  1. We have a tour booked through Shore Excursioneers next week - sloths, monkeys and snorkel tour. But I have now come across some threads recommending Bodden tours. Just wondering if anyone has done both or either and would have any suggestions? Are too prioritiy would be seeing the sloths and monkeys. (There will be four of us.)
  2. I have searched under Galveston hotels on the boards and haven’t really found what I’m looking for. I will look at the gulf coast board. Thank you
  3. I am trying to figure out the best option for a stay one night prior to our cruise. We will be flying into Hobby airport and will not be renting a car. Would prefer to stay in Galveston so we have a few hours near the water. Things I’m looking for are: reasonably priced (doesn’t need to be fancy), near restaurant(s) - I need to eat gluten free, and near ocean. I have ave never been to Galveston and have no feel for the location of things. Is staying in Galveston the best option or is just staying at a hotel near the airport better? Any advice would be greatly appreciated!
  4. Interior or ocean view, although the window does not matter to us, but they seem larger. We won’t spend much time in our room. When we have gone to Disney we have been happy staying at the Value resorts, we don’t need much. Any experience with with the family harbor rooms on the Vista? Is that worth the extra cost?
  5. We have finalized our cruise decisions to either the Carnival Vista or the Royal Caribbean Liberty Of The Sea. They have the exact same dates and ports, and roughly the same cost. So those aspects do not factor into the decision between which ship. However, I keep going back and forth between which ship to choose. Please help!!!! Some of my thoughts: Vista has more included eating options (we will not pay more to eat at any of the others), it seems Liberty just has MD, buffet and pizza. Vista: poor theater seating, seems a lot of reviews don’t like the Vista ship design Can anyone give me any advice or suggestions on these two ships, please?!? It will be my husband and myself (not into the clubs, bars, casino) and our two kids (will be 13 & 16) who will not be interested in the kids clubs. Decided to pick a cruise out of Galveston due to flights costs being higher to Florida.

  8. Thank you so much for all the replies and opinions!!
  9. I am trying to decide between two cruises and would love your opinion. We haven’t ever sailed on Carnival before. (Princess 18 years ago for honeymoon & Disney 3-4 years ago as a family). There will be four of us. My husband, myself, son who will turn 16 during the cruise and my daughter who will be 13. During our Disney cruise there was a hurricane and we had to miss the private island, which was going to be our beach day. So my kids have been IN the ocean, but have never been to a beach. We had looked at renting a place in Florida on/near the beach/ocean. Rental prices were quite high and we decided to look into a cruise instead. Our two options are: (March 2nd or 3rd) Vista - Galveston, 3 sea days, Belize, Mahogany Bay & Cozumel Breeze - Port Canaveral, 2 sea days, Amber Cover D.R., St. Thomas, San Juan and Grand Turk. We would be be interested in ocean/beach excursions or other adventurous land excursions. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!!
