  1. I compared my longest upcoming cruise on the app on my iPhone and on Safari and Chrome on my iPad. The app on my phone showed the ports that currently are showing excursions each individually, but my iPad on both Safari and Chrome shows only a couple of ports and then all the cruising days but then has the excursions totally mixed up as if I wanted to view them all instead of by port. Royal has really one of the worst IT for a corporation so large.
  2. I’m not sure if this is still the way Disney handles chair hogs, but a few years ago we were at their resort in Aulani Hawaii. Their way is that every hour the attendants went to each chair and folded the towel neatly over the top of the chair. When they came back the next hour, if the towel is still there, they took all the belongings back to the towel station and the guest had to go get them. It wasn’t a lot of work for the attendants, many people were in their chairs, or one family member was while the children swam. But it worked!
  3. Thats if there’s any chairs left open by 8am….most will be empty with towels or a shoe or a book …etc
  4. I noticed it was wacky this morning. I didn’t check all my cruises, but on a couple all I see are sea days, no ports. its wonky and wrong on Celebrity too….mot surprised, their IT dept isn’t the best. EDIT TO ADD ……it’s not working using the app for royal or Celebrity either.
  5. I try to do it often, but forget sometimes…….that is until it acts up. But even in doing that I still need to turn off WiFi calling every so often. Not a big deal though.
  6. We have a crappy signal at our house too, so we also keep wifi calling on all the time….but oddly occasionally I can’t get a signal at all , and I have to turn WiFi calling off in order to make a call, I don’t know why it’s just my phone, hubby’s always works.
  7. I agree to what @brillohead wrote and wanted to add that I use messenger for talk and video calls to my daughter because she doesn’t have an iPhone. Both the video quality and phone connection is just as good as home, and actually I never use FaceTime at home either.
  8. It’s refreshing to see ANY lower prices / or savings deals on royals sailings 😁
  9. The only difference to the app with this release that I see is the addition of the Gift Card Hub
  10. We don’t let it bother us, but think about it, it must affect their salary in some way or they wouldn’t be doing it. And I’m sure they are just as uncomfortable asking it as we are hearing it. Lately we find we’re eating less and less in MDR because the same limited menus, so we dont hear it much. Any criticism should be aimed at Royal for making them do this, not them.
  11. The difference on the Rome sailing was there were many more guests and children. The ship was much more crowded, and not that I don’t like kids, but the feeling after that boarding was not comfortable and relaxed and quiet as it had been. It was way more noisy, more like some 7 might cruises we see in Florida. Kids running around some unsupervised. We’re not fans of the amusement park cruises that seem to now be flooding the market on Royal now, so we would like to see a smaller ship with less people overall. It looks like we’ll need to cruise a more luxury line with less guests overall, or wait for Discovery class (which looks too far away) before we would join a World Cruise in its entirety.
  12. Hubby uses the case it came in, but I also bought a tag that says “ Medical Equipment “ that I attached to his case. That allows him to carryon 3 things, because medical equipment isn’t considered a carryon.
  13. I fill out the form online from special needs for Hubby……but most of the time our room steward doesn’t get notified so we just ask him for distilled water and cord when we see him. A few ships have an outlet by the bed, but for those that don’t I also always bring a lot of strong magnets so the cord is draped on the ceiling over to the outlet on the desk.
  14. We love Labadee and hope it reopens for both passengers to enjoy the beauty of it and for the people of Haiti to earn some money to live.
  15. I guess I need to see the whole video. But it does sounds like the full cruisers didn’t like the changes, and I get it. I noticed it right away and was happy to be getting off after those 9 nights. But the only way to avoid this is for a cruise on a really small ship, like Silversea or Oceania or other lines that have smaller ships. Currently Royal doesn’t have that… they should have pushed up Discovery class. Silversea is very fancy and very expensive and the thought of how much a world cruise would be on that is crazy….it’s also a bit stuffy, the guests on posts I’ve read frown on a man not wearing a suit to dinner…can you imagine that on a world cruise. I saw how the full cruisers dressed like they would do at home, very very casual, and I don’t mean it this way but some would think sloppyISH (not me I don’t care what people wear) Silversea guests would be aghast. Royal needs to fill the ship to make this work like it should and they can’t do that now IMO.
  16. They’re tolerable 🤣🤣 especially after the first glass 😁
  17. That’s exactly how we change our gifts. We usually get the wine and if local cruise. We just take it home, but on European cruises I make sure to change to other amenities on the cruise before the European ones. and then before I get off that I go back and change again to wine for the local cruise….sounds confusing but it’s easy
  18. Interesting, so the reason I wondered was that we got on in Ravenna and that segment was so special, we could feel the comfortableness of the guests with each other and the crew. I cruise enough to feel the difference. I can pick up the slightest changes in energy. On the second segment the entire vibe of the cruise changed. I said to my husband as the guests came onboard that the VIBE changed and I didn’t like it at all! A couple that we met a few days before the second segment began said the same thing. The vibe was off. So possibly that would be a reason for the question. Did he answer?
  19. Where did you hear that? Was that asked by M Bayley to the guests, or the guests to Bayley?
  20. Pat these are the exact same reasons we couldn’t do it either. The two that stand out for me first are the food, I also like to cook and at home we eat delicious healthy food not slathered in yucky sauces and salt , and second the noise. I’m not one that likes crowds or noise and when at home which is where you’ll find me most of the time, I don’t even listen to the radio. I said in a prior post to someone that said they wanted to be like Mario and live on a ship that to me that would be equivalent to living in an assisted living with an ocean view. And I love cruising! Welcome home!
  21. When we first started cruising we ate way different than we do now. But we didn’t cruise often, the cruises were shorter and we were much younger and no drink plan. Being D+ now there’s no way we drink 5 drinks each a day, so we get sodas or water. And we eat very well now too. We found if we eat like we do at home, that works. We never gain weight….well usually 🤪
  22. Oddly we both love Radiance class ships and have been on Brilliance many, many times in Europe, this time is because we really like the itinerary. We don’t sail on this class much other than in Europe and occasionally from Tampa port when we just want to get away for a few days.
  23. Even that’s too long for DH. As it is I always have to drag him…..until he gets onboard that is. Next year I twisted his arm to combine 14 on Apex to Norway, 9 nights In London, and then15 on Brilliance back to Boston….. I had hoped he wouldn’t add it all up….but he did, so maybe he will be onboard for. Longer cruise….. I’m excited to see what they’ll offer on the next UWC, both ship and itinerary.
  24. I was thinking that when I read it….very good for stockholders, which we are 😁
