I just sailed on Horizon in March with Georgia and she was great! CD's don't usually have much of an effect on us either way, but she made a great cruise even more fun.

My family and I are going on a New Years cruise this December out of Port Canaveral. This is the first time I'm flying on Christmas week (looking to book Dec 26 or 27). For anyone who has flown into Orlando during this time of year, how far in advance should we book our flights? We plan on flying out of Connecticut. I normally book about 3 months out for my past Florida trips (between January and March).

Just off the Horizon and did Teppanyaki. It's a higher table and seating. Hopefully they can accommodate someone in a wheelchair though.

Morning: Bellini Poolside: Funship Dinner: Wine After dinner: Old Fashioned, Sidecar, or Pain Relief from Alchemy. My wife and I tried some sangrias at different bars on Horizon last week. All good, but the best was the Sake Sangria from Bonsai.

How was Barcelo? I was thinking about going there with my family on our New Years cruise.

Eagle Beach is Aruba is great.

Wasn't an issue 2 years ago. There was always some water there. Depending on the slight rocking of the ship, it would go from below ankle to above.

Last March, my wife and I were on Mardi Gras without Cheers. On sea days, we averaged 6 drinks each. On port days, we averaged 3-4 drinks. Drinks were almost all cocktails. After adding up all the drinks, we saved a total of $150 vs Cheers. However, we purchased 1 or 2 bottles of wine during the week and had 2-12 packs of bottled water delivered to our stateroom, which I didn't take into account. We also didn't order any specialty coffees or soda. We have purchased Cheers (1st time) for our next sailing. We will buy wine by the glass this trip. I feel it will be worth it for us, but we shall see.

Great find, thanks for sharing. Also, last time my Amex card had a 2% back Newegg offer. The terms state gift cards are not eligible, however I still received the 2% credit the next day.

I don't know if the Carnival gift card would qualify, but Amex has a 2% statement credit for Newegg purchases under offers.

We took the free wine offer once. It was a bottle of red Santa Helena. It was not very good imo. We barely drank a glass combined, and left the bottle behind. Not sure what the white wine brand was, but if it's Santa Helena, I'd pass. Rather take the 50% off deal instead.

In Aruba, we took a taxi to Eagle Beach and rented an umbrella and loungers. Beautiful beach. We also did the Sunset Sail through Carnival and that was great. In Bonaire, we took a taxi to Ocean Oasis. Really nice beach club. Great way to relax. We are going to Curaçao for the first time in March. We booked the Swimming with Turtles with Curaçao Dreams. Hopefully it's good.

I recommend Maya Chan. Beautiful place with great service. Local cuisine is served at lunch and it's delicious. A warning though. We were there in March 2023, and the sargassum was immense. The employees warned us before departing however. We were given the choice to cancel for a full refund. We opted to go, and despite not being really able to go in the water (and dealing with the occasional smell of rotting sargassum), it was still worth it. The owners are very friendly and the staff provided the best service we've probably experienced anywhere. Hopefully the sargassum issue has cleared up since.

It would nice if they can add Teppanyaki.

The Serenity pool on Mardi Gras was very busy when I sailed on it in March. Late afternoon/early evening it was less busy however. I didn't stay in Havana on Mardi Gras, but on Horizon it was never really busy. Small crowd, quiet. My favorite area on the Vista Class.

Same here. I purchased a shore excursion on 10/10 and still haven't received the 10% back. In the past, the discount would usually post about 2 days after purchase. I contacted customer support, and they claim it will post after 11/10 when the new cycle starts. I'll just have to wait and see what happens.

We ordered Fun Ships on Mardi Gras in March. They were $1 off at sailaway I believe. Just ask for the Fun Ship at most bars and they will know what it is.

Nice review, thanks for sharing! The Havana area is great! My wife and I booked it on our two cruises next year (Horizon and Vista). I haven't been able to find anything on the internet, but I wonder what upgrades (if any) Vista will get during the dry dock? Hoping they add Teppanyaki like they have on Horizon 😃.
