Wife and daughter on the Quantum at present time stayed pre cruise at the Kingsford Smith Motel and will spend 2 nights there post cruise, both raved about it over the phone. Fantastic room close to facilities and the staff could not be more helpful.

Complete load of rubbish, don't know where the Covid info came from but with so much "Fake News" in the USA I am not surprised. The facts are the Quantum OS didn't have a Covid problem and the Australian Covid Laws were scrapped months before this occurrence. The fact that Royal over booked and by the way admitted in writing of doing so speaks for itself. That's the reason boarding was denied,no other excuses. Being loyal to RCL I very rarely criticize but people being bumped is happening to often these days with both RCL and Carnival and should cease. I am the up front to criticize our Australian Governments covid laws, however the facts are they had nothing to do with these poor people getting bumped, the laws had long gone.

The Kingsford Smith Motel is a very nice place to stay and very easy on the pocket. Hamilton ( Portside) is a good place to stay.

Dead set right Chilli, has to be in the top 5 acts I have seen on a cruise. Wish I was onboard to see her again.

Chilli I take it your mate Big Gav gave you the info on the Voyager, makes sense a smaller vessel as the Quantum has been sailing below capacity and heavily discounted prices. Kids sail free and Uni students special rates have helped to get numbers up a bit, but alas not capacity.

Having been aboard must concur with MM the TV was pure USA according to DW. Never watch TV on a cruise however the missus likes a quick peak and was disappointed.

Face facts Carnival's PR is not going to tell the State Government that they can't fill there ships in Melbourne. Why does Royal, Celebrity NCL and most others not homeport in Melbourne, most have tried and the answer is the same they can't obtain capacity. So the State gives Carnival an easy way out by increasing port fees. Your right it's a Furphy, talking of Furphy's I'll be having a few schooners of the brand tonight at the RSL.

The bread on this ship is outstanding, all sorts of grains and rye and the Loaf in the Tin at The Wake is to die for.

For those who are going to cruise on Resilient Lady, The Dock is a great place for Tapas. The Show called Persephone is also very good.

Station Pier belongs to the age of Ocean Liners when migrants from Europe in the late 40's and 50's were coming to our shores by ship. To say it needs refurbishing is an understatement, it needs replacing. Having done the Maiden Virgin Cruise which was great and only marred by embarkation and disembarkation. The Terminal is a relic of the past,however when you have State Governments with no interest in investing in Cruising or no idea of the Tourist dollars it generates, Station Pier will slowly sink into the Bay. Both sides of the political spectrum are equally to blame. Put some goalposts on the ships and call it Cruiseball and watch the $$$ flow. During Covid Tennis Australia were 60 million in debt, Dan the Dictator said don't worry we will cover it. Don't blame the Companies for abandoning this facility when they are going to pay extra for a product that is not going to improve. TTLine built their own at Geelong for that very reason. Make no mistakes Virgin and Disney will be out of here as soon as berths are available in Sydney, home porting will become a thing of the past in this city. Overseas cities are investing huge amounts in new and existing terminals,it's a pity it's not happening here. OK end of rant.
