  1. We were on the Ascent 1/7 sailing. It was our second Celebrity cruise (but 15th overall cruise). We loved it. The crew was friendly. The food was excellent. The entertainment was fun and the overall vibe of the passengers was lovely. We stayed in a Sky Suite and enjoyed the Retreat. We had two cruises booked the the same time in March and were deciding - Star Class Loft on Royal or another Sky suite on Apex and we canceled the Star Class Loft even though it was a very good deal. We definitely have nothing but great things to say about Celebrity!
  2. I thought I'd share our recent excurision in Cozumel while cruising on the Ascent last week. Although we also enjoy beach days, we were looking for something different. Since we do enjoy bird watching at home and previously have very much enjoyed birding on the Eastern Shore and last year in Curacao, I started researching birding tours in Cozumel. I came across Elvis Jimenez and his company Gala Naturaleza. Our friends who have been bird watched before were cruising with us and decided they would join in. I was nervous about them hating it but long story short, it was an amazing five hour excursion. Elvis found and we observed 51 species of birds on the island- several of which are endemic or only found on Cozumel! I was so excited to see both the Mango hummingbirds and the Cozumel Emerald hummingbirds...a lot! ELvis met us at the port and we drove to several locations on the island. He has a great sense of humor and is extremely knowldedgable. We had fun and laughed a lot. Our friends said they were hooked. We ended with a relaxing drive around the island before he took us back to the ship. If you are looking for a nature tour when in Cozumel, I highly recommend! Here were are on our tour! 3. We just took our first celebrity cruise on the Equinox and have only sailed RC previously (we are diamond plus so a lot Royal cruises. We personally felt that our Celebrity cruise was better than Royal in every way. The service was WAY more above and beyond. The food was exceptional, the vibe of the ship was awesome - loved the venues, the bars, Cafe Albacio, the times of the shows and the overall decor. And it was definitely not sleep at night. We sail in suites on Royal and were in a suite on Equinox and the suite experience was also better on Celebrity. We loved the retreat lounge and Luminae. How much did we love celebrity? We have two cruises now booked with celebrity. FYI - we dont sail with kids and are in our late 40s.
  4. Would you say it was worth it to go there?
  5. You are describing our most recent March 2023 sailing on Royal Caribbean (Harmony) - there was even a fist fight! There is definitely a people problem on cruises (and in the world in general!). I am hoping this post-covid group of obnoxious travelers is short term. Having said that we are Diamond Plus on Royal and have opted to do our next cruise on Celebrity for the first time in May.
  6. Husband did online renewal Jan 6 and paid for expedited bc we leave for next cruise March 9. Hadn't gotten anything at all yet last week so we contacted our senator's office through link on website and update was that it was still in process. Husband emailed back and said it was needed before March 9. GOt an email back from office saying it was getting sent out and he got it yesterday - so it was 7 weeks. And I don't believe he would have gotten it yesterday without reaching out to senator office. Insert eye roll about bad government processes here! lol Why fix this slow system when you can look like a hero instead!
  7. As you can tell, it is subjective but totally worth that price to us. We love the vibe and the food. We had paid over twice as much for our upcoming Dec cruise but just rebooked last night for $98.
