  1. As previously mentioned, just remember that if you have to use one of their chairs for anything other than embarkation, debarkation or an on-board emergency, you will be charged rental for the full length of your cruise no matter how brief your useage.

    May you never need them!!!

  2. We circumnavigated Iceland last summer including the Golden Circle. I was using my rolling walker. I did on occasion do three or four steps but accommodations were an issue only one time. I brought my handing disabled tag and found handicapped parking in at least half of the paved parking lots. I saw EVERYTHING! I may not have gotten the "perfect" view or pic but my boyfriend always did.

A wheelchair or scooter would not be able to go all the places I did. The extent of your disability could make a difference for you. If you have questions I'm at lacat3cruising dot gmail

  3. When I was in southern Europe in 2013, I used my scooter at the Vatican and the museum. The far left ticket window at the museum is for those with disabilities. I was led to believe that the ticket would be pro-rated based on percentage level of disability. I'm from the US and have a "disabled" driver's license. I was surprised to be granted free admission and even free use of the audio tour. I was granted the same type of access at other sites in Italy and Greece. It is something to look into.

BTW, I travel alone and had no real problems only the usual inconveniences.

  4. I am considering taking my first river cruise next year in Europe. Although I have often cruised alone, I am curious as to what the average percentage of solo cruisers are on most European river cruises?

I appreciate any feedback/advise you can give me.

    THANKS!

  5. I organized the M & G for last year's VoV. Our group was just over 100. I did get the list of all the officers from Seattle but rechecked at thte Front Desk once I was on board and was able to make changes to correspond with the last minute staff changes. Not only did every officer I invited come but the Captain/CD/?? arranged for additional staff to attend. The only one missing was the officer on the bridge. Not only did each one address our group but they also stayed and mingled for the remainder of our scheduled time. We were also treated to champagne and all sorts of food.

I did make it clear to my fellow passengers during the planning stages that no private excursion organization was to take place as long as any ship's officers were present.

I wish you as good luck with your M & G this year!
