  1. Does this mean we’re actually getting 3 per night, so on a 7 day cruise, I’d come away with 21? I just added it to my reservation and forgot to ask….
  2. How do you get a PCC? I have had a few cruises booked, sailed, canceled, rebooked, etc, and can never get the same person on the phone, let alone a direct phone number...
  3. Bring it on! Gem 8/15! Who’s with me!?!?!? (Trying to do my best John Belushi Animal House impression)
  4. Not for nothing, I have a cruise booked on 8/15 and I'm stuck doing all NCL excursions. Granted, they're not AS expensive as I thought, but one would think they would give a little more than $50 shore excursion credit. I want to just get off the ship, and go to the beach and it's still costing me and my wife $60 for 3 hours.
  5. I posted this earlier, but I had a cruise canceled on 8/15/21 Venice-Greece. I booked the same day as they canceled on the Gem on 8/15/21 from DR. I was unable to use 2 CNC on my booking because I was 130 days out, not 180. They wouldn't budge. I got a "Resolution Specialist" who after I yelled, cursed, screamed at her, she gave me a whopping $50 OBC. I also lost $200 OBC that I had from a DASH Sale on my prior canceled cruise. I ended up selling my CNC for what I paid ($125) and am putting that towards the mandated NCL ONLY Excursions that we need to use if we plan on leaving the ship in port.....
  6. Booked on Gem from DR on 8/15, and no excursions are posted yet. Wonder what the hold up is, given the fact that we cannot get off the ship without an NCL excursion....Anyone have any clues?
  7. Yeah, no such luck. I called and spoke to a couple levels of customer service, ended up with a "resolution specialist", no help. I also lost out on the $200 OBC that I had, so being out $450 in real cash, plus losing 1 night of specialty dining and the new gratuities in place, all they gave me was $50 OBC.
  8. Being in the wine business, Andre is the finest cuvee ever made. Trust me, no headache, no cotton mouth the next morning, absolutely no "chumming" overboard if you have a balcony room. LOL!! IIRC, because it's been so long since my last cruise, Wifey and I would get a btl of Veuve at dinner every night, along with another bottle OR two of wine for dinner. They did, however have a marketing deal with Veuve (Moet Hennessey) that the glass price was $34.95, and with the PPBP, you're capped at $35, and the bottle was $99, but available with the upgrade. If I wanted just a glass of wine to try, the servers never had a problem opening another bottle for me, and if I liked it, I'd take it to go. Granted, this was when the PPBP was JUST rolling out, as a matter of fact, I think we were the first sailing on Breakaway that offered it, so there was MASS confusion all week long! Definitely worth the upgrade if you do like to drink the better quality wines and spirits, especially if you're a bourbon/rye drinker like my wife and I, cause I'm not going to be stuck with JD all week...
  9. Which sailing? We just booked 8/15 yesterday!
  10. Wish I could. I was booked on the 8/15 sailing from Venice to Greece because it's my one summer weeks off. I would love to go in October, it is my anniversary month, but I just get too busy with work, unfortunately..
  11. So my cruise on Dawn for 8/15 got the boot today, and decided to go on the first sailing on the Gem out of DR on the same dates, and very similar money, and from what I see, a great itinerary! While booking, they got me with the free airfare for 2nd guest. They showed $299 from EWR-Punta Cana and when it booked, it shows $599! The guy said it was a loophole that they had said "Average price per passenger", so fancy wording, they got me. HOWEVER.....I had originally booked my cruise with two CruiseNEXT certs, and now they said that since I'm within 180 days of sailing, I will lose one of them. Shocked that they canceled my cruise, and since I booked the same day for the same date, they couldn't honor that. Baffled and now stuck with $500 in CN. Don't know if and when I'll use them, but looking to get rid of it if anyone is interested...
  12. I’m looking to buy 2 certificates....no need to cancel if you can sell them and someone else can use them.....
  13. Breakaway is awesome! If you're in the Haven for $1000 more than a 5 day on a small ship, I'd go for the Haven on BA! Don't know if you automatically get the Thermal Suite access though....check into that
  14. First thing first, get a drink at the first bar I see! Then go to the box office to book anything I couldn’t book online prior to embarking, like Headliners. Last trip we took, we had to go to Headliners to pay for the PPBP, at that time, there was no option to pay upfront online. Check out the pool, especially since I will be flying down in my bathing suit!!! Then more cocktails, a bite to eat at the buffet and then continue with more drinks in order to maintain a constant buzz that will continue throughout the voyage!
