  1. Love your posts. Great information. Will be following along on your B2B adventure. Enjoy!!
  2. I was looking yesterday for any word of this on the Princess Cruise forum and no sign of this anywhere. Found it hard to believe no mention of it with that many people affected. We’re not comfortable booking a cruise yet so I’m going to sit back and read some reviews. I thought I would be cruising in late 2022 but I guess it will be later in 2023. Fingers crossed.
  3. I love the Riverside hotel as well. Great location with lots of restaurant choices at your doorstep. We took taxis from airport - hotel - pier. About $20 per trip.
  4. We travel to Hawaii almost every year except for the last two years. I was checking the price for Feb from YSJ and it was $1500 pp. That is the highest I’ve seen for years. It used to be under $1000 pp. I checked Aeroplan points and that is ridiculous too. It used to be 40,000 points return for Hawaii. Those were the days.
  5. Just received my Nexus renewal card in the mail. It took 2 weeks. That was quick.
  6. Love the silent disco. Just be there early and you’ll get your headphones. They do have 3 channels and I’m sure you’ll find something to dance to.
  7. Hopefully my card will appear next week as I was approved on Oct 11th. Now I have to renew my husbands in Nov as his card expires next March.
  8. My Nexus is expiring in Jan 2023. I went online and renewed it on Sept 24th and just received it was approved on Oct 11th. I processed the payment on my TD Visa as they will cover the cost. Sure enough the credit went through. Now hopefully my new card will arrive soon.
  9. Have been to Hawaii many times and Kauai is my favourite island. Not as busy as Maui and there is so much to see and do. I do wish that Celebrity would stop there for a change instead of two days in Lahaina.
  10. Looking forward to following along. Stay safe and healthy.
  11. My friend just came off of the Eclipse from YVR - HNL and her roommate got Covid. My friend was given the option of staying in the cabin or being moved to another cabin. They were in a balcony. My friend was moved to a balcony and remained there for the duration of the cruise. At least it wasn’t an inside.
  12. Personally I would take the balcony. You can certainly sit out there on the crossing if you dress warmly. Is it a 12 day cruise? So it’s about $58 per day for the balcony. If you can afford it go for it.
  13. When we stopped in Hilo a couple of years ago, we were very disappointed with the taxi drivers. They only wanted to take people to the Volcano and not do runs into town or airport. Not many taxis either. Be prepared to wait around at the port for one.
  14. You can check out resortpass.com for hotels that allow you to use their facilities for a price. They have quite a few listed for Waikiki. I’ve stayed at the Doubletree Alana Waikiki which is listed on their website. They have a lovely heated pool and it’s very close to the beach at Hilton Hawaiian Village which has the best beach.
  15. I’ve stayed in Waikiki many times in hotels until I discovered www.waikikibeachrentals.com.They are large studio rentals with huge balconies at the Ilikai resort. They have oceanfront, Marina view and Cityview rooms. You should check out their website as the pricing is better than the hotels. It’s located beside the Hilton Hawaiian Village. Great location.
  16. Here in the Maritimes, we just finished having a heatwave like Boston had. It’s been a bit rainy yesterday and today. Temps should be in the 70’s now and at night in 60’s. Looks like it will be sunny for awhile now. We had a unusually hot and humid July. Hope this helps…
  17. Looking forward to following along on your adventure. If you haven’t been to Halifax recently, you’ll see a lot of changes. We used to live in Bedford, 20 min from Halifax. They spent millions on the waterfront so you’ll love strolling along there. Enjoy!!!!
  18. I was checking Marine Traffic and they’re showing 6:50 departure. Let’s see what happens..
  19. Just received an email from Nexus about my renewal. Mine expires in Jan but we usually renew online. Just wondering about the process you went through crossing the border. I may be able to do that in Calais, Maine since we live so close.
  20. I stayed at the Hilton Garden Inn about 4 years ago when it just opened. It was a great location on Kuhio Ave. We weren’t that high up and it wasn’t noisy for sleeping at night. Room was lovely. We’ve also stayed at the Luana Waikiki which is by Fort DeRussy. Love their heated pool and you can easily get to the beach. Another one we stayed at for years is the Doubletree Alana Waikiki. Airline staff used to use this hotel. This is also within.walking distance of the beach by the Hilton Hawaiian Hotel. The Luana and Doubletree are a bit away from the core of the Waikiki area. These days we stay in a condo at the Ilikai but you have to stay a min of 5 nts I think. We book through Waikiki Beach Rentals.
  21. Thanks for the link DCPIV……I see I would get 90 min free…
  22. I would also consider the cruise only rate when we travel again. We are now Elite and that would give us the drinks from 5-7 pm. I was checking the benefits for Elite on their website and I don’t see anywhere of any wifi free minutes. I only see the discount off of the wifi packages. Everyone seems to mention the free minutes so where can this be found.
  23. Just received my 3 PUP points for the webinar on Italy from May 3. Will check on June 14th for the recent webinar points.
  24. Last cruise was Feb 2020 and haven’t booked anything yet. Will wait and see what 2023 looks like.
  25. I’ve been following a lot of these threads as well. If anyone is cruising right now worldwide, they should have a Plan B for quarantining in a foreign country. Check out Air BNB’s, hotels at your final destination well before you start the cruise. I realize mandates change but that is our world right now with the pandemic. i remember months ago when Canadians and UK travellers flew to the US ports to cruise. We had to jump through hoops with testing and then we too had to quarantine in the US at hotels or Air BNB’s for 10 days. Not a good feeling to be out of your country in quarantine.
