I didn't  notice anything different in CK. I'll  look in the suite lounge in a few as I forgot to look around. I do know there is still smoking on the suite deck on the bar side.

Is there a hot tub on the suite deck??

  2. We stayed in the very front crown loft suite on the harmony and loved it. It is slightly cheaper than the other side rooms because they said it was slightly obstructed but it wasn’t and we loved it. We loved the proximity to the lounge. We found it very quiet and enjoyable. We booked the same room on the oasis this year.

  3. Hi everyone,

We are booked on the oasis in Jan after refurb and we are wondering if they will be putting a hot tub on the suite sundeck like the harmony and the symphony? We really enjoyed it on the harmony last year.

Do you know if the rooms are getting any changes? We are staying in a crown loft suite and curious if they are updating the rooms?

    Thanks so much!

  4. Hi All,

We are wondering if we should book a cabana? We want to be sure to have a lounge chair on the beach where we can watch our kids 6 and 8 play in the water. Is it necessary? We’ve only ever done Disney and have always booked the cabana for the private beach but it sounds like in this beach you don’t need that. We are in a crown loft suite. Would appreciate any input. We’ve never cruise royal before.

    Cheers!

  5. Wow! Amazing. Thank you all for all of this amazing information. I really appreciate all of your insight.

We are not huge Disney fans. Our kids are now 6 and 8 and so they care much less about the Disney characters and to be honest they’ve done all of the cruises Disney offers except the Mediterranean and I feel like they are ready for something new.

The concierge level on Disney is exceptional. They knew us by name and went so far above and beyond so it will be big shoes to fill.

We do like to have some drinks so will likely do a drink package.

I’m still confused about the dining. Do we tip separately our servers in ck?

Do people have opinions on the restaurant where they make the food in front of you? We’d like to try that.

Is it worth getting off the ship at their island in Haiti? Castaway was so amazing, do I expect similar?

Cel_cruise your upside down lab is adorable!

Thank you all so much for your help!

  6. Thank you Bob! How hard is it to find a spot by the pool on a ship like the harmony of the seas?

I can help with some questions.

I would make reservations for the comedy show. The other venue you can walk in without reservations because you have a suite.

No reserved loungers right by the pool There is a suite lounger area, but it is two decks above the pool.

Boarding starts around 11am. Staterooms ready (including your suite) around 1pm.

  7. Hi all and thanks in advance for any help you can provide. We have never cruised any other line than Disney and so this process is a little different for us.

    1. Is the MDR food not good? It seems so many people do specialty. Do we need the dining plan?

    2. Is Costal Kitchen better than MDR? Can you eat all your meals there? Is it hard to get reservations there?

    3. If you get the meal plan do you just go to any of the specialty spots and eat or are there upcharges and things not included?? Can concierge make our reservations prior to us getting on the ship or do we have to wait in a line to book?

    4. Being a suite guest I've read that the lounge is open from 11-11 for beer and wine and water. Is this true?? DO I need a water package?

    5. Do we need beverage packages? If so are there certain drinks that are not included?

    6. Do our children need beverage packages or can they get juice and soft drinks from the lounge? If you don't have a drink package and you go to dinner you can't have a drink without paying for it? So sorry soft drinks are all free on disney so this is confusing for me.

    7. Do we need to book reservations for shows or is there preferred seating?

    8. Are there reserved loungers by the pools? Or is it all first come first serve?

    9. Do we have to book reservations to do the onboard activities like surf simulator? Abyss? mini golf? Is there a charge for these activities?

    10. Kids club- do we need to book times or can they go whenever they'd like?

    11. Best time to board? Are the rooms ready right away?

I'm sorry I know this is a lot!! I am just totally out of my element with this. It seems so different from disney where we have done our only 6 cruises. The concierge would email us and we'd say what we'd like and then that was that. It seems like the concierge is hit or miss with pre cruise emails and that there are lots of things you have to wait to do until you're onboard.

Thanks so much in advance for all of your help it seems like there is a wealth of very informed people on this board!!:)

  8. Which ship were you on? We are big water drinkers and were counting on being able to get water from the lounge

    Thanks

We had trouble getting bottled water last week from the Suite Lounge. I asked the Concierge and she directed me to the bar. The bartender looked like I had asked for something really esoteric and went into the storage room for a few minutes. He finally handed me 4 bottles of water (there were 4 of us) and said that they don't normally have bottled water so he had to find it.

My understanding was that our automatic gratuities went towards the main dining staff and the room steward. All drink purchases had an 18% gratuity added to the bill and we usually gave a few dollars more on top of that. Room service is free, so we tipped in cash. The cards for ordering room service are the same used throughout the ship, so it says a charge will be made for delivery, but in grand suites and higher it is actually included in the room charge.

I made reservations for all shows that I could online, but there are reserved seats in the larger venues that you can sit in as long as you arrive early enough. They open those seats to all a few minutes before the shows start.

But the RCI site gives you a good outline of what you get.

  9. Good Morning,

I would really appreciate some advise from those of you whom may have some insight. We are a family of 4 with two grade school children and are looking for haven access but don't want to pay for the two bedroom. Which of these would you recommend? The aft balcony is lovely but not sure how much time we'd actually be there. The H8 I assume is the some as the forward facing but has ability to connect which we don't need.

They are closer being forward to the haven but small balcony. Anyone have thoughts on which aft level is best we can choose from 13/11/10.

    Thanks so much!

  10. What is a pilot cabin? What does srr mean?

    Thanks

Hey we initially booked that cabin but went down to deck 11. While this cabin is couple of ship stories to the Haven Enclave, it have a smaller balcony, and may potentially be slightly smaller if the stats a TA posted on the Everything Bliss link. Just something to consider. We are hoping for pictures or layout. Plans but are now assuming it is nothing more than a H 7 with the connecting doors, maybe smaller balcony if it too close to the pilot cabin. We will srr.
