  1. Good Morning America just had a reporter on MSC’s Grandiosa, showing parts of the ship on their current cruise. This included medical area with “several more ventilators” and isolation rooms. it was fun watching people “live” on a cruise ship .... but I’m not ready to be a test subject. My next cruise was booked in a balcony, in Case of quarantine. But reading about isolation rooms near the medical center (same as MSC just showed on GMA), those infected won’t get to stay in their cabins after all - but will be isolated in single-occupancy (inside?) cabins near medical.
  2. your made-up cruise is the Best! Where else can you find an empty hot tub on demand? Magical! picture quoted for effect
  3. thanks, @Coralc I’m not that good at posting links. I appreciate your help adding it here.
  4. Hi! Stumbled upon a Live review From @Germancruiser over on the Celebrity board. Today is their last sea day on Mein Schiff 2. Fun to see a Live, and read how other lines are coping with new regulations.
  5. Love this one! (Sorry, needed to quote pic)
  6. that is a good question. I read my email again, and it states if you want to move to one of Allure’s itineraries - but I don’t see a date restriction, like a lift and shift has (+/- 4 weeks). hope someone is successful and reports back
  7. CatQ - oh that is interesting! I hadn't looked at the itineraries. I hope someone who tries to move to Allure can come back and let us know. Thanks!
  8. also, i posted a new thread - an email I received today. It's allowing those booked on Allure out of Galveston to move BACK to one of the Allure new itineraries - price protected. Finally a solution for those who wanted Allure.
  9. This email was just received at 1:00. 3rd email iteration, customers (l&s, stayed with Liberty, cancel, or not) can NOW book back on Allure out of Florida, price-protected. Sorry about formatting while pasting. ABOUT YOUR UPCOMING TRAVELS Dear Guest, Last week, we shared that due to shipyard closures and disruption to supply chain caused by this pandemic, Allure of the Seas’ amplification was being moved to a later date. And, as a result of pier construction delays in the Galveston terminal, Allure of the Seas would no longer sail from Galveston during the Winter 2021 - 2022 deployment. So, we had to move you to a similar itinerary onboard Liberty of the Seas. Well, we have great news to share! We’ve been working tirelessly on confirming Allure’s new itineraries. And if you had your heart set on the ship, and the embarkation port was not the most important factor for you - you’ll be able to book Allure today! We wanted you to be the first to know since your sailing was unfortunately impacted. 😊 If you’ve already moved to the comparable Liberty of the Seas sailing or an alternate 7-night Caribbean sailing and would like to stay, there’s nothing for you to do. If you prefer to move to one of Allure’s new itineraries, call us by July 7, 2020 at 888-281-9344 and we’ll be happy to re-book, even if you cancelled your reservation or if you took advantage of our Lift and Shift offer. If you choose to move to Allure of the Seas, you’ll receive the following: Your original cruise fare paid for Allure of the Seas will be price protected at the original cruise fare rate or reduced to the current cruise fare rate (whichever is lower). This excludes taxes, fees, gratuities, and other non-cruise fare items. If you were already paid in full and your cruise fare rate decreases, we’ll provide you with a refund if there is any difference in pricing. You can expect to receive your refund to your original form of payment 45 days after you submit your refund request. Kindly note, refund times may vary depending on your financial institution. We’ll also waive any non-refundable deposit change fees associated with the move. Please know, if you weren’t previously booked on a holiday sailing (Christmas, New Year’s, and Easter), sailings during that timeframe are excluded from your options. Lastly, if you opted into the Cruise with Confidence 100% Future Cruise Credit prior to this email, you will be able to take advantage of this new offer. Your vacation is important to us and we really look forward to welcoming you onboard! Please call us at 888-281-9344 or contact your Travel Advisor by July 7, 2020 to let us know if you’d like to change your sailing to a new Allure of the Seas itinerary. If we don’t hear from you by July 7, 2020, no action will be taken and you’ll remain booked on the Liberty of the Seas sailing. And remember, you’ll still have the flexibility to cancel through our Cruise with Confidence program up to 2 days before your departure date. Click here to learn about this program. We hope you find another cruise vacation with us. Whether you are celebrating a special occasion or looking to explore, relax, and recharge - we have no doubt your time with us will be nothing short of amazing. We look forward to welcoming you onboard. Sincerely, Royal Caribbean International Hopefully all you Star class customers can finally get your neat suites back on Allure!
