  1. If I'm reading this correctly, which I'm really not sure I am, the Pride won't be going into Baltimore until the full channel is open. Carnival Pride has a displacement of 85,920 tons. "vessels greater than 60,000 long tons of displacement will most likely not be allowed to transit" REF: https://homeport.uscg.mil/Lists/Content/DispForm.aspx?ID=89633&Source=/Lists/Content/DispForm.aspx?ID=89633
  2. Final Review Score 10/10 More value then we paid for, worth it, awesome. Would we book YC again, YES!!!! I think the key take away with MSC is you get to pick the experience level when booking, choose wisely, and set expectations inline with that. There's always bumps and hurdles with any vacation, with the right mindset any vacation is a good vacation.
  3. At the end of the cruise, getting off the ship was easy. We added a transfer to MIA (twenty one bucks pp) and they gave us the luggage tags with number 5 on them. At 7:45 we met the butler in the lounge, we had one carry on so he took that and led us down to deck 6 to be scanned out. Off the ship, we headed to pickup the luggage (which had the same number on it), and off we went to the bus. The baggage area, and lack of walking space in the row meant one person could get the bag, and then walk back down the row, then another could go in to get another bag. They should have had more space between rows. The bus drops you off at one end or the other, and it's a hike to the terminal as MIA is a mess of an airport. I'd recommend taking an Uber and skipping the bus transfer. I'm not sure of the Captains name, but he ends every notice with "Bye Byeeeee" 🙂
  4. Mustafa noted he will still be in September. YC time is almost up for us, disembarking in the morning. Love YC, still a 10/10. We where able to get any food from any dining menu if we asked in advance. Not sure if that is a policy or courtesy. One member of our group has dietary restrictions so they loved getting option's from anywhere (basically). Great job MSC YC
  5. Mustafa has been great, and on top of things. Fresh OJ, great breakfast with a view.
  6. MUSTER DRILL - new format, go at any time after boarding to have card scanned, watch video in room at any time, dial 881 from cabin phone and done. Room - Every drawer is soft close, spotless, smells great, that diffuser is a nice touch. Shower had great pressure and plenty of room in (Deluxe Grand suite). Closet and two wardrobes give plenty of space. Sofa is comfy, deck is a good size and they brought a lounger after asking.
  7. Overall: 10/10 Amazing Cleanliness - Super clean areas Food - Excellent food, except the burgers, which need some donkey sauce or something, still decent, but Guys burgers are better. I rate it better then the Four Seasons which we stayed at pre cruise. Staff - Room bulter team, the best we have had, Gusti is amazing. Crew are super friendly and quick. Top sail lounge, awesome, great snacks and instant bar service willing to make pretty much any drink you can think of. Pool deck, wonderful and the crew picks up left over towels every half hour, so no chair hogs. Overall, as of day 3, best experience ever from more then 15 other cruises with other lines. The ship, a beautiful and super shiney ultra clean masterpiece. Well done MSC, you have taken the top spot with Yacht Club experiences. We haven't tried the other experience offerings. You get what you pay for.
  8. Links to the time where he shows the bathrooms Owners Suite, yes, - https://youtu.be/G1sYPAySNN4?t=41 Royal Suite, yes, - https://youtu.be/lxs_lffbBrU?t=43
  9. I have driven from Baltimore down to Norfolk. It's not going to be 4 hours. If you are driving, plan for at least double that time (8 hours+), or go the day before. Key Tip: Get an E-Zpass so you can use that lane
  10. Has anyone else gotten upgrade offers for bookings they didn't make / have? I got an upgrade email for the next sailing, different room type, different booking ID, showing my name. I checked and this is not a booking I've ever made. Luckily I'm pretty good at checking the fine print / numbers or I might have put in an offer to upgrade, except that it would have been a downgrade of room type. How often does that occur?
