  1. We are due to embark on the 10th September and wondered the situation of things like Covid restrictions and specialty restaurants.
  2. I claimed back in Feb when Iona's itinerary changed last minute then we still missed a port on the new itinerary. The only proof I need was the email from P&O to show change of itinerary and the note left in the cabin to say we would miss a port. In my case all the ports on the original itinerary where classed as missed plus the missed port on the new itinerary, in total I received £1200 for myself and my wife. Edit: Don't forget to claim for all people in the travel party and not just one claim.
  3. OK just so you all know why I will no longer be posting on this thread. I will be taking my case further and have spoken to a solicitor who has advised I withdraw from public conversations such as FB and forums. Depending on conditions of the outcome I will of course update this thread with the outcome. Once again thank you for your input.
  4. It is not the changing of the T&Cs I’m questioning as I along with others agree they have the right to do that, it is applying of them retrospectively I have the problem with. As I see it you agree to T&Cs that in reality you have no what they might say in weeks time if the company decided to change them.
  5. If you mean rely on as in I booked this cruise with the intention of cancelling or changing it then NO We had always intended on going and in fact been looking forward to this cruise for many reasons as it would have been a number of firsts for us. We are gutted that due to issues beyond our control (I'm unwilling to discuss these on a public forum) we find we have to move the cruise and the only one that suits us for a number of reasons is cheaper but not by a vast amount. Here is the really stupid part, I offered to pay the cost of the first cruise for the second cruise as I would have still lost less money but that could not be done!
  6. That is not the point, my point is and will always be regardless who is in the situation, a company should not be able to sell something under one set of T&Cs then change them to their advantage and retrospectively apply them. If the company choses to be generous then that is up to them.
  7. I fully understand that the T&Cs were likely to change back and I don't have a problem with that but my problem is I don't think it is morally (or possibly legally) correct to make the changes retrospective. Put it this way, you book a cruise to the Caribbean then the next week P&O add into their T&Cs "If a cruise can not be supplied we can place you on any cruise." The week before your cruise you get an email to say the ship you were due to sail on has had a technical fault so you are now on a cruise to the Cannery Islands. I think you would be not be happy.
  8. Thanks for everyone's input, and a very interesting find @Megabear2. I'm not letting this one go and @Pippa04 maybe you can use some of this information too? I will report back after my fight.
  9. Why? I can just tell them to cancel it as I'm way off balance due date.
  10. I'm with you on this and makes you distrust P&O. Maybe we need to join forces.
  11. I would have read that to mean the offer to new customer would not apply not the existing customers no longer have the offer. Otherwise that would also apply to sales offers with extra OBC, they with drawn the offer and all those who have already booked lose the extra OBC.
  12. Good point but I could envisage a clause in a law that allowed changes that benefit the other party
  13. I did think that may be the case but at the same time that means any supplier could get out of any situation just by changing T&Cs which I also find hard to believe.
  14. Good point, I shall have a read and report back. It didn't take me long to find this and they have themselves covered unless I can get my hands on an old brochure. This is what they say. The Booking Conditions which govern this holiday contract are available on the P&O Cruises website www.pocruises.com and are printed in the back of the latest brochure.
  15. I'm looking for, preferably some with legal experience to help. I booked a cruise back in April 21 and I was not sure 100% I would be free on those dates but I was advised that was no problem as under the (then) current T&Cs I could transfer the booking to ANY cruise. Fast forward to today and I find that due to circumstances beyond my control I can not go the the cruise, no problem I thought I shall move it and so we chose an alternative cruise. I ring P&O to be told they have changed their T&Cs and whilst I can still move the cruise it has to be to one of the same value or dearer. I told the lady on the phone thanks but P&O has now lost yet another booking from us as we have already cancelled 2 others losing the deposit. My question is, is it legal to change T&Cs and retrospectively apply them? For what it is worth both booking would have been "Select".
  16. And to make it even better, it’s a freephone number. Other cruise lines should take note.😁
  17. I have just booked and there are outside cabins available (I have booked one) and there are tables for 4,6,8 and I think 10. There are no tables for 2. If you’re interested I suggest you give them a call, they are very easy to get through too.
  18. I'm not saying you didn't see that but on both our cruises on Iona in February and Azura in May we saw no such thing, indeed we saw guests (including ourselves) being shown to a table just as it had been cleared but no clean cutlery etc had been laid.
  19. Hence why I'm not booking any more P&O cruises, Princess or Celebrity for us from now on.
  20. Due to medicinal requirements we have to have a drink before taking medication. Also it can be nice to relax on the balcony with a coffee while the DW is getting ready for dinner. The point of my post was not for a debate on who wants room service but the lame reason being given why it's not there. Why not just say it is a cost cutting exercise oh no they can't say that.
  21. We had the same service on Princess end of July in a balcony cabin.
  22. It is not about the turning down of the bed or even the chocolate, we tend to use the coffee and tea in the cabin during the day so it is nice to have that topped up for the morning when we also have a drink (health reasons). It is also nice to have the bathroom tidied etc. Yes we can do it ourselves but part of a cruise for us is the pampering. Also I was pointing out the complete lies P&O are telling people.
