    Well said.

    Tips for the Pearl?

They are definitely fresh water. We were just on this ship in June.

    NCL Pearl question

I'm sorry I can't answer the question about the TV stations. They do have one station that plays alot of movies. We enjoyed that every night at bedtime. When you arrive at the dining room, they'll ask how many are in your party. They'll just seat you at a table for 2. We have never been put with larger groups, and we tend to eat at 6:30 or so. There are soft-serve machines in the buffet, right next to the hand-dipped ice cream. They have chocolate, vanilla and swirl. There's another machine at the outdoor buffet, and I believe it had strawberry and vanilla. You will love your cruise! It's a beautiful ship, and freestyle dining is the best!

    "The Quest" NCL vs. RCL

No problem - thanks. I hear ya on this. I blush when we watch Family Guy together :)

    "The Quest" NCL vs. RCL

As I said, we have seen this three times on RCCL, so I figured I knew what it was about and that he could handle it. After all, an 18 year old can vote, join the military, go to R-rated movies, and he is headed to college in two months. Heck, he can even drink a beer in Mexico. So to me, he is an ADULT. Was I ready for the "69" thing? Nope. Live and learn. The OP asked if the games are similar on the two different lines, and I was just giving an answer to that question.

    "The Quest" NCL vs. RCL

We have seen The Quest on RCL 3 times, and just saw it for the first time on The Pearl. They were similar, but NCL was much raunchier. Since my 18 y.o. son was with me, I was a little bit more uncomfortable. At one point, they asked couples to lie down on the floor in a "69" position. They also had couples come up and exchange clothes. At that point, the women had already given up their bras so we saw WAY more than we wanted to on the women (I know you think my DS probably loved it, but he turned his head as they weren't "his type" of women). Yes, it's funny to some people, but I saw several people walk out. You decide.

Has anyone been this sick after returning?

It is now Sunday, one week after disembarking, and he is doing so much better. He even went out for a run and to shoot baskets last night. He feels a slight bit of rocking, but no more nausea. Throughout the week, he also had headaches, diarrhea and dizziness. After reading so many comments about the patch, and then reading more online, I really think that he had patch withdrawal symptoms. Apparently this happens after wearing it for an extended length of time (7-day cruise). So maybe I can convince him to get back on a cruise ship someday! I'll just make sure he doesn't use the patch again. Again, thanks for all the kind words and bits of advice.

Has anyone been this sick after returning?

Great advice - thanks. He did go to our general practitioner, who then sent him to a neurotologist. They have a "balance clinic," where they did some crazy therapy on him. I'm starting to think that the patch did this to him. I keep reading on these boards and other places that prolonged use of the patch (as in a 7-day cruise) can actually cause withdrawal problems. There is even a syndrome named for it. IF I ever get him on another cruise ship, he will not use the patch. The rest of us just used ginger, and we're all doing well. Speaking of ginger, someone left a message yesterday about ginger ale, saltines and chicken broth. My husband had this for lunch today and is feeling a tad bit better. I love these boards! Thanks so much to everyone for the advice and support!

Thank you for the kind words and the advice on acupuncture. He called the chiropractor today, but the office was closed. He's definitely open to alternative methods, so I will pass this on.

Thanks Lance. We'll try this tomorrow, and he'll ditch the peanut butter for sure.

Thanks Joel. I will call the chiropractor tomorrow and let you know how it turns out.

Thanks for the suggestions! It's funny that you mention the paper with the X. The doctor that he went to gave him a paper with a checkerboard and the letter B in the middle of it. This actually made him feel worse (knocked him out for 7 hours), so he called back, and they said to discontinue. I love the idea of the chiropractor. We have a great chiro that we call our "voodoo doc" because he fixes the strangest maladies in the strangest of ways. I'm going to call him tomorrow. This is way more than a case of a rocking sensation. The man is usually very active, works out 7 days a week, works around the house, etc. He is not at all a whiner when it comes to illness, but he is down for the count, very sick.

    Pearl Review - 6/8 - 6/15

We stayed at the Marriott Waterfront. It cost $33 for the taxi from the airport. In the morning, we literally walked across the street to board the Pearl. It was a nice hotel and within walking distance of Pike's Market, which we thoroughly enjoyed. Have a great trip!

Has anyone been this sick after returning?

Yikes! I sure hope it doesn't last for months. He hasn't been able to go to work all week. He can barely eat anything more than crackers and peanut butter. And the worst thing of all is that I don't think he'll ever cruise again  What am I going to do? After all, isn't this all about me ;)

Do they provide shampoo, soap etc?

One other thing I forgot to mention - we were in an oceanview room, so maybe the suites and villas get that perk (?)
