  1. I am sailing on the Vista in early February to Cozumel, Belize & MB Roatan and am already looking at the (Carnival) excursions in these 2 ports. First of all, there aren't a lot of options, maybe they'll add more later? Second of all, of the ones listed, nothing is really jumping out at me.

For those that have been there, can you share what you did or does anyone have any recommendations? I am not opposed to just getting off the ship and doing stuff around the port if there are things to do.

    Thank you!

P.S. - we were in Cozumel this past March and did Nochi Coccum, which we will probably do again

  2. If you combine all the choices you get with the program, alcoholic drinks (w/top shelf liquor if you ask for it), discounts on a whole bottle of wine or whatever, non-alcoholic drinks AND not having to constantly keep tabs on your spending or worry about that end of the week bill, it's totally worth it. In my opinion anyway :D

  3. I am going to contact Carnival about this but in the meantime, I thought I would pose my situation here and get some feedback.

I have a booking for just me and a friend of mine has his own. Same trip and everything (Vista in Feb. 2019), we just don't have roommates, so we thought we could be each other's roommate, basically needing to cancel/rollover one of our bookings. (*we are doing this to split costs and such, as paying for the double occupancy rate, plus drinks packages & excursions, gets spendy for one person, lol!)

Has anyone ever done this before? We have both paid deposits but no additional payments have been made, at least on my end. Do y'all think there will be some sort of penalty fee or something?

    Thanks!

  4. information provided is too vague.

So answer is going to be vague.

    Most likely.

"Most likely" would've been sufficient but thank you. I don't know what other information you would need. He's a single paying for double occupancy so I'm just wondering if Carnival charges some sort of change fee to add the 2nd person to the booking.

  5. I would consider the all-inclusive beach getaway in Freeport. It wasn't absolute paradise but the water was pretty, food was decent, waitstaff nice & attentive and there are those giant water toys out in the water. They look like enormous inflatables. Or look into a resort day pass, that's probably the better thing to do at both ports.

  6. I never hit my 15 drinks but I am pretty sure I had enough of them and enough bottles of water to come close to breaking even. I'll buy it again on future cruises. It also helps that you don't have to worry about how much you're spending! Oh and be sure to get the little Cheers sticker for your sail and sign card before you start ordering!

  7. They put "holds" on your card to make sure you have enough the cover your charges. The bank is then sometimes slow in removing the holds even though Carnival has closed out your acct. That's why if you use a debit card you have to make sure you have way more than enough to cover the charges.

I do so it will sort itself out? Could I call Chase and ask them to sort it out? :D (Thanks for replying!)

  8. Hi y'all! Just got it back from my first cruise, a week on the Breeze and I loved it! I have questions about my final payment though. When I called to order the cheers drink package on the phone, prior to departure, something got messed up and it never went through so I had to pay for it on the boat. I had already applied cash to my sale and sign account but had to use my debit card to pay for the drink package. My final statement shows a total amount that will be debited from my card (the cost of the drink pkg. & a few more dollars) but when I log into my bank account, I see several random charges pending from carnival in random amounts. Any idea what that is about? I assumed I would see a pending charge for the total amount of $287 and some change but I don't.

    Thanks!!!

  9. Hi y'all! First time cruiser here, leaving on the Breeze next weekend!

I had a question about the cost of CHEERS. Is the 15% gratuity on the $49.95 per day a one time gratuity or is it that PLUS 15% per drink?

In other words, I am going to have to pay $57.44 ($49.95 + 15%) per day for a total of $344.64 for 6 days, right? Then, am I also going to be paying 15% more per drink that I order under the package? Like, if I order 15 beers in a day, will I need to calculate 15 more % for each of those? What about water and coffee? 15% for each one every time I order one?

Sorry to sound so picky, I am just worried about spending and trying to keep it under control AND, more importantly, I want to know what to expect on my bill at the end of the trip, lol!

    Thank you!!
