Yep we are exactly the same - in Friday for Sunday and I agree with you it’s all about the speed of PCR test - they signal limitations at the hotel on what you can do until test is confirmed as negative…. But you can potentially use the hotel facilities… but that in itself might be challenging because you might interact with someone who has Covid even though you yourself didn’t when you took the PCR test…. Great times we live in….. but at least we are all still living!

Hi to be fair... having become alarmed reading all this stuff I actually went onto the various Barbados sites to understand the requirements for cruise passengers and it doesn't seem terribly onerous to me unless I'm missing something? Its only vaccinated passengers I suspect: If flying in with cruise line/ charter on day of cruise - fill in Barbados form, PCR test 3 days or less before fly, then transport straight to port by cruise line If flying in independently but on day of cruise - same but not transported by cruise line, by specified local transport If flying in before cruise sail day - initially the same, but with a PCR test on arrival, then go to 'designated hotel' to await test result - they call it 'quarantine' but there is no set amount of days its just until you test positive or negative (they do suggest at least 2 days though). Test negative and free to do anything anywhere on Barbados as soon as results through... Designated hotels are basically every hotel we've been looking at on the island! Is it that complicated (provided you don't test positive!)......

  5. Understand your thought process if not quite sharing your obvious irritation and frustration at the ambiguity…. We are all different. We already have our B2B back up plan in place and are staying with the TA until close to the last minute for cancellation of the B2B to make a final decision… flights were restructured easy as anything so it’s just a case of holding breath and seeing if there is any new intel in the next period…. Given how much has changed in last 2 weeks I’d be very surprised if there is no news at all.

Hi it essentially says it’s being changed to a 13 day cruise with an extra day before Malaga and a trip to Nassau before it gets to US… but please please still ask because we trust everything so little right now that we fear it should only have gone to US citizens!   10. If that’s the day they open up who knows where Jewel will be going in December… over the course of a B2B we’ve pretty much got the ‘full house’ I think of labadee, key west and cayman!
  11. If it runs true to form (as it has done with the B2B back up cruises we’ve booked for the 2 weeks before the transatlantic)…. Tomorrow or Saturday is the first of the ‘go or no go’ decision days for RC…. Reason is if they follow what’s happened for the 17th and 24th sailings… the cruise documents were sent out 30 days before sailing….

Yep we got the feeling that RC actually don’t want people to get off but feel obliged to offer something at each port (and then are disincentivising people going on the tours through pricing - and if too few end up booking the tour gets cancelled…). I understand why though because the last thing they want is a press story about ‘Covid rampant’ when in reality it might be a couple of people who went on a tour…. They rightly want the stats that shows how many people have sailed and how many cases were found on board to ‘prove’ effectiveness of protocols…..
  13. We’ve always loved JR for breakfast…. Not a huge menu of options but opportunity to sit outdoors and have waiter service is great
  14. Thank you for doing this - it is really useful for those of us who are follow in your footsteps in the next few weeks. PS one thing that would be very useful intel if you got to speak with one of the senior officers is what the ‘on board’ expectations are around what’s happening with the transatlantic at the end of October - what do they know, are they preparing for non US on o be on the sailing… basically anything! Thanks in advance for any intel.
  15. Yep definitely take it…. 4 nights of speciality dining and any lunches you can get too (eg boarding day)…. Eating in Central Park is always a major pleasure
  16. Thank you for this info…. It’s really helpful. I had a bit of intel on this one previously - I suspect it slightly predates the US decision to open up but was particularly influenced by how early the TA is scheduled to be is the informal ‘gossip’. That RC want to run the TA with all passengers (ideally) is not under question…. It will come down to what the US government let them do….
  17. Allure eastbound TA to wonder eastbound TA April 2022….. junior suite on deck 10 to directly above on deck 12…. Totally happy…. In fact given the brand new ship and price paid… totally delighted…. Now just need to get the guest copy though to make sure our substantial OBC has transferred across….
