Now that I’ve been out, it does seem not as crowded.  The San Lorenzo market didn’t seem bad.  Mercato Centrale wasn’t bad.  I’ll head further into the Centro tonight and see how it is.  I’m taking the midday in my room - it’s getting hard to be walking around in a city in 99+ heat.  It just bakes you.  I swear I have not sweat this much ever!
some food porn from the Mercato: the Tagliatelle del Tartufaio was my lunch, along with an Aperol Spritz.  Truffle oil was drizzled on top of the salad.  Yumskers.

Love reading your posts about your exciting adventure!  Thanks for sharing😀👍 I love Italy and so far 2 of my trips have been canceled for this year😟 I hope to make it there by Fall.  Have a great time! Stay safe.

  2. I had to renew my passport recently to have the 6 months available at the other end of it due to traveling to Italy.  I downloaded the forms, sent it in with expedited processing.  It took about 4-5 weeks to receive back.  Since I live in MA, I used the mass.gov site for the info.

Good luck and happy & safe travels 😄

Update:  I called Lufthansa on April 6th to request a refund for their canceled flight.  I just received it this week.

Thank you for the update on that, I am waiting on a refund because they canceled a flight one month will be August 9 and I am waiting for the refund.  I called and requested it by phone.

No, you should not be charged any admin fees if Celebrity, and not you, cancelled the cruise.

I contacted Celebrity and they responded just now with an email, regarding the $75 fee that they said was non-refundable.  They apologized for the mistake and for any inconvenience and it should show up as a credit in 30 days😉. I’m happy to hear that and then it will be the end to my refunds😁

Celebrity cancelled our Sept. cruise and I was offered 125% FCC or refund. I requested refund - we had only paid our non-refundable deposit but I was under the impression because Celebrity cancelled we would indeed have our deposit refunded. Today I got notice of a FCC. So that is how it is working?😒I booked directly with X - should I try calling them?

I had a non-refundable deposit and I received mine back

Has anyone had experience with airlines and cruise lines refunding purchases because of the EU not allowing Americans to travel to their countries. If we can’t travel to an EU country how can they provide the service. Tomorrow I begin cancelling a land trip to Poland and a Transatlantic cruise from Italy.

I had flights going to/from Italy mid July w/Aer Lingus and I knew it would eventually be canceled or rerouted.  They just canceled and I called and asked for a refund.  I had a trip booked to Sardinia for Sept. and that was w/Lufthansa and they canceled and I have a refund on that as well.  My hotel was canceled and no $$ lost there either.  Now, just waiting for the $$$ to hit the CC.  Good luck☺️I followed conversations on TA as well to aid me w/information.  I was really looking forward to these trips (LAND only) and it is sad this has happened.

Received another amount credited back on my CC, now only short $126.50.  It was posted the 3rd and it I saw it this morning.

Just received another $51.50 credit to my CC from the canceled cruise 3/14.  Only $75.00 left to go.
In comparison, a Tour was canceled last week for a trip in September, the $$$$ was back in my account in less than a week!  The Tour Operator is based in Australia, it was not a cruise.

    Hi cjcruiser27,

    > Do I wait for the flights to be hopefully canceled in order to receive my money back?

Look in your airline's Contract of Carriage to see what your rights and benefits are if the airline cancels your flights.

    > do you think if I cancel them, insurance would cover the costs of them?

No, your insurance won't reimburse you the costs of the flights. At best, it will pay the change fee. Look to see if your policy included "Itinerary Change" coverage.

    Does this make sense?

    Hi Steve,

Thanks so much for your QUICK reply!!  Yes, I understand what you are saying and I will look.

So the money I paid for the insurance is probably a loss?  OUCH

I will keep reading and come back here with any questions. Thanks again..Cheryl

  9. Hello Steve,  I purchased trip insurance 8/2019 for a tour and flights  The tour just canceled and told me that my money would be refunded except for the deposit.  The deposit can be saved for a future trip in 2021 or 2022.   I purchased the flights separately.  This is not a Cancel for Any Reason insurance.  If I cancel out the flights now, I would loose money.  The trip was for mid September 2020.  Do I wait for the flights to be hopefully canceled in order to receive my money back?  Or do you think if I cancel them, insurance would cover the costs of them?

Thanks for any advice.  I did email the Insurance company as well to see what they offer for advice.
