  1. Our large medical system hospital in Baltimore/DC has gone to the new " CDC"guidelines of 5 days after a positive test if you are afebrile without an antipyretic. We do not re-test.
  2. We booked Allure 3 weeks out for a June cruise. The ship was full but I did manage to get 3 staterooms near each other with 2 connected( elderly gramma) . We had a check in time of 2pm as it was all that was available. We also needed early departure. With with Key, which I got for 19.99 on sale, we were allowed to board at 10:30 or whatever the first group is. You have to be there for the first group or you go back to your original time. We went on with the suite guests. We were able to book all our shows within 1 minutes of boarding using the app. Many in our social media group were unable to get reservations to the comedy show and to the Aquatheater ; they had boarding times of noon and after. Between the early boarding, priority debarkation, ability to book shows and the included internet, the Key was absolutely worth the price. The lunch was a nice addition as was not having to carry our carry on very far- we checked it somewhere once we boarded. We didn't use any of the other "features " such as the flow rider hours or that stuff. Our use was entirely for early on, early off , internet. We were not able to do "walk off" debarkation on this cruise as we had so much stuff with gramma- walker, wheelchair, oxygen , yada yada. so having the Key was crucial. Long story short, without the Key we would not have made our plane. We were off the ship before the luggage. Luggage was delayed this particular sailing and Key comes out right after suites. for our particular needs it was a no-brainer and we got more than our money's worth.
  3. We did our first last month , a jr suite or better suite guarantee.at 8 weeks before the cruise . Got assigned an OS 5 weeks out .
  4. Not in our experience ! I can only speak to the greater Baltimore area , but we have not had a bad crab cake since moving to the area. We only order them at non-chain restaurants. The absolute best are at GM Restaurant in Lithicium Heights not far from BWI. No filler at all- pure Heaven! And they have a baklava cheese cake that is straight from heaven! Jimmy's also has amazing crab cakes- there's a list of at least 25 excellent eateries with great crab cakes. We have friends who schedule their flights when visiting so that they arrive during operating hours so we can swing by GM on the way home . We are so spoiled that I never have ordered them on board. Maybe I will this coming trip to see what I have been "missing".
  5. Yoi show your passport. Doesn't slow your party down. I have yet to pass.
  6. They will email you prior to the cruise. Usually one week before you'll get an email introducing themselves . You can make a request then or just go to the concierge in person when you board. We have never had an issue just going to concierge to book comedy club. FWIW- we did 3 Allure cruises this past Feb-May . Same itinerary, but with different groups of people. The only show that had any change in times between the 3 cruises was Aquatheater and that was due to weather, an injured performer and more weather. I'm not saying that they don't change; it just has not been our recent experience. For the reserved seats in theater, they release them 10 minutes before the show including Sky suite seats.
  7. Unless you are going to Bermuda. They have a requirement that you test max days before boarding for certain cruises.
  8. Booked a Jr on Adventure. Guarantee only. Never have we down this either. Booked 2 weeks ago for late September. Got assigned Owner's Suite last night.
  9. We cruised in 3 separate staterooms in May/June. 2 adult kids in one, hubs and I in an other and " Gramma " in a third. This was only her 3rd RC cruise but they gave her our D+ benefits. She lives with us but has a different last name and had a separate booking number; I don't know why they did that. There were no complaints! When she cruised with us in February she had no bennies.
  10. Hilton and Marriot/Bonvoy have standard internet and then an upgraded internet. We have "status" and get the complimentary upgrade, but both chains have options for internet.
  11. I am in a couple of Bermuda and one Adventure group on the book of the faces . Adventure seems to be a big hit with the Bermuda cruises this season. We are heading out in September and plan to enjoy; last 6 cruises have been Allure and Symphony. Service on Allure in Late May/June sucked. Absolutely awful. But we had the best time despite 3 of us bringing home Covid. one night we had MTD and were out by ourselves on the 4th floor to eat . And the service was still turtle paced. They also shut and latched the big doors before the second seating and left us alone . They actually forgot we were there and the waiters had finished prepping all the tables for the next seating .We could have just gone down the stairs but had gramma in a wheelchair . But we had an excellent cruise. Allure has gone downhill service-wisewith each subsequent cruise this year- we have done 5 identical but with different groups of people and one alone. We just laughed it off . Prices were low to book, we were suites for 4 and balconies for one. We have never cruised out of Bayonne so it will be an adventure in itself getting to Adventure (we're driving for once!! yay!) The past two years have sucked in many ways. But unless something beyond the pale happens, we are going to keep cruising when we can. We have a Celebrity booked in October and then no cruises planned after that for a while, but I would be hard pressed to say "no" if the opportunity arises. We are usually only 1-2 a year so taking 6 cruises in 6 months is not anywhere near our usual vacation MO. But despite weird room stewards and slow service and even the 'Rona, we've enjoyed them all . Hope you have a great time!!!
  12. We had gramma in a wheelchair , 5 family members, did not do self carry and made our 9:30 am flight with ease in May. We took the same flight 3 times this year and have had no problems getting to FLL on time. Did not self carry for any of them because of family with mobility issues. taking it again in October but will self carry as it's just the two of us.
  13. Both Delta and Southwest denied checking luggage outside for our daughter 4 hours before flight. They told her it was TSA protocol. this was in Atlanta and Baltimore.
  14. I have a question about deck 11. there is a stairwell noted on the deckplan at both corners at the very aft. There is that open deck/movie screen above on deck 12. Do a lot of people use this stairway and is it noisy? i was looking at switching to a cabin on the very end so as to have only one "neighbor" This is our first Celebrity cruise so I know ZERO!!
  15. We are booked in October; 5th cruise this year. Last cruise was on Allure RCL; 2 ot of 5 had Covid the day after we got home. 23 yo son really had it bad for 3 weeks; my husband had a fever one day and cold-like symptoms for 8 days. Son had masked continually on board ; not the rest of us.
  16. I just finished for three cabins- just went down the list, snapped the passports and vax cards and pics . It was super easy.
  17. Wow! I have learned a lot from you this evening . Thank you!!
  18. No, it is not. It specifically mentions that it's not on its description I have the same one; I carry a screen shot of the description from Amazon as I do with a heating pad. Have never been asked about either
  19. Mama Mia has been playing our last three Allure cruises
  20. It DOES suck!! But... Friend was on last week, we have been on twice this year .No issues . 99% of the time seats available as those with reservations dont always show up and seating is to be less restricitive now. It really IS a dumb way to do it. Last winter they were not even allowing stand by seating because they didnt want people congregating because of Covid. In February there were stabd by lines and plenty of people entered at the 10 minute mark.
  21. You canna only book once on board. If you are in a suite, the concierge will do it for you. This May will be our third Allure this year ; there was never a problem for those wihtout reservations to get in 10 minutes prior.
  22. Yup. The 4 drinks plus the happy hour are more than we needed. The "sale" for our upcoming Allure 6 night in May , same one we took in Februaury, is 12 dollars more per day than it was 2 months ago. Crazy.
