  1. We too sailed from Barcelona, taxied to hotel near port (did not go into Barcelona) and then taxied to port next morning, was easy. We flew direct from Newark to Barcelona. Sailed from Rome/ Cive… also, harder to navigate for us, airport not close to cruise port. That was also Newark to Rome.
  2. We were “very” pleasantly surprised by the amount of storage in the Interior Cabin on the Seashore. Do not know if the same is true of the other Classes of Ships. Upon returning home I did book an Interior on Seascape. Hoping not too many people read this positive report of the Interior Cabin, there are few and they go quickly!
  3. Agree completely, our first MSC was Divina in 2015/2016, very different, we met wonderful International cruisers, probably ratio of 90% to 10% Americans, now that has flipped. My take on this - whether right or wrong - all the complaints MSC got was from cruisers who wanted their experience to be the same as every other cruise line they had ever experienced in America - MSC changed to try to please the complainers. Sad! All this to say though is we do still enjoy our cruises on MSC, just not like they were at one time.
  4. @MsTabbyKats always interesting to read your posts. Two weeks ago Seashore Yacht Club Interior Cabin was our first Yacht Club experience after 12 MSC cruises, was “almost” up to what I expected after having thoroughly read everything I could find about it. About Room Delivery Pizza, we could not get it delivered to Sun Deck either, were told that ended recently, so had it delivered to Cabin and took it to Sun Deck. We did enjoy the dining room and the beverages, I am the wine drinker and husband drinks protein shakes, seltzer water, etc. From what you said I can certainty understand why you “may” have come to the conclusion that what you pay for what you use is a little out of line. You mentioned Carnival, we actually cruise between Carnival and MSC these days, enjoy both lines, both different experiences. (We always look forward to Carnival’s Brunch Menu and the dining room breakfast menu as well, have our favorites.)
  5. Yes, it means a section is roped off for Yacht Club, your Butler will walk you down or you can go on your own.
  6. We called Uber and asked that we be picked up at Starbucks which is just across the street. Sorry, not sure where taxis line up.
  7. You got a lot of answers to your initial question about why choose Anytime - one more thing to note - whether set time or anytime - lunch at venues is complimentary no matter the number of times you go.
  8. If you choose Celebration make certain you choose “anytime dining” so you can take better advantage of the various dining venues. We are doing Horizon ABC’s in September, cruised on Inaugural TA many years ago, Celebration of course is a newer ship and very different from tradition cruise ship layout. Either a great choice.
  9. We have sailed Meraviglia two times and had a wonderful time, the ship is gorgeous, very different, but we enjoyed the change. Have been on 15 MSC cruises and never had a bad experience. But as you know from these Boards, whether it be MSC or any other cruise line, there are always the ‘haters’ who are very verbal in their complaints and not so verbal with their praises.
  10. For us, never felt the upgrade offer was worthwhile, we were Interior on Seashore and pleasantly surprised at amount of storage and even spaciousness. So much so booked an Interior on Seascape for husbands birthday cruise.
  11. Thank you for taking the time to share with us! We were in St. Croix several years ago (husband spoke at a church) for two weeks so enjoyed the Island at that time. Quick ?s - 1) is the path/roadway/walk to Sandcastles easy to find and 2) if we simply want to get off ship to stretch legs, is it worthwhile to see as we most likely would not rent chairs, etc., would do a relaxing round trip? Do not recall visiting that beach.
  12. We had a Yacht Club Interior booked and several times received an email offering to bid for an upgrade to various balcony types.
  13. Tried editing but too late - was mistaken - did further research - we stayed at Holiday Inn Express Norfolk Airport (not a Marriott).
  14. Four of us, all adults, stayed in a room with a pull-out couch close to airport (it was Marriott brand, had breakfast) then took Uber to cruise port next morning, ride reasonable, maybe $30. However searched but could not find hotel we stayed at. But wanted you to know trip to cruise port is not a terrible price from a hotel near the airport.
  15. @Linda W.not sure date of your cruise, if over how did you find the Interior on Deck 18? It is hard to tell if Interiors are indeed all the same size. I booked one on Deck 18 yesterday, limited choice, but as most people who choose an Interior say they are seldom in the cabin.
  16. This year I failed to do my research and booked March 31 on the Seashore out of Port Canaveral, first time in Yacht Club and there were many more kids than i anticipated, and not particularly well behaved either, although I must add I don’t completely blame the kids, parents were pretty oblivious to their kids behavior during dinnertime. However I remain a “cheerleader” for MSC.
  17. We were in an Interior on Seashore (March 31 cruise) and actually very pleasantly surprised at size and storage. Did get upgraded offers but never did it. Only three Interiors left on Seascape in November so decided to book, husband’s bday cruise, decided he was worth it - ha. Oh yes, husband is 6’ and space on Seashore worked ok for us, but everyone is different. I am relying on the fact that Seashore and Seascape have similar size Interiors. Perhaps on the Meraviglia if that is what is going out of NY the Interiors might be a different size. BTW we love the Mera but never cruised Yacht Club on her.
  18. Finding the same as you - just cruised yacht club Seashore and want to book yacht club Seascape in November and prices are $1,000 more than what I had paid - might pull the plug though - would be annoyed if they went up - btw how did you get the $100 off email?
  19. Oh yes, survey done. Behavior was observed evenings at dinnertime, somehow we were always seated very close to it. The last evening we left the dining room my daughter stopped to visit with a family she observed all week with well behaved kids during dinner, complimented them, well deserved after others we saw/heard. Didn’t intend to draw out my rant, apologies.
  20. It was our first Yacht Club cruise after 12 MSC cruises. From all I read ahead of time I feel everything was “average” compared to some of the other comments people raved about in their experiences. That’s not to say we didn’t have a wonderful time, we did. (Well apart from the whining/noisy/misbehaved kids that parents seemed oblivious to in the dining room - my one rant!) Will definitely try Yacht Club again on another ship. I realize every experience is different.
  21. If anyone interested, currently on Seashore as is @FamilyAtSea.travel but in Interior Yacht Club Cabins on Deck 19 and IMHO they are extremely spacious with ample closet and drawer space (not sure if Interiors on Deck 16 & 18 are the same), I would not hesitate to book these again.
  22. @APDMOMappreciate Curaçao notes, plan to follow your “path” in September.
  23. Easy Plus can be used - Easy cannot - there is a difference. Oops just read @Mags92 response, already answered.
  24. Yes your luggage will be moved for you. We always tell our steward early in the cruise that we are doing a B2B. We also take a couple large bags (such as as those $1.00 TJM bags) so we don’t have to get everything back into our suitcases for the move, makes it easier and quicker.
