  1. I'm trying to calculate the impact of the speed issue on the Trans Atlantic route. If I'm interpreting the previous posts correctly, the loss of the generator will reduce the speed by 3 knots. From Wikipedia the maximum speed is 21.5 knots. Assuming they are planning on a speed of about 20 knots the first leg of the cruise to the Azores from Fort Lauderdale is 2,824 Nautical miles. At 20 knots, this would be 5 days 21 hours. At 17 knots, it would be 6 days and 22 hours. Let me know if you see any mistaken assumptions.
  2. I think it was an innocent miss-interpretation of the situation based on no information, and perhaps a bit too much optimism.
  3. Thanks for the update. I got the same update on the TA roll call - looks like they are having generator issues. Darn.
  4. This was just posted on the TA roll call suggesting the generator problems have been fixed. Any other news or updates from folks on the more recent cruise?
  5. Do you recall the approximate price for the Brisbane shuttle? We're on Ruby Princess and trying to plan out our Brisbane excursion. Thanks, Gary
  6. Did Princess provide a free shuttle when the Majestic princess docked in Brisbane? There's a discussion in the Ruby Princess roll call for an upcoming trip and we're not quite sure what to expect in terms of shuttle buses: https://boards.cruisecritic.com/topic/2543973-october-23-2019-ten-10-day-sydney-to-queensland-rt-ruby-princess/page/6/?tab=comments#comment-57589512 Thanks, Gary
