Seconding, we are big fans of Nachi Cocum when we want a beach day in Cozumel
Yep, nice place did it about 4 X's build in $15-$20 taxi fare each way in your budget. That was for two of us, last time 3 years ago. We now stay close to town and visit local friends.

I hate to hear that since Regal has arrived in Galveston the embarkation & disembarkation process seems to be in disarray. Having sailed out of Galveston many times and 3 times at the beginning of 2023 on the Ruby, I can attest to the fact that we had no such issues and things moved smoothly and quickly but facial recognition definitely makes things speedy. Having the Regal booked in 2024 from Galveston, I hope this gets turned around and goes back to "normal" soon. Any thoughts that doing away with boarding times could be adding to the long lines, at least for embarkation?
Yep, us too. 3X's on the Ruby last year, the on and off process was a breeze. Of course, we live close to the pier and opt for a 1-2 o'clock boarding time.

Please post next week if you have the same long disembarkation line as today.
A friend that was on the 11-5 sailing it took them 2 hours from ship to car. She heard facial recognition was gone unlike last spring when I sailed, it was like 15 minutes, and you are out of here. Something is amiss.

Let us know if they are using facial recognition, last cruise they didn't and the line was, well.............

Normally I would air dry in one of these bars with a couple salda vidas but I just realized I left my wallet on the ship. I have no money with me. I’m going to walk around the retail area and see if I can find a store that takes Princess pay and has a beer fridge but it seems to only be one or two stores per port.

Rookie mistake...........have you left your medallion in the room yet and locked yourself out?

I have the Princess Plus and am sailing on the Regal Princess in a couple of weeks. Can anyone tell me how the drink package is handled on the first day. I paid for the first day but am seeing that it might not work or is limited and they offer a $25 OBC to compensate for anything that might be purchased before the drink package starts working. Thank you
Last spring on the Ruby, sailing at 1600 hrs, we were drinking on the package by 1830 hrs. Yes, they do give you $25 OBC, plus you can bring two bottles of wine on board. Of course this doesn't help out the beer drinkers in the crowd.
This is better than another line that sails out of GLS where they wait until the next day.

Nope. You pretty much have to hope they put something good in that insert.Try off the menu. It might be like the MDR and Caesar salad, shrimp cocktail, and banana splits were not on the menu, but you can request them. Well, it was in the spring.

Facial recognition at terminal, why wasn't it utilized on debarkation? Is this going to be permanent?
-
In March and April, it was in the MDR on the Ruby.

Our last few cruise have been aboard the Regal and Enchanted. Back in 2010, I think you could smoke about anywhere outside on the starboard side of the Crown. I don't know where the designated outdoor smoking area about the Ruby are. Can anyone clue me in about where the approved area are located?
Deck 7 Starboard Aft Outside
Casino some slots when playing
Deck 16 forward outside near some bar
Inside Speakeasy Cigar Room (Casino area)

So I am a horrible insomniac and I rarely get more than 3 hours of sleep per night, but these beds on Princess are heavenly. I got like 6 hours of sleep last night and it was amazing!!!
I’m really going to miss these beds. I even have some cariloha bamboo sheets I got from a past cruise in 2017 at home but these beds are still much more comfortable.
Goodnight! In just a little more than eight hours we will be walking off the ship an I’ll be starting the drive back home 😭👎🏻😪
I think you can order one if you like it so much. They use to be custom made from somewhere in NY if beliee.

I just booked a cruise this morning.. I was able to find an acceptable date and time for the Crown Grill, so I reserved it using the MedallionClass app. My credit card was charged immediately and the reservation initially appeared in the Dine My Way section of the app. Now the app shows no record of the reservation, but it will let me book the MDR (or Sabbatinis) for the same day. So do I have a CG reservation and how do I prove it when I get on the ship. All I can show is a credit card charge from "PRINCESS CRUISES PASSA" for $78.
Same thing happened to me. I went to GS and explained and they were able to see where I had paid. I was told to keep the reservation and GS credited my OB account. However, I did go by CG and confirm that my reservation was still on the books. All was good.

According to buoy 42019 (100 mi offshore) in the gulf, Max swells are forecasted as 6-8 with a 6 second between crest. Windy predicts a NE wind 22mph. Wave height will remain however winds will subside t3mph when you're alongside tomorrow.

We went to the Captain's Circle party tonight. The captain can be pretty funny as he told stories mostly about himself. Probably the most personable captain we have ever come across. Here are the statistics for our cruise for those interested:
First timers 1956
Gold (after one cruise) 558
Ruby (after three cruises) 199
Platinum (after 5 cruises) 298
Elite (after 15 cruises) 132
1st most - 1799 days
2nd most - 1034 days
3rd most - 993 days
Earlier I was told 360 minors aboard.
The numbers were similar on our 3-19 sailing, lots of newbies. Yes, Captain Lewis is quite an entertaining guy. We have sailed with him 3 times this year. Being a SOASOAS, I never wanted to miss his noon announcements. When we board tomorrow, he will start his holiday.

On this and many, many other issues. I’m sorry the weather affected your cruise so badly. I do know that your same captain made it into Costa Maya on two recent occasions when other cruise ships begged off.
Yep, we were there in mid-January and saw a big MSC ship refuse to dock due to sea and wind conditions. So this time it must have been really bad. As they say, IT HAPPENS ...................

I’m on the boat also, Maya Chan emailed us yesterday canceling our beach day today because of high winds/waves bringing in a huge amount of sargassum. I don’t blame any captain canceling today the way the wind is howling.
Mike and Paulia
So true, just checked winds ond you're getting a steady 20K, with 30K gust from the ESE, not good for COsta Maya docking.

Thanks for the suggestion! We actually have an excursion booked to the Chaccoben ruins. Excited for thatHydrate it gets hot in the jungle.

It will tomorrow when you deck in Costa Maya. Malecon 21 is a beach club in town. We go there every time when can. Usually you need reservations, but maybe you could snag a lounge. They do have a website, and it's an interesting ride to town.

Thanks for explaining it better than I could. I do agree that I think we gave up too early. I have a hard time believing that three other larger ships could dock but we couldn’t.
This stinks as MB is by far the best port on this itinerary IMHO. Also means I probably won’t be getting a beach day anymore since all the Cozumel clubs are likely sold out.
Huge bummer
Try Del Mar Latino Cozumel, it's either a short walk towards town (1/2 mi) or an $8 cab ride. It's small and the service is good. If you can get a reservation, get there early to insure a prime spot. It's $39 pp all inclusive, but it does have a small beach area that is not on the coast. However, you do have steps down to the waters edge.

Heading out for a cruise this weekend out of Galveston. Does Ruby Princess have prune juice available? We have an individual in our group that needs to drink this for health reason.
Thank you!
There is a LIVE review from Talkorpi for the 4-2 sailing. If you ask, I'm sure they'll check and respond.

We haven't had Boddington since the Ruby's been in GLS. The Ruby musted have gotten a shipment of Grolsch, it is a good beer for the pub lunch.

FYI, Captain Lewis is going on holiday starting the 4-9-23 sailing. His dry humor will be missed. I don't know who the relieving skipper is, so if you get a chance see if you can find out. TIA
