Thanks for the heads up. I didn't know that any cruise lines allowed this. Just booked my sister for this experience. She is driving us to the ship and we planned to have lunch with her before boarding. Now we will board earlier and enjoy a fabulous lunch together in the ships dining room. As it turns out, today is the last day we could have booked this for our sailing.
I was finally able to get back onto cruise critic today-kept signing in and getting kicked off-timely indeed. Thank you posters, you made this experience possible for us. I learn the best cruising info here on Cruise Critic. Not a newbie but I learn something new all the time. Keep up the good work.

Anytime you are taking money from someone you have to work at it.
JC
Apparently RCI didn't have to.
I'm glad you got the refund that you should have gotten immediately when they downgraded your cabin. I would like to think that was just an error and not someone thinking you wouldn't notice or fuss. Happy Sails to you and your family and many more years of better health.

Skechers. Perfect slip ones with sneaker soles gets my vote too.

Try World Yacht Cruises. Not sure about prices. Other small ships do package deals too.

Monorail is free and only stops in the airports three terminals and at the train station. There is no exit to the streets at the monorails train station, only a stop to board or exit the train. Not all trains to NJ from New York will stop at the airport. Just be sure to check the train schedule. They will be posted at the boarding gate. Have fun no matter where you decide to stay.

Stay around Newark Airport ( use travel websites for current recommendations about quality and hotel websites for price ). Use the free hotel shuttle to the airport. ( No free airport shuttle, find another hotel with one)
From the airport take the monorail to the train station. Buy a NJ transit ticket to NY Penn Station. ( there is also a Penn Station in New Jersey- you want New York.) Reverse directions to return to your hotel.

Prayers for this family. Losing a child is the hardest loss in life. As a former ER nurse I can tell you that so many loving, caring parents have started that " they only looked away for a minute" or " my child has never done anything like that before." I don't know any parent that has never turned their head or seen their child do at least one stupid thing for the first time. Children are inquisitive and impulsive and no matter how carefully you watch them, things happen quickly.
Those of you who believe this could never happen to you need not challenge the fates. Instead grab that healthy, living child of yours into the biggest embrace and hold on tight. Love them, teach them, and pray that if they ever step in front of a moving vehicle some one reaches out a pair of hands to pull them back to safety.

Nora Roberts / JD Robb is always a good read (I like to have a least one saved for vacation, fortunately she's prolific so I don't have to save them for very long, cause there is always a new one.) The JD Robb are Police in the future suspense. And if you like funny (although humor is subjective) Gini Koch's Alien books are a hoot. (The Aliens among us always wear Armani.)
I second JD Robb. If you have never read this series start with #1. I picked them up later in the series and had to go back and purchase all of the prior issues for my tablet. That set off a real marathon of reading. I also read the same author's work as the OP.

I agree that people should put their yardsticks away. People who suffered from Irma will appreciate everyone's help.
We all sail who we sail for our own personal reasons. Some of us sail them all but may have a preference.
Some of the Islanders have never sailed any of them. They have no preference. Let's not make it about us.
We should just say thank you to everyone who helps and join them in helping.
If you are a praying person keep Irma's victims in yours.

TomAceEsq can't they just pull out their 3D printers and make new ones?

When we sailed to Greece a few years ago the cruise line took our passport at embarkation. We got them back on the sea day after our last port. No one took their passport off the ship in any port- we didn't have access to them.
We leave them on the ship all the time. Take drivers license and ship card.
We also take the port agent info with us. Usually posted in the shops daily publication.
We also leave copies of passport and birth certificate with someone not on the trip with us. With fax and e-mail this info can be sent to us if necessary.

We had a Mardi Gras party on the Conquest many years ago. My sister taught me how to do the face mask with face paint. Buy it now with all your Halloween supplies. You should be able to find plenty of "how-to's" on the internet this time of year. It was so much fun and make up remover took it all off before bedtime. Have a great time-Happy Sails!

Look to rent a time share. They usually have large apartments with pools. Floridays in Kissimmee was nice. Miniature golf nearby. Lots of eateries nearby. Also try major hotels that have timeshares .

If your trip begins and ends in the same port you do not violate the passengers act but it would involve 2 sailings since no itineraries currently begin in Key West. Not sure any cruise line would be happy with that unless you paid for both sailings. Can't hurt to ask the cruise line of your.choice.

We had 12 in our party With the oval table and it worked just fine. Have 2 people change seats with 2 others every night and the conversation works just fine. We also took turns talking and listening when everyone wanted to hear the same conversation. ( Not one of our better skills as we all love to talk). You will be fine. Most tables are anchored to the floor so I don't think they will put them together. You will probably have one large table with the extra chair.

Could it be one show but 2 performances to allow for the 2 dining times in the MD?

I wouldn't take the risk. It would be very expensive to deal with this issue at the airport. You can't predict how strict they will be.
I flew British Air once and had an upgraded ticket that allowed me to have 2 carry-ons. One of the agents walked around the seating area checking everyone. She started yelling at me for having 2 bags. I explained and showed her my ticket. After a lot of muttering she made me take the bags to the counter to measure them. Both were visibly smaller than standard carry-ons but she was very unhappy that day and I became a target of her mood. She finally went away after telling me she was tired of people not following rules and trying to get away with everything.
Other times I see baggage agents slapping a sticker on a large bag that indicates that it is oversized and sending travelers on their way with a smile. Just make sure that it is not overweight.
Happy travels.

Check with your PMD. The doc should be able to give you some preventative advice as well as a prescription if advisable.

Bon Voyage Program - Thoughts??
in Princess Cruises

We will be boarding at 11:30 as opposed to our 2:00 scheduled time. I’m very excited to have a guest come on board with us to see the ship and enjoy lunch.