  11. Thanks everyone for the details. In a month or so, I'll do a comparison on the Grand Deluxe YC suite vs a Spirit Class Vista Suite (aft balcony). And then if all goes well, I'll do the comparison between YC RS and Mardi Gras Presidential Suite in September. Now that I think about the pizza option, sliced peppers and sausage sounds pretty good 🙂 maybe I'll just wing it and say pepperoni 🙂
  12. Does YC do any of these still, or are they just one off things done in the past We are looking at bookings on Seascape from Miami [April '24] and Seashore from PC [Sept '24], in case the ship/port matters. Port Canaveral - no more YC seating area - is this a one off, or are they doing away with the YC pre-boarding area/snacks/drinks? Is this coming for all ports? YC Snacks in the room - a few posters noted they stopped having these, is that another change? (nuts, pringles, candy bar in fridge) Reserved Pergola in YC One Pool area - MSC Customer Service could not find any listed details on this when asked if this is an option when we booked the RS room. They promised to get back to me on this, and never did. Can a non RS/OS room reserve one, or will that depend on the ship/sailing Dining under the stars - Morpheus mentioned this in the YC v RG thread, sounds neat if they do it Seafood extravaganza - Was this really removed due to others sneaking in to YC area? Seems like an excuse Dining in the room (Dinner served in stateroom / balcony) - Is there an for actual sit down served dinner in the stateroom/balcony where they serve it akin to what they do in the dining room Off menu room service and/or Custom Pizza (like pepperoni and sausage) - Mixed reviews seem to indicate you can't go off menu at all for room service, or sometimes can Off menu items in the dining room or items from the MDR served in YC - is this possible, one of the members of my party has a fish/shellfish allergy RS/OS All the Bottles of Spirits in the cabin - is this still done, or do you pick from 1 item from the list? I doubt this next one was ever an option, but ... Alternate Spirit option in the Cabin - Can you purchase a bottle of a different spirit? - Example, instead of a bottle of cheap scotch, can you pay for a better bottle (like Chivas Royal Salute 21)
  13. You can use more, the site seems to be acting up again today (it did the same yesterday). I had luck using Chrome "incognito" mode (or IE/Edge "private" mode)
  14. It will be interesting to see how World America's (WA) YC works out. A rough guess based on rooms put's WA's YC guest count at around 586ppl While Seashore/Sescape seem to be around 448ppl Having not been on any MSC ship yet I don't know if that will be just way too many on WA and the whole point of the increased service/quality/space will not be to our liking.
  15. If any guests decision to tip or not tip impacts the workers, that's on the cruise line for not paying them properly. The fact they can get people all worked up over it is why they can add more to the business profits instead of doing the right thing. It used to be that if you get great service, you give great tips The business laughs as they rake in hundreds of millions in savings and watch as the customers yell at each other over it.
  16. Is that for all persons in the cabin, or just the first 2? (meaning if we have 3, is that 2x for each?)
  17. That's terrible and sad. Makes me rethink the Pirates Cove excursion for family and friends, it's still offered by Carnival and we have it booked for a large group in the summer. I remember it being a beer in the cooler (sealed cans of bush crack, bush crack light) and the bar serving the bahama mama by the cup from a large container. Self service only.
  18. Just off mardi gras in the presidential suite. No free water beyond the normal 2 big bottles suite or gold + offers. Soda is no longer free in the room, charges full bar prices, you can get a opened can at a bar, or glass. Depends on what they feel like giving at that moment. Sparkling water not available, told to get it from the bar. Room service food is free, but coffee cost $3 a Pot plus service fee of $1. Normal room service menu options, but make sure you tell them your supposed to get it free or they will charge you. Even with telling them they still managed to sneak a fee in.
  19. Nice Menu options, does anyone know what days these are available, or is it just for Christmas eve/day Will they offer this the week before (7day on Mardi Gras Dec 16th to 23rd) in place of one of the formal nights? If so, any guesses which one?

  21. Thank you for making the chart, very handy If you are keeping it up to date, they have increased the prices for dining Guy's pig and anchor is showing a $ (and no longer the included flag) on the carnival site, not sure if that's something coming or just carnival's website being wrong again