  15. They used to have Veuve as part of the Premium Plus. I saw they changed it to Moet Imperial, which is still a decent champagne, but yeah, watch out for that swill they give when you order bubbles....its borderline undrinkable
  16. I think rape is a little harsh, eh? How bout assault, battery, murder? Why not throw them in too! FYI, they cannot drink already. The drinking age out of US Ports is 21. With parent's consent, at age 18, they can consume wine and beer, no liquor. They also do not qualify for an alcoholic drink package.
  17. We booked two adjoining rooms with our 2 kids 15/13 at the time. They both stayed in one room, we stayed in the other. On the reservation, you need one adult 21+ booked in each room, on paper, but then we went to Guest Services to get extra keys and swap. Well, let me tell you, it sounds so flipping easy, but it was the worst nightmare ever! They couldn't figure out how to change them, and we ended up carrying 2 key cards at a time, one as a room key, and the other for charges/drinks...
  18. These are fine, but you will really want to get your card punched and not put in the pouch, as you have to swipe your card for every drink and for dinner and such. Total pain in the butt to take out every time. My suggestion is to get one that has a break away clip, trust me, it's better than either unclipping the card, or taking the lanyard off over your head.
  19. We did a Meet & Greet on our cruise last year and the person who organized it had arranged for NCL to get us personalized lanyards with the breakaway clip (no pun intended, we were on the Breakaway), and she had also brought a hole punch with her!!! Great idea! I believe you can also go to guest services to get it punched also. Bringing the same one I had on that cruise, and hopefully will get it punched on board.
  20. The card will say PBP (Premium Beverage Package) of if you're a raging alcoholic like me, it'll read PPBP (Premium PLUS Beverage Package). We cruised last August when the PPBP was BRAND NEW and all the bartenders questioned it just about every time I ordered a double Woodford and Ginger....
  21. Great review, thanks! We were on the ship in August, going again in April. This time we did buy the Priority Access, mainly because we're going to GSC (with a little bit of luck we'll get there the two days) and didn't want to wait for tenders... You had mentioned that you had priority tags for your luggage for disembarking, what about boarding? Did your bags come to your room randomly at 1:30, or were they marked priority like some airlines do with first class bags? TIA
  22. Harvest Caye definitely IS beautiful. The beach was nice, the water had a decent amount of seaweed, but its natural, nothing that can really be done about it. There were enough loungers at the beach because everyone and their mother took the loungers at the pool. The pool is AMAZING, clean, crisp and gigantic. Nice little waterfall feature under the pedestrian bridge, very little shade at in the pool. Those are the positives.....if you do plan on staying on the ship, you'll enjoy free food, free drinks (assuming you have the drink package), and free everything else....NOTHING is free on the island, even if you have the drink package, beers cost at least $10, forget food...you're stuck, unless you go back on the ship.
  23. Was wondering, like at the airport, if you buy first class, or have priority access or something, they put a tag on the luggage so it's first on the baggage carousel. Oh well...
  24. I’m wondering the same thing. Going on a. 4 nighter, but thinking that since we’re in port 3 out of 4 days, but also GSC 2 of those days, not sure how much use we’d get out of it without having a sea day, unless not able to tender at GSC.....
  25. Leaving in 50+ days, eDocs ready to be printed, where’s my transfers?? Booked my cruise through a TA (friend of ours), and paid for the transfers right away. There was a price drop about a week and change after I booked, so I told my TA (again, friend of mine who does this less than part time) and she called and got my lower rate, GREAT! Saved almost $300. Went and downloaded my eDocs today, and the transfers weren’t on there. I called NCL, got someone on board, and said that the $118 ($29pp, back and forth) was refunded a month ago. I was out of the country at the time, and I had no clue, nor did I see a credit on my card statement, as they said they gave me a credit. Got a supervisor on the phone who tried to explain it all to me, and it was an accounting thing. I paid the $128, which was then credited to my account, which lowered my final payment by $118, but the actual transfer fell off the reservation, and nobody told my TA about it. I said to the person what would’ve happened if I got to the airport and had no transfer? She said, I have no clue! Bottom line, I had to rebook and pay for the transfers again, which is a pain in the butt, because I thought I paid it all off already! Just one more thing. So FYI, if you do rebook for a lower price before final payment, make sure that all of your bookings that you’ve paid for already are still there. Interestingly enough, I had paid for the Priority Access for $99 that was still on there, and that didn’t go into the final payment and drop off.....
