discovery this year, but unfortunately can't because of work. But would love to do it next year when I retire.
SWEBY
I am going in Jan 2019 & looking forward to it :D

Going to the Eastern Med on Celebration in just under 2 weeks on 10 May, then Far East on Discovery in Jan 2019. Have just come back from a week on Spirit so I think that will be my lot this year

We are flying to Malaga

Thank you, that's what I thought might happen

I wondered about cases too. I'm going on 30th April on a Thomson flight & have no idea if the lady I see of the bags is at the airport, or if I take them off & put them on the transfer bus.
It's all very confusing

Thanks for the positive words re the Celebration. I am going on my first Thomson cruise on 30th April ( have cruised with P & O) & had noticed a few reviews that complained of excessive vibrations.
-
Thank you, makes me feel happier

Thank you all

Am a newbie on here and have just booked my 1st cruise with Thomson (sailed P&O before) doing the Continental Coast trip for 7 days on April 30th. Although I'm looking forward to getting away I'm a little apprehensive as I've read mixed reviews on this line. Does anyone have experience of this.
Thank you for reading

Yes, you collect your cases from the carousel in Palma, put it on the coach & then you don’t see them again till outside your cabin. You can take your sun cream out before it goes on the coach.
Dubrovnik is the only European bonded airport as far as I know, where you don’t see them again
Enjoy your cruise
