  1. As someone that is also WFPB with no oil (my cardiologist prescribed this diet for the record) so I get it :) I had to compromise and eat a whole lot of things I would not eat normally on my Viking cruise. I figured 1 week was not going to kill me, I stayed away from the meat and animal products but choices were either drown in oil or very few things I could eat safely. Oceania is coming out with a Plant Based menu. (just FYI , google it )
  2. It was the generation who now are on Viking cruise ships :)
  3. Exactly, If you did the tour with Blexie in Cuba, that would qualify for 1 day of People to people. I was lucky and just got back from Cuba a week ago, (2nd trip) Will fly in and stay for 3 or 4 days and see more of the island.
  4. It took away the P to P but it did not take away Cuban/Americans from going there to see their families, Nor does it seem to take away the In Support of the Cuban people category. Also if the ship sails for another port that is not USA and then goes to Cuba from that port does that count? And if the ship is not American ship can he tell them they can't go? It says planes will still fly there because they won't restrict families. Does it mean we can not go there from Mexico? Does it mean we can not fly there in support of the Cuban people? How about the other categories? Religious activities? (My last trip we spent time at the synagogues, Jewish cemeteries, holocaust exhibits.) Humanitarian Projects? I was there last week, the people are struggling as it is and this only hurts the innocent people, it does nothing to the government. They don't care, they are rich. I feel for the people we met.
  5. I think the "administration" is making you mark PtoP so mark PtoP.... and go on your private tour. That is what I did this week for my cuban visa, I had no problem leaving the ship coming into cuba.
  6. I just got back from Cuba (I was there Monday) this is my 2nd trip I was there last year on NCL Sky, this year on Carnival. I booked a private tour both times (Havana tours with Blexie - $130 for up to 3 passengers in an old car for 6 hours, they will take you where ever you want to go, they also have a plan of where to take you if you do not have a plan.) The ships are just trying to sell you something. No one cares where you are going as you get off the ship, they don't ask you and immigration in Cuba does not care either, they just care you have the visa . I heard from others they felt from the ships that they did not have a choice. To do the P to P you must do a ship tour, But you can go on your own with the Support of the Cuban people choice.
  7. I booked a private tour with Blexie cuban tours last time I was in Cuba (his email is blexie100588@gmail.com ) Private car (there is your old car ride) and a guide for 6 hours was $130 CUP's for up to 3 people. ( 3 people or 1 person, price is the same) The guide really knew his history, English was excellent. Took me every place I wanted to go. They have a standard tour of places to take you if you don't have special places you want to go. I am going back on Carnival in 2 weeks and have booked with him again. I have a new list for him. He has several guides working for him. If you go to the Cuba boards you will find others that will vouch for Blexie also.

  9. I booked last year with Blexie https://havanatours.wixsite.com/blexie Private tour, driver and car, $130 CUP up to 3 people for the same price..Tour was for 6 hours. They all meet everyone near by the ship for your tours (there are many of the private guides, Blexie has several working for him) . I have re-booked with him in 2 weeks. Guide was very knowledgeable, English was excellent, took me every place I wanted to go. He also has a standard tour of places they will take you if you don't have a list of where you want to go. 10. My vote is Viking. No children, You can bring bottles of alcohol on the ship with you, laundry is free, rooms all have balconies, service is great, An excursion every port including. I loved my viking cruise, wish I could afford them more often!
