This is such an interesting thread, we’ve just returned from our first X cruise and we loved it, we also loved sailing from Southampton which means no sitting in airports for hours followed by hours on a plane, so now we’re hooked, but looking at 2024 from Southampton doesn’t give us too many options of cruise lines and I’m not convinced by the IV on the Apex (plus the ££££) so I think it may have to be Princess next for us as we can’t afford MSC YC

We are on the current Silhouette sailing from Southampton to the Fjords, we’re first time X cruisers and I was a little worried before we sailed having read about cut backs etc, now as I haven’t sailed on them before I can’t comment on previous MDR experiences, but we’ve just been there for our second evening and the food we’ve had both evenings was fine and up to what we expected, the staff as previously mentioned are exceptional all of them, yes the choice is limited but we certainly haven’t felt the necessity to book an up charge restaurant, we may try the OVC one evening we might not, the roast lamb tonight was delicious, we’re having a fabulous time
  6. Hello everyone, we’re now less than 48 hours to our sailing and all our Move up bids are still pending, I’m assuming we haven’t won but when do they usually say expired?
  7. We sail in 11 days, our cruise appears to be sold out too, all our bids are still saying pending, how did you know yours was frozen? I’m not very hopeful really x
  8. This is a bit concerning, do they do this often? what happens if nobody takes the offer does somebody get bumped? our upcoming cruise has vanished off the X website after weeks of saying either sold out or just odd cabins available, this makes me very nervous!!

  12. I’ve previously asked about the Move up process for our upcoming cruise, I’ve now made some bids, the confirmation for our Aqua Class bid describes it as having an Infinite veranda, I didn’t think the Silhouette had those, any thoughts?

  15. You can’t see it very well on the email I’ve posted, but under each category it says Upgrade Now, there was a separate button earlier on in the email that said Bid for an upgrade now, it certainly makes it seem they are 2 different things?

Good afternoon all, can anyone help me, not sure if this question has been asked before, but I can’t find the answer, we’ve PIF our cruise sails August 18th, last week we received an email from X offering two things, bid for an upgrade or pay to upgrade now, the latter wouldn’t work, so I’ve emailed X to ask why, the reply is once you’ve paid you can’t upgrade you can only use the bidding process, this is our first X cruise, but surely that’s not correct? and if it is why include it in the email?
  18. Wonderful photos, we’re currently considering this cruise in May or June 2023, would you recommend the cabin you chose? did the angle give you a bigger balcony? how were the seas for you, calm or not?
