  1. This is a different test from the same company. The self test has 2 tests in it and is not proctored. The home test is a single test and you have to do it online with someone at eMed for it to register your results. The self test will not satisfy all of the requirements that Carnival has in place. The eMed website has more information on the difference. This pic is from their site.
  2. I was wondering if anyone has any tips or tricks on ordering drinks in the MDR? I have tried to order pop (soda), alcoholic drinks, and espresso in the MDR and they all seem to take forever. I usually take something in with me, but if a drink on the menu looks good or I want an espresso with dessert, it slows everything down. Any good way to do this, so it doesn't cause such a disruption in service? I was thinking about ordering a dinner drink and coffee for dessert at the same time, but I don't know if they will let me when we have Cheers. TIA!
  3. I really appreciate this video! My tests get here today and we cruise in 11 days then again in 28 days. I am trying to leave the house as little as possible before the cruise and I figure that this is less exposure then going to a clinic where people may be sick. (Nothing is going to keep me off this ship except a positive test!) It is nice to see the process in advance, so we know what to expect. 🙂 Hopefully people will report on if this worked for them. <fingers crossed>
  4. I purchased a 6 pack yesterday and they should get here today. We have 2 cruises coming up (about a week apart) and wanted a "back up" test option just in case anything happens. Everything I read makes me believe that these will be accepted, but I am waiting on the updates to come flooding in as this protocol starts tomorrow. 😃
  5. Hi There! Ours leaves Seattle on Aug 24th and it can't come soon enough! I have read in a few places that the menu is a bit different when cruising north. Would you be able to screen shot the MDR menus on your cruise? I would love to get an idea of what to expect. Thanks so much and I look forward to seeing your review. 😃
  6. How did they know who to enforce them on? What did they have to see to know that someone was not vaccinated?
  7. There has been a lot of speculation on how the crew will be able to tell the difference between vaccinated guests and unvaccinated guests. For those who have cruised this month, what did they decide? Is there visible proof you are vaccinated (like an arm bad)? Is it a punch on your card? Is it nothing at all since it will most likely only be kids? TIA!
  8. Do these come as physical cards or in your email? I want to get an excursion that I am concerned will sell out. I don't know whether to order a GC or just do it through CC. If they send them, do you know how long it usually take for a $500+ to get sent? Thanks!
  9. Thanks all! It used to be right there easy to find! I have found it and ready to buy way too much!!! I appreciate it! 😁
  10. I don't have in room food and beverages. That's what is really weird! I always get something to have on board when we get there so I know it was on all my last cruises. Just not this one.
  11. I haven't see any pre-purchase booze available on any of my booked cruises and one leaves in 52 days 18 hours and 49 minutes. 😉 There are options for wine and champagne but nothing else. (Usually there are a ton of options for hard liquor.) Is anyone else able to purchase alcohol for your rooms?
  12. I just finished purchasing my 100 shares, and I'm not sure I understand exactly what they are looking for as proof. What are you folks requesting (from the place your purchased your stock through) that will only show the Carnival stock? TIA!!!
  13. Hi All, My son had a question last night that I hadn't thought about, so was hoping someone here could answer. We have never purchased a steakhouse selection in the MDR before. Just never saw the need. But, last night my son asked if we can order a main dish off the reg menu and a steakhouse selection at the same time. He is hoping that during a meal when they offer a good steak on the regular menu, he can order that and a lobster tail off the steakhouse selections portion for a surf and turf. I don't know why we had never thought about doing that before since the surf and turf option in the steakhouse left something to be desired. (Like more of it.) Is this possible? Can we order a main dish off the regular menu plus a steakhouse selection to make our own surf and turf?!? Has anyone done this? Thanks for your help!
  14. I have a cruise that was switched over to Miracle. I am not impressed with the ship itself and disappointed in the change. Does anyone know if they ever offer anything when they do a ship downgrade? I have never had this happen before. Then again.... I guess I should be grateful that they didn't cancel the cruise completely, like they have my last 5. 😉
  15. This is such great information! As of right now, there are 13 of us. I know we won't be eating together every night which is why just about everyone wanted YTD. We were hoping to all eat together on formal night and maybe one other night, but other that that it will probably be a small group at one time and a small group at another time. 😃 I will let the group know what you all have said!
