I notice from your signature that I have some catching up to do when it comes to cruising from Baltimore.

Right now we don't cruise for the stops it is a getaway from work, so Baltimore is great for us.  It is only a three hour drive and we don't have to deal with airports.  We love Grand Turk and HMC.  CCL had plans of building a new pier in Freeport and hope that we be similar to the one CCL owns in Grand Turk.

If Carnival intends to keep sailing from Baltimore if has to be a Spirit-class ship.

Along with the Spirit class of ships (which we love) CCL still has four remaining Fantasy class ships that would be able to sail from Baltimore.  I hope in the future CCL decides to build additional ships that can continue to serve the ports with size limitations like Baltimore.  For now the Spirit class has a lot of life left.

Does anyone know what time the Port of Baltimore opens for parking?  We live about an hour from the port and we are trying to decide when we should leave home.

The port opens around 11:00am, but it varies based on the ship's return from the previous cruise.  The  earliest we have been allow in the parking lot was around 10:30.  Once the ship docks in the past it would take 2 1/2 to 3 1/2 hours for debarkation.  Not sure how it will work now with new protocols.  We live in NE PA (about 3 1/2 hour ride) and I use a cruise ship tracking website to determine when we should leave our house.  We have sailed a number of times from Baltimore and never had a problem, parking in on site located next to the ship.  Enjoy your cruise.

  3. Governor Hogan order the Port of Baltimore reopened on May 15, 2021. The Governor indicated he wants to bring his state back to normal, not the new normal.  Now we have to see how CCL and RCCL work the reopening.

  4. I don't consider the VIFP Club a "status" I consider it as a thank you from CCL for being a repeat customer, if I recall correctly one of the highest repetitive customer base in the industry.  We have been on many cruises with CCL and believe in the product CCL provides.  If my loyalty to a brand provides me a value add in my opinion it should not be given to everyone nor can it.  In this case we are discussing priority boarding which we receive as a Platinum guests on Carnival.  If someone that is not at one of the VIFP Club levels that provides priority boarding and the other perks they can or someone else can purchase FTTF.  We have done in the past for friends and families we recommend try CCL and they appreciated the gift.

  5. Based on Governor Hogan's order it looks like the Port of Baltimore is reopening on May 15, 2021. The Governor indicated he wants to bring his state back to normal, not the new normal, before Memorial Day. The port indicated it is working with the cruise industry and CDC for restart protocols .  I hope the CCL and RCCL work together to get this port up and running.

  6. Why?  Temporarily removing a barrier that can assist in helping the cruise industry restart.  People can now visit Disney, all inclusive resorts and other vacation spots, why not cruise ships?  Cruise lines can put in place the same precautions as land based resorts.  By suspending the operational stop in a non-US port requirement would help the USA economy in areas that relay on travel dollars to support their local citizens and businesses, in this case Alaska and Washington.

  7. We are scheduled to cruise in December 2021 and I have added it to our App.  Suggestion, go to Carnival's website log-in and select "Manage" tab, select "My Booking".  If your booking is not listed you may have to added your booking or call CCL for assistance.

  8. We love the Pride, sailed out of Baltimore 10 times.  Love the layout, no need to go up and down steps to get from one end to the other. Always sailed full but never felt over crowded.  The onboard teams was always great, not sure if they will have the same leadership team since so many ships were retired.  Love the Dive-In Movies.

  9. We have sailed 10 times on the Pride and all but one time we were on the starboard side.  Based on our experience sailing on the Pride most of the time the starboard side was pier side, but it depends on the port and how many ships are entering the port.  We have stayed in obstructed view to the larger extended balcony staterooms and would agree with others most balconies are great, but I would try to stay away from inside corner balcony staterooms of possible, for example staterooms 7206 & 6220.

  10. We have been on 17 CCL cruises and didn't receive the Cheers offer.  We discussed booking a cruise if we could get the Cheers offer.  Spoke to our PVP and he said he was not provided the logic behind who received the offer, he said it was a random draw.  CCL may have gotten a booking from us if we received the Cheers offer.

What are they doing during drydock? Has that been shared yet?

I don't believe info on the updates has been published yet. Per CCL webpage it is still on schedule for drydock from 4/10/21 to 5/16/21.  We sailed on the Legend once and can't wait to see the updates!
