I wonder if the Legend will return to Tampa in the spring/summer 2015. I thought the Legend was only going to be seasonal in Australia.
I just wish they thrown in a 9 or 10 day cruise here and there instead of the same 7 day schedule.

currently on the Explorer. everything is fine and RCCL is handling everything very well. We've seen the news(CNN) on the ship and they're blowing this up way beyond what it is. The staff has been wonderful, [almost] everyone seems satisfied with the compensation & this has been a terrific cruise. Nearly perfect weather, great food, met some great people and again, the staff has been wonderful.

looking at Secret Harbour Beach. There's only one other ship in port that day. We usually go to Coki, but we know the food isn't great and we want to try something new.

it's on Cruise Critic's news page.
:Once the Caribbean season comes to an end, the ship will return to New York City, Carnival spokesman Vance Gulliksen told Cruise Critic. -
I think there's 2 big reasons why Carnival is opting not sail year-round from NYC.
1. The Splendor can't compete with the Quantum & Breakaway.
2. Outside of it's 8 day/one ways to San Juan, Carnival kept the same boring 8 day itinerary all year. RCCL offers various 7 to 12 day itineraries and are always changing them up slightly.
And Carnival has announced it will return to NYC starting in April 2015, they just haven't named what ship/schedule.
As for the 13 ships sailing out of Florida. This will only hurt Carnival in the long run, especially with some of them doing the exact same schedule. I can't imagine this many ships staying in Florida for that long. Carnival could have a ship move back to Mobile, have one of the Dream-class ships do longer runs(8-14 days), move another ship out west(maybe sailing out of San Francisco), etc. I'd expect some ship movement shortly from Carnival.

sadly for the people of Baltimore, it looks like you'll be forever stuck with the Pride. As long as the Spirit is in Australia, the Miracle out west & the Legend spending its summers in Europe, the Pride is your only option.

saw Sheila Kay on my recent Miracle cruise and my family & I loved her. she was hysterical. At her last adult night, her time was going over and she yelled up to the host to go f*ck himself and not to tell Carnival her time was up. she went on for another 5 minutes. A lot of her act was interacting with the audience. all four comedians on our cruise were funny.

just curious, but which Fantasy-class ships have added balconies on and which ones are scheduled to have them added on??
anyone have an answer??
-
all junior suites on every Fantasy-class ship are the same size as a regular balcony stateroom on any other Carnival ship.

can pictures from Carnival ships be included even though it's a Princess thread??? I find this topic very interesting and I'll add it needs to be a "sticky".

I am cruising for free this coming January thanks to this credit card. It took 5 years to get all the points needed, but it was worth the wait. And considering how I likely wouldn't have be able to go on a cruise due to some financial problems this year, I'm very thankful to have signed up for this credit card.

WOW!! Look at how small that slide is!!!
It's a shame to know that my first ship, the Celebration, will be retired in a couple weeks. And within a year or so the Holiday will be gone. I love these smaller ships and will be going on the Inspiration in November and might actually do a b2b(10 day) on the Fascination in January over the 8 day on the Spirit.
It's official. Freedom to Galveston. Conquest to Fort Lauderdale. Magic stays in Gal.

I still wish Carnival would add some longer itineraries(10/11 days) here & there. Especially for the western Caribbean.