  10. Happy this worked out for you! Thank you for sharing, it may help others in the same situation
  11. I just got a new email from Royal Caribbean with the amended offer, if guests don’t want the replacement Liberty sailing. @twangster, they were wrong to refuse to price-protect A new ship for you, “ You may choose to remain on the Liberty of the Seas sailing we moved you to. However, you now have the option to move to any 7-night Caribbean itinerary within 4 weeks of your original sail date, including itineraries that visit our one of a kind private destination, Perfect Day at CocoCay! If you choose to move your Liberty of the Seas reservation to another sailing, you'll receive the following: Your original cruise fare paid for Allure of the Seas will be price protected at the original cruise fare rate or reduced to the current cruise fare rate (whichever is lower). This excludes taxes, fees, gratuities, and other non-cruise fare items. If you were already paid in full and your cruise fare rate decreases, we'll provide you with a refund if there is any difference in pricing. You can expect to receive your refund to your original form of payment 45 days after you submit your refund request. Kindly note, refund times may vary depending on your financial institution. We'll also waive any non-refundable deposit change fees associated with the move. Please know, if you weren't previously booked on a holiday sailing (Christmas, New Year's, and Easter), sailings during that timeframe are excluded from your options. Lastly, if you opted into the Cruise with Confidence 100% Future Cruise Credit prior to this email, you will be able to take advantage of this new offer. If you can't find a new cruise itinerary that works for you and choose to cancel, we'll be sad to see you go: We'll process a full refund of any paid portion of your cruise fare to the original form(s) of payment, including any non-refundable deposit. Lastly, if you used a Cruise with Confidence certificate on this sailing, and you request a refund instead, we'll refund any NEW funds paid above the certificate amount, and we'll reinstate your original Cruise with Confidence certificate. “
  12. Glad you were able to get deposits refunded. I wish they would have honored your price on another sailing. Doesn’t seem right.
  13. firefly, if you are cutting and pasting from someone’s personal messages with you, imho it’s not appropriate to post that first paragraph. John is a respected poster on this board.
  14. for those of you that had Allure (non-suite) bookings with a Refundable deposit, call and ask for your new invoice if they have advised you were switched to Liberty sailing. My original 4-day Allure was booked with a Refundable deposit. I called yesterday and asked for an invoice, and saw they transferred my booking to the Liberty as Non-refundable. I was able to talk to Resolutions, and they quickly created a new Refundable reservation.
  15. How can they even think Star Loft to accessible JS is equitable? I would work on them for a refund. Good luck!
  16. I’m sorry for you - your Star class is for sure NOT an even trade. Hope they give you an equitable solution. You deserve it. My scenario was a simple one. I had a deck 8 balcony on Allure. They switched me to Liberty deck 7 hump balcony. good luck!
  17. I was booked on the 4-day Allure inaugural from Galveston. My letter from Royal indicates they will move me to a November 7, 2021, 7-day Liberty cruise. It’s price protected from the 4 day Allure, or price will be reduced if the Liberty sailing is less expensive. What I thought Was interesting, is they have already assigned and given me a new cabin number for the alternate cruise. Nice cabin location. Guess I’ll just have an extra year to anticipate an Oasis-class. I love Liberty, so will take the alternate cruise anyway. Hey, 7 days is better than 4 anyway you look at it.
  18. Oh, I’m so glad I stumbled on this review. Quebec, and this itinerary are on my bucket list. Thanks for wonderful pics! Enjoying the Adventure commentary and pics, too. My first cruise was on Adventure in 2003, and she still holds a special place in my heart. I imagine most people feel that way about their first cruise ship. thanks for taking the tIme to create and share your review.
  19. Interesting, especially checking the infected family’s home. I wonder how they Would explain the numerous cases on say, the Diamond Princess, while the guests were isolated in their rooms? I’m not disputing, just curious.
  20. understood. Perhaps if you proactively ask them if they could authorize a complimentary relocation of Your stateroom as a precaution? Especially since you appear to be a group, power in numbers.
  21. OP, here is the 2nd link which mentions Scylla measures, AMA and the other River cruise operators may or may not incorporate them. https://www.cruisecritic.com/news/5336/
