I just finished a Silver Nova on a TransPacific and was on deck 8 aft. There was some rocking but was not severe. Something to consider if you do not wish to take a deck 9, but if you still wish to take a deck 9 suite, take one towards the middle as the noise level would be minimal. That is from my experience and opinion. The best information as we all know is from someone who is staying or has stayed on deck 9 to chip in.

The "Somewhat Live" - Silver Nova: Vancouver to Tokyo (Sept. 12th, 2024)

Finally on the 2nd last night of the cruise, Atlantide finally could do a Fillet Mignon that I truly enjoyed. This is the description of the dish. -

Throughout this cruise, my traveling companion and I would max out on the dining opportunities. An example of this is tonight, we had some room service bites from otivm and then head down to silver note. This was what we had from the otivm menu. Foie Gras Mousse Crab Cucumber Roll There is a Lobster Ravioli that was so good that I forgot to take a shot of. 😂 -

Like what @BBGrace273 mentioned, yes my traveling companion and I were on the same shore excursion and Yes, we did see bears as mentioned. This is one of the many that I got from that experience. -

I'm wondering whether is your reference to La Terrazza is in reference to lunch or dinner? -
In my last post, I stated that I would be taking a "Big Ma" which is the Sigma 60-600 and it did deliver to expectations. The whale was coming in from distance to the boat and just before it dived, it flipped it's tail. This was captured at 60mm. If one had a 100-500 or something equivalent, the whale would overflow the frame.

This is one of the majority reasons why people would take a cruise to Alaska. I can finally strike this off my bucket list. -

Silver Note on Day 3 on this cruise has so far been the most impressive and innovative. This was what I ate Silver Note menu Left Silver Note Menu Right Caviar Rosette Crab Bites Tuna In A Can - Korean Spicy Citrus Marinated Lobster Tail Beef Tournedos Medium Rare uncut Beef Tournedos Medium Rare cut Vanilla Ice Cream and TWG Earl Grey Tea And with that, that ends out night. -

I'm sure that the cruise line is able to accommodate you that needs a gluten-free diet. -

Avoided embarkation lunch at La Terrazza and went straight to Atlantide where for about an hour, we were the only ones there. This is what I had: Atlantide Lunch Menu Minestrone soup Portobello wrap (L) and Blue cheese and Pear Salad (R) Salmon Fish Cake -

Just arrived at Canada Place. Earliest time to check in is 12pm. So in the meantime just sharing the first of many shots. -
Perhaps this youtube video might be helpful to you. Another one that will be applicable to us would be this one I remember Gary Bembridge also mentioned in one of his videos went something like this: Ask the Butler these two questions 1. What am I entitled in this suite/class for this cruise. 2. As a Butler, what are you able to do for me? or something along those lines.

After following this thread from time to time, this is what I would be taking with me to Alaska. Other than my main camera, I am taking a super ultra wide 9mm from 7Artisan, a 24-120 for a walk around lens and a Super Telephoto Zoom 60-600 from Sigma and maybe a occasional TC. I would have everything covered from 9mm to 600mm.

Alaska - tripod vs monopod (or neither)
agape01 replied to Rhinodad's topic in Photo & Camera Discussions
After reading this topic for a while, have decided to take a Sirui monopod. The nice part is that the bottom stand can be removed to make it a mini tripod. -
Alternatively, I guess you could get into MySilversea and show the information that you have there when you check in. It will have your booking ID and all the other pieces of information to validate you.
-
Just to confirm. This is for any guest on a Silversea cruise departing Vancouver?
-
Having said what you said, which would you rather try as a first time cruiser on Silversea. La Dame or S.A.L.T Chef Table?
-
That is why I did the ultimate reservation for Silvernote on my up and coming Silversea cruise. 😁
-
Alternatively, Silversea should also treat restaurant reservations on its cruises like any high end establishment on land. Part of the T&Cs should be a charge will occur if there is a no show after a set period of time. Any guest wanting to dine at La Dame on that same night will open up on a first come first serve basis. This should be fairer for anyone concerned. Of course, they could also implement the $160/pp charge at La Dame like what is implemented on the Nova and Ray. Just my 2 cents.

I am not sure whether could you make more when you board, but making dining reservations pre-cruise, one can only make one reservation/night. In my case, I could only reserve Silver Note and not making another at The Grill or La Terrazza on the same night through the MySilversea webpage.
