  1. Yup, they are for guests! Even have nice carpet in the same colors as the Havana area.
  2. There are stairs at the back of decks 6 and 7 making access to the Havana area pretty easy unless you have trouble with stairs. I still would probably go with deck 5, though, unless you are literally sharing a wall with the club.
  3. Thanks for the info. I am guessing the lack of TCM was just a Europe issue... And I agree that the channel selections on Carnival are not the best.
  4. Well, if you don't sign them up online when you check in, I *think* you can still use it. I highly doubt they will tell you that you can't. However, it is part of the check in process and takes about 20 extra seconds so I don't see why you wouldn't do that rather than take time away from your cruise once you are on board...
  5. Unless they change it when it goes into dry dock, only the aft balconies, corner "Vista" balconies and premium balconies on decks 6 and 7 are part of the Havana area. I don't think (although I could be wrong) there are any regular balconies even on the other ships...
  6. I have had my cruises disappear before and had to re-add them using the booking number.
  7. I was watching Turner Classic Movies on tv and thinking about how on my last cruise (on the Pride in Europe) they didn't have it. I was wondering if this was something specific to Europe (as when I was on land they didn't have TCM either) or if this was a budget cut. I so rarely get to lie in bed and enjoy watching TCM at home (kids and all) that I really enjoy it when we go on a cruise.
  8. But not everyone does. I have been on two cruises out of Galveston (just since the restart) where we couldn't leave because people hadn't mustered and they were calling out names over the loud system. And it was under the new system.
  9. FYI, if you get YTD and you wanted a set dining time and the same table, you can talk to the maitre d and they will often give you the same time/table every night. I have made this request when I had YTD and was able to get the same time and table every night on a full ship.
  10. Had you been to your muster station yet and checked in yet? That may be why your room key didn't work yet.

  12. Were you able to debark before the masses? Or did you get hung up in them?
  13. Oh, I am not canceling my pride cruise yet. I am just looking at alternatives for if they do cancel. I will probably switch over to the Venezia TA. I can get my return flight (money and miles) refunded minus a small fee and there are still plenty of rooms open on the Venezia TA. Another option is to do an MSC cruise out of Barcelona. I think if they do cancel, it will be in the next month or two. If make it to final payment, I would *hope* we would be okay.
  14. Well, I have heard cooked cruiser tastes like chicken so whatever goes with chicken... 🤣
  15. In another group, someone on the Vista posted a letter they got from Carnival that they would be locking balcony doors and OV windows and portholes due to rough seas tonight. I understand the balconies, but do OV windows even open???
  16. I would say he would be ok every night except elegant night. I think my son may have worn shorts once with a sports jacket on elegant night...but I also think he was like 5 at the time.
  17. And before I got on another cruise, I am going to get the booster again. I think one thing that may have helped my kids is they literally got their booster like 2 weeks before the cruise because they had just become elligible. I honestly don't think the boosters last that long. Maybe 2-3 months tops.
  18. It is very strange because my husband (who is 46) got really sick but I was ok. My kids (who are vaxed) never even tested positive even though they had to have been exposed because one was even sleeping in the bed with us on the cruise! My brother who is 52 got insanely sick as well, but his wife and kids were ok. His wife is younger than him and I am 5 years younger than my husband. I read a research journal article that said they thought estrogen was somewhat protective from severe Covid. Neither my husband nor brother have any significant adverse health conditions. Neither are overweight. And everyone is vaxed and boosted. I hate to think how sick my husband would have gotten if he had not been vaxed. I think he would have ended up hospitalized...
  19. I think the cruises other than this one are okay. The Norwegian Fjords cruise on June 9th or 10th (or whenever it is) is still on the website and the Pride is showing up in Dover the day it is departing. I think the concern about this specific cruise is that the dry dock may run over. Edit: Never mind. I see other people are having issues, too, even with later bookings. Very strange. Very strange indeed.
  20. Reading all of this has me seriously thinking of just going ahead and booking the Venezia TA. I would only lose $100 per room if I cancel the Venezia if the Pride goes forward. The Venezia is on all of the port schedules and showing up on the website so I feel confident that cruise is a go. She takes off only a day after the Pride and arrives in New York only a couple of days later from when the Pride was supposed to arrive in London. Unfortunately, because it is a TA, it doesn't go to near as many ports, but the flip side is the ship is nicer. My husband refers to the Pride as a "rust bucket." His words, not mine.
  21. This is so weird because I booked through a TA and I got the letter I posted above. Not that it tells us anything...
  22. Yes, and a friend fly free with BA. However, there are still 2k in fees associated with every ticket. They are the lay flat business class beds. Without the miles and friend fly free, they are about 6k a ticket. But BA told me they will refund money and miles me so long as I cancel 24 hours before the flight. However, my husband has already taken off work so we might as well go on some sort of vacation. If they let us know far enough in advance, I want to switch to the Venezia TA.
  23. My husband and I both got Covid on our last two cruises. So we got it twice in 3 months. Despite being vaccinated and boosted. I didn't get that sick, but my husband got REALLY sick. Especially the second time. I was surprised we got it so soon after having had it, but the second cruise was in Europe so I guess maybe it was a different strain. We ended up canceling our cruise this past October because he just couldn't get sick again so soon when he still had brain fog from his second infection.
  24. I hope this is a go and they put one of their ships with the yacht club. Or do all of their ships have the Yacht Club?
