  1. it's about time Carnival had these longer itineraries. These will likely be a test to see how good or bad they sell. If successful, they'll keep them around.

The 11 day on the Dream on Jan. 14, 2016 would be my pick. Or I'd love to go out West again and do the 13 day on the Miracle.

  2. Don't know where they are going after tomorrow but tomorrow they will be in Grand Turk, just left the Bahamas. Hope this helps. :)

Grand Turk was cancelled and replaced with Port Canaveral. That's all I really know. Was just seeing if anyone knew the new order of ports. Today should be their final port stop before having two days at sea and arriving in New York on Tuesday.

  3. currently on the Explorer. everything is fine and RCCL is handling everything very well. We've seen the news(CNN) on the ship and they're blowing this up way beyond what it is. The staff has been wonderful, [almost] everyone seems satisfied with the compensation & this has been a terrific cruise. Nearly perfect weather, great food, met some great people and again, the staff has been wonderful.

  4. I think there's 2 big reasons why Carnival is opting not sail year-round from NYC.

    1. The Splendor can't compete with the Quantum & Breakaway.

    2. Outside of it's 8 day/one ways to San Juan, Carnival kept the same boring 8 day itinerary all year. RCCL offers various 7 to 12 day itineraries and are always changing them up slightly.

And Carnival has announced it will return to NYC starting in April 2015, they just haven't named what ship/schedule.

As for the 13 ships sailing out of Florida. This will only hurt Carnival in the long run, especially with some of them doing the exact same schedule. I can't imagine this many ships staying in Florida for that long. Carnival could have a ship move back to Mobile, have one of the Dream-class ships do longer runs(8-14 days), move another ship out west(maybe sailing out of San Francisco), etc. I'd expect some ship movement shortly from Carnival.

  5. saw Sheila Kay on my recent Miracle cruise and my family & I loved her. she was hysterical. At her last adult night, her time was going over and she yelled up to the host to go f*ck himself and not to tell Carnival her time was up. she went on for another 5 minutes. A lot of her act was interacting with the audience. all four comedians on our cruise were funny.
