  1. Doubt your TA is suggesting you cancel your early booking on board if prices are higher, just that you could cancel it if the on board booking is a better deal when you get on the ship. "Better" including the combined effects of any price or perk changes and any additional bonuses for booking on board.
  2. On our Asian cruise 3 years ago, the Millennium had Japanese and Singapore currency exchange don't remember about the others except definitely not Vietnamese currency - also not available through my bank - but no matter since USD accepted in the major cities.
  3. The $14pp pd fare increase was only if you selected the Classic and never if you selected all 4 perks with the Premium. Now if you selected the Classic Perk, paid the $14 fare increase and then paid additional to Upgrade to Premium, that's a different story. You should then request to be refunded the Upgrade purchase.
  4. On the Reflection in September, the Cruise Planner only showed 6pm for all specialty restaurants, but once on board, we found that they were also booking 5:30pm
  5. There are only two downsides that I know of: Opportunity cost of losing investment income, no matter how small Extremely low probability of losing your money due to corporate bankruptcy Both of these are minor concerns - so go ahead if you wish. For me, I'll keep my money until right before final payment date.
  6. Sorry, misread - thought you were in 7356. 7354 is still larger than the standard balcony but not as large as 7356. The railing of the 7354 balcony starts out at the location of a standard balcony and angles out to meet the railing of the larger 7356 balcony. The additional balcony space (beyond that of a standard balcony) of 7354 is a triangle that is half the area of the rectangular additional space of 7356.
  7. My motto is: "Let the suckers subsidize my cruise!"
  8. Yes it is larger. Cruisedeckplans.com has a link to a video of cabin 8338 directly above you and the video shows the larger balcony. Yours should be the same.
  9. If you intend to use the "one category upgrade" loyalty benefit, consider putting a hold on both your desired cabin and one in the lower category - especially if there is low availability of cabins in the lower category. The upgrade benefit requires an available cabin in the lower category; so placing a hold on one in the lower category guarantees you will be able to take advantage of the loyalty benefit.
  10. Decent, but no great wines; similar to wines you could get in your grocery store for $12 to $15 per bottle. And the available wines seem to vary from year to year.
  11. Yes, the Elite drinks are available at most bars - but not all drinks - just the ones on a specific list. Not available on the first night and the night of the officers party (since free drinks at the party) In addition, there is an Elite continental breakfast (usually in the Tuscan Grille) where you can have a Bloody Mary or a Mimosa for free.
  12. There is a good mixture of port and sea days - 7 at sea on a 14 night cruise - and no more that two in a row.
  13. One potential minus, depending on your budget, is the price. Baltic cruises on Oceania range from about $350 to $600 per person per day for the lowest price balcony cabin; on Silversea, about $750 to $800.
  14. Celebrity Summit has Eastbound and Westbound TAs in August that sail to Greenland
  15. Likewise in September off the Reflection the line was more like 40 minutes.
  16. Not exactly, they do not have all of the flavored syrups and all of the liquors to make many of the specialty drinks.
  17. And also put a hold on a cabin in the lower priced category if they are few available to make sure one in the lower category remains available so you can get the lower price.
  18. Unless you have nothing to eat - then it's just a fast unbroken 🙄
  19. On my September Reflection cruise i did so and found that their form is not set up to tip specific individuals - only categories such as food service. However, they had a category for cabin service and since there is only one person providing such service - my steward - I was able to use it to provide him additional gratuities. But I was not able to use it to provide additional gratuities to my specific waiter - luckily had enough cash left to take care of him.
  20. Not sure if it applies to the Premium Package. If it does then it was either added to your fare or they did not add it because of the sale. Bottom line is, either way, there is no additional fee since it is always added at the time of the booking.
  21. Should be some in the Celebrity Ilounge near the main elevators on deck 6
  22. Excursions other than the special ones you mentioned can usually be canceled with full refund if you cancel a day or two in advance - even when you are on board.
  23. You can also make reservations on board. Stop by the MDR or give them a call.
