Anyone ever had Carnival lose your luggage?
pc_load_letter replied to love4monsters's topic in Carnival Cruise Lines
Perhaps lost is better than going into the sea like I saw at the Long Beach terminal. -
Jubilee is now floating!

So is it essentially the same design as MG and Celebration just with different decor and names of venues? -
Bliss Review: Alaska Cruise Seattle Round Trip 4/15-22
pc_load_letter replied to ashank1m's topic in Norwegian Cruise Line
"it seems to be the only NCL ship with huge observation lounge in the front," Encore is the sister ship and has this as well. -
Although not an option, I would choose "Same". I would say perhaps worse only because of increased drink package prices and crowds (ships look waaaayyyy overbooked). On a positive note, I appreciate the statements regarding shipboard behavior and the expanding fleet. I hope to try Firenze once it arrives. We are on Radiance again in a month but after that, we are going east for another NCL cruise or perhaps back to the Med for a land based vacation. *Although Navigator of the Seas out of San Pedro looks enticing. It's been years since we've been on RCCL.

15 Drink Limit Only For Drink Package?
pc_load_letter replied to myn's topic in Carnival Cruise Lines
I am in no way a big drinker but I can hit 15 pretty easy on a cruise. As others have stated, I can start with mimosa's, screwdriver or bloody mary and can hit 10 by dinner. -
LIVE ALASKA NCL BLISS 04-22-2023 to 04-29-2023 Review

Six put me to sleep. -
The Gatorades are nice to have but as others have stated, we've brought on our own powdered electrolyte mix for several years now. We use a brand called Vitalyte that mixes up clear, but there are many out there.

I think Carnival's "rep" started with the infamous poopy cruise. Kinda went downhill after that. The social media exposure (click bait youtube titles) and the condescending language from loyalists from other brands have helped along the misconception.

That parking garage next to the Midway will soon be converted to a bayfront park. Will look great! Nice review! I wish San Diego could get this ship permanently.

Yes, you can use it for all Carnival Corp brands... https://www.carnivalcorp.com/static-files/50351a91-4dc0-4f6b-bfec-684647e6129f

Never thought I would say this.....
pc_load_letter replied to Raysgirl's topic in Carnival Cruise Lines
I would sail the Breakaway Plus class if they were more common in socal. We sailed Bliss last Thanksgiving and the wife and I loved it. Such a breath of fresh air from Carnival. I didn't miss Guys or any of the other fast casual eating spots at all. -
Dining Room Menu - Time for a Change?
pc_load_letter replied to nydney1's topic in Carnival Cruise Lines
I dunno if it was just because it was Panorama but I noticed a few never before seen items to me on my last cruise. One was the sea bass and the other was the teriyaki salmon. I also liked the vegan enchiladas somewhat. -
We were on Bliss at Thanksgiving and they confiscated my fan at embarkation. At that time, fans were not on the banned list. When I went to guest services, she said that it needed to be "tested" by and engineer. Okay. whatever. Anyways, I guess it was never tested since it was never delivered. I picked it up on the last day.

Quick thoughts on Panorama
pc_load_letter replied to pc_load_letter's topic in Carnival Cruise Lines
***** is a shake shack? Was your cruise in Manhattan? And yes, when it happens twice and I need to get to an event, it's a big fricking deal especially when it takes more than 30 minutes out of my day to sit there and wait for the "engineer" to come. Yes, Marty was "very access". Sure, he was all over the ship for sure. But not funny in the slightest. -
Carnival Firenze itineraries- underwhelming.
pc_load_letter replied to Jamman54's topic in Carnival Cruise Lines
That how it was for Panorama last week. Our traveling friends were off the ship by 7:30. Which is dumb for Carnival because with the exception of excursions, the town is still closed. -
I couldn’t believe the story about NCL

Sure, some on using pop or imap and downloading those messages off the server with a client, piece of cake. But AOL is largely a web based email. -
Sailing on the "bigger" NCL ships
pc_load_letter replied to dltvermont's topic in Norwegian Cruise Line
Prior to covid I had only been on the older NCL ships. Since the restart, I was on Bliss and the reservation system for shows was not that difficult. It just takes some planning. You can now pre-book entertainment and your time window will depend on your booking, Haven, suites etc https://cruiseradio.net/pre-cruise-entertainment-reservations-norwegian-cruise/ Alternately you can book (some) shows when you get on the ship but some are first come first serve. We did this on Bliss. There is a designated area, usually a bar or restaurant where you can book your shows. I have not been on Viva so I cannot comment on their show offerings. -

Most business level (enterprise) email systems from the likes of Gmail and Microsoft have recall features in place. It's not dependent on the receiver's email account. -
Carnival Firenze itineraries- underwhelming.
pc_load_letter replied to Jamman54's topic in Carnival Cruise Lines
I would say absolutely yes. The cruises I've been on lately have all been completely full (I have not done Princess or RCL from San Pedro but Bliss from San Pedro was full as well). Disney's Wonder from San Diego is always full as well. I think the cruising market on the west coast is growing rapidly. Lots of people coming in from Utah, Nevada, Arizona. -

I appreciate 5 day cruises. Did a 5 day on Bliss and thought it was a perfect length for a simple getaway. Being in San Diego, I welcome the new addition. But I am always left scratching my head why Carnival doesn't replace Catalina with San Diego. As I am somewhat biased, I just think SD offers much more bang for your buck than Catalina. And no tendering! -
It's been fun Radiance, but we're done ...
pc_load_letter replied to csm5986142's topic in Carnival Cruise Lines
Yes, I prefer Radiance to Panorama. -
Sea days can be cold with the wind. On sea days I only go in the pool after being in the hot tub for a bit. Port days were better for pool usage I thought.

Carnival Panorama boarding
pc_load_letter replied to carrieluvsgreg's topic in Carnival Cruise Lines
For us a couple weeks ago, boarding did not happen until almost noon, with my group, A3 not getting on until around 12:45. This spring break season I would anticipate the same timing. *When we arrived to the port around 10:15 am, people were still coming out with their suitcases.
