  1. I use this company called CIBT. American Express Platinum recommends them. They even offer same day service I believe. Sent from my iPhone using Forums

  4. From NBC News We are extremely saddened to have learned that a guest passed away on Sunday aboard Norwegian Gem. ‎On Sunday afternoon, the ship’s medical team responded to an emergency call from the pool deck, as a ten year-old female guest was reported unresponsive. The team quickly administered CPR and full emergency care. After extensive efforts, the guest could not be revived. We extend our deepest sympathies to the family during this very difficult time. Norwegian’s care team is providing full assistance and support to the family. Norwegian Gem departed New York on Saturday on a seven-day Bahamas & Florida cruise.
  5. Royal Caribbean Announces Allure of the Seas Will Undergo Repairs in February 2014 MIAMI, Nov. 14, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Royal Caribbean International announced today that a mechanical issue has made it necessary to perform unscheduled repairs to Allure of the Seas. The repairs will take place at Grand Bahama Shipyard, in Freeport, Bahamas, the week of February 24, 2014. As a result, it will be necessary to cancel the February 23, 2014, sailing of Allure of the Seas. "We sincerely regret that we will be unable to deliver the Royal Caribbean cruise vacation that our guests were looking forward to," said Adam Goldstein, president and chief executive officer, Royal Caribbean International. "We understand that our guests' vacation time is very precious and can assure you that we did not take this decision lightly. But it was very important to us that we bring Allure back up to speed so that she could continue to deliver the amazing cruise vacations our guests expect." Allure of the Seas has been experiencing unanticipated bearing wear in one of its three propulsion motors. All three motors are fully operational, and there is no impact on the maneuverability of the ship or on the safety of guests and crew. However, since the rate of bearing wear is directly related to ship speed, the ship's top speed has been limited. This has reduced the rate of bearing wear, and will ensure that all three propulsion motors are fully available for maneuvering and emergencies until repairs can be completed. "While Allure could have continued to sail at a reduced rate of speed, we felt it was important to fix the problem as soon as possible," said William D. Baumgartner, senior vice president of Marine Operations, Royal Caribbean Cruises Ltd. "We explored numerous repair options. Unfortunately, there was no satisfactory solution that did not involve taking the ship temporarily out of service." The company said guests currently booked on the February 23, 2014, sailing of Allure of the Seas will receive a full, 100 percent refund, or the option to sail on select itineraries at the same rate. Additionally, until the repairs can be made, it will be necessary to make minor adjustments to Allure of the Seas' eastern Caribbean itineraries. Allure of the Seas will now call on Nassau, Bahamas, from 7:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. and on Charlotte Amalie, St. Thomas, from 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. There is no need to modify Allure of the Seas' western Caribbean itineraries.
  6. I am going to be sailing on the breakaway in the next month and I do not know what happen to choose - I want access to the haven - so if anyone has any pros or cons I would love to know. I believe the Have Spa is an S9 Forward Faving is an S7 Haven Courtyard is an S5 Thanks, Ryan
  7. I got the statement form Carnival Cruise Lines. It is on breakingnews dot com. twitter at RyanRuggiero Twitter at NBCNightlyNews Thanks, Ryan
  8. they told me they only make the main ones - not the backup one that failed...
  9. Does anyone know who makes the generator on the Dream? You would think they would/should have something to add. Clearly Carnival does not make it.
  10. I will be live tweeting from the QM2 starting tomorrow feel free to following me: twitter.com/RyanRuggiero or @RyanRuggiero
  11. Does anyone know who the current Hotel Director and Cruise director is on the Explorer of the seas?
  12. Anyone else going on the Explorer of The Seas presidents week? Ryan
  13. Happy New Year to everyone! Yikes - usually for sailaways I am out on the open deck waiting for the funnel to pass under the bridge.... It is going to be very cold - so we may have to stay inside. My guess is the Sky Lounge will most likely be the best place to be if it is cold... It is a very big space - but I am sure it will be fine. The show on the first night is usually 7 and 9pm. On formal nights the shows are 8:00pm and 10:45pm.... Does everyone have late seating or select dining? Ryan
  14. I am most likely going to leave my home in Edgewater - which is near the GW Bridge around 11AM. We usually board around 12:30pm. I am also in a C1 and have elite status so we should be able to board whenever we want. I use a private car service that we use all the time where I work. I am sure you will be fine though. Yes - I do not know why they do not print the FOD meetings in the program on RCCL or Celebrity. It drives me nuts - I do not know who makes that decision. I do not understand why all of Carnival Corps Ships (cunard, holland, carnival, etc) do it. I think I remember reading the Martini Bar - but it is a bad place to have it as it is very open and everyone goes there - so you dont really know if the people are there for the FOD meetings or not. The ship is very causal... On non formal nights you can wear a dress shirt, nice jeans and shoes... No sandals. THey are not as strict on formal nights either. I always wore a suit and tie and plan on doing that again. Feel free to shoot me an email before hand if you want - my email should work on board as well as it did most of the time last trip. my email is Ryan@NBC.com i got an email from someelse on this board - they didnt want to give there name lol Does anyone have anything fun planned for the ports? Ryan
  15. One word of caution - if your driver has never been to the area and does not have a GPS he could get lost. I have had this happen to me before.... I now use the same driver - but just be advised. Since they do not post the FOD meetings in the daily program - make sure you check out the bulletin board near the front desk to see where the meeting place is. Ryan ;)
